Put a fork in it, it’s done. “For now” I might settle on getting one of those Hasegawa Macross stands for this. Anyone here use one?

Seems unlikely at present. Maybe they'll play with that in season 5 or something. Kirk may have just preferred the doctor he brought with him, or perhaps M'Benga took a year in a shore posting like Dr. Crusher did and Kirk didn't want to reorganize the department when he came back.

Well, yeah... regular people dying in droves because rich arseholes want to control the uncontrollable is pretty much Alien in a nutshell. If you exclude Alien: Covenant, anyway. That's just Too Dumb to Live rednecks dying for an obsolete android's daddy issues and doesn't really involve The Company at all.

I hate the design for Lex, his crotch piece looks more like a front butt with a thong

The 171 kinda, sorta comes close to that if you squint real hard. 😉 I get what you mean, though. A fixed wing version of the VF-1, or maybe a slimmed down VF-24 would fit the bill.

Well, for the price of this Missing Link Ultra Magnus, I may as well just buy the original G1 toy even if it's a reissue and save myself a hundred or so dollars.- 17599 replies

Yeah, I was trying to give him an idea of what is readily available at consumer-grade level. I'm lucky enough to work somewhere that I have access to a lot of printers and materials ( from fdm printers to SLA , to resin, abs and carbon fiber), but I know most people don't have access to that. If he can find someone or somewhere that can print in ABS, that would be ideal like I mentioned, but it still doesn't seem that common at the consumer level. PETG would be a good option and is becoming more readily available. Also PLA has come along in the last few years. 5 years ago I would never try to do a part like that in PLA, but if that were my only option now, I think it would be fine.

I gotta say, the missiles crack me up, because they might be the original mold used on the vehicle in the 80s. Now, I never owned the Triple T, but I picked up a set of extra missiles Hasbro sold for their vehicles (mostly for spares to equip my Hurricane), and it came with two of those tiny ones. Hasbro really loved those barbell-shaped weapon mounts, they also got used in the early 90s for their "Flying Fighters" jets, so I was thrilled when I could load up my Joe jets with all the extras those came with.- 17599 replies

One solution would be an adhesive rubber pad on the top armatures.- 17599 replies

Seems to be an entire case study in "how to let arrogant people lead morons to unleash the apocalypse upon an unsuspecting planet." As for "Boy Kavalier", I have a better name for him, but I think MWF rules prohibit me from posting it.

Truly a thing of absolute beauty! Hat’s off @Return To Kit Form, just stunning display of talented workmanship and conceptualism. Gorgeous and fun even!

Yeah, the doofy backside of the cockpit has always bugged the crap out of me on the Legioss, for both aesthetic and aerodynamic reasons. I get that it doesn't really matter when you have micro-nuclear reaction engines, but it still looks stupid.

Not to scare off die hard HT addicts, there’s been reports of the Artisan Mohair having issues, so pick your copy of John Wick carefully. If you still have questions, go onCollectors Freak and read up on the existing Artisan Mohair issue. -
Ah the video and poster clear it up...I'm dense This is a fork of the main unit, it is a 'test machine'...i.e. VF-X/Macross Plus development fighter...AFC-01X Legioss Omega! Now I understand the liberties with the design, its truly meant to be an evolution of the original design, not an interpretation.

Yeah this is looking like the Mospeada figures for me, scale and price are just right, definitely in for a Tread too whenever that happens. I don't know, I want to wait for the green one, but I may grab the blue one for now just to check it out, then go all in when green releases.

I'm going to guess that the MLV Series is the Delta Wing Tread/TLEAD and the EZ Series is the forward swept version or the Bulldog.

The one thing I like about PLA is that it has a large variety of different colors. That said, I've printed in several SLS printers now, and PLA wouldn't really be an option for me with those parts. It is a plant-based plastic, and while that normally isn't an issue, when looking for qualities similar to ABS, the fact that there are a lot of newer Core X-Y printers that can print in ABS a lot easier than just a few years ago, ABS is a much more accessible material. There's also PETG, and some other hybrids that are fairly simple to print. With ABS though, the only thing with it is that it is a toxic material to print, so anyone doing it, have great ventilation and use a respirator when in the room, garage, or area while it's printing. Same should be for a lot of materials, but especially ABS, along with a few others. As for best materials, I have a printer that does do nylon. It's even more expensive, but while it is stronger and more resilient in how it handles, it's limited in colors (usually white, or black if you mix with a carbon fiber mixture).

Interesting, if simple, solution. As I surmised, the knees act as the armored form's hip joints. I wonder if the previous poses represent the limit of hip articulation forward or if the legs can kick higher. I don't have my reissue of G1 OP handy to see how much forward bend his knees have, but then the ML core's feet and calves have been modified so it's entirely possible the knees have as well to affect greater pose ability. The armatures holding the core's thighs in place are concerning for the potential to scratch or rub off the chrome.- 17599 replies
