You're a true gentleman Ted Same. I wanted to ship more but it was stupid expensive. So i also went with the small packet option..

Not specifically, no. South Ataria is a fictional island in the Ogasawara islands (the Bonin islands to westerners) south of Japan. The coordinates we're given put it about 90km south and slightly to the west of Iwo Jima and 54km to the west of South Iwo Jima. About 1,300km almost due south of Tokyo. It's not sourced on the Wiki because the Wiki got it from Egan's old site, but remarks similar to that are in a couple older artbooks. The course described there suggests the Alien Starship 1 was traveling northwest at a high rate of speed and must have completed almost an entire orbit before crashing given that it ends up east of where it entered the atmosphere. (Considering the course, it's likely New Zealand, New South Wales, Queensland, the Solomons, and New Guinea didn't have a great time either.) Macross Chronicle also supports the idea that the ship was moving generally northwest on reentry and crashed into South Ataria that way. Shin is a second-generation Japanese-American, so presumably he was living somewhere in the US when the ASS-1 came down. Practically all of the US cities and towns with large Japanese-American populations are in Hawaii or on the west coast, so in all likelihood Shin hails from either Hawaii, California, or Washington. (There's an outside chance he's from New Jersey, Michigan, New York, or Ohio, all of which are home to small but significant Japanese-American communities, but given Shin's not f***ing melting in the South Pacific weather on Mayan it seems unlikely he's a New Englander or a Midwesterner. I'll forego the almost obligatory joke about Ohio.) Kawamori seems to really like San Francisco, given how much time was taken recreating parts of it in Macross Frontier, so I'm guessing Shin's family are probably from the bay area.

Think of the rental fee for that much space!! In Japan!! Are there any architectural school that might like having that?

Rock and metal made a slight comeback this past year, even though it never really left. It became a bit tough this past year with Ozzy passing. But hard rock and Metal kinda got some big gains with Ghost, Sleep Token and Turnstile making some headless nes and breaking recent records. Anyway, hereās a list of my favorite albums of 2025. Thereās still exciting stuff coming out if you dig a little.Castle Rat has a fun fantasy doomy kinda sound making for something entertaining to listen toMorax which Is another fairly recent band, I think they only had one ep before this, but really enjoyable heavy metal. This might be my runner up for favorite album of 2025Nite has had a couple before, but really digging this album. Kinda a really cool classic kinda sound with a vocalist that sounds like an aged sorcererVolbeat had another great one thatās like a mix between thrash and 50ās, early 60ās Rock. Lots of fun happy kinda thing going on here. Iād still say Servant of the Mind was their masterpiece, but this one is definitely good as welland the new one From Ghost is a rather happy upbeat album that has heavy homages to 80ās pop rock. I usually hate when a band completely changes their style from their first album, but this kinda change fits the lore of the band. Unlike their first album which was dark and doomy, this is absolutely joyous and uplifting with unexpectedly positive songs. A really great pick me up.kinda just stumbled on Nyx Division recently. Kinda a power pop mixed with Goth kinda band. Very punchy fun songs. Turn up the bass for this one and crank up the volume and just have fun.and possibly my favorite of the year was the new one from Zig Zags with Deadbeat at Dawn. Fast quick mix of street punk and thrash.lots of fun great sound and perfect for waking you up for a boring trip to work. Lots of really fun stuff in 2025 and hopefully 2026 brings some more great albums

Too bad you couldn't live in it!

Trying, still facing some tough stuff from the end of last year, but really hoping for a good year

Theyāre definitely paying too much for the actors and not nearly enough to get good writers or quality visual effects. This next movie will have a great number of actors making insane amounts of money and will probably just look ok

Wonder how much actor pay comes into it? According to Google, RDJ earned 75 million for Endgame, beginning with an up front 20 million. IDK about anyone else, but to me 20 million would be more than enough for me, and that was just one movie. And that was just one actor in one movie.

Thereās a potential there for sure, but I doubt it will. Even though their recent movies havenāt done great, this one is making more of a buzz than Fantastic Four. But it will really come down to how good the movie is. If itās just a crap story trying too hard with that multiverse gimmick that everyone has already been tired of, it could be a major flop. Cramming a bunch of characters together again already seems like it will be a possible disaster and that could make for a tough comeback that will set Disney back pretty far. I donāt think this will be their nail in the coffin though, but they definitely are running out of chances.

This movie will sink Disney. Movies are just too expensive to make. I don't why. Maybe people see a movie production and automatically charge them triple for services. Too often we're seeing these multi hundred million dollars films that don't look that good which need to take in almost a billion to break even. Unless they can convince everyone in world to see it that's a near impossible feat. I look at this movie and think how much money will it cost? Throwing more money at the screen creates a bigger problem. You now have to convince everyone in the world to see it twice. It will be a miracle if they break even.

When the Macross crashed originally, do we know its trajectory as it came in? We know Macross crashed in July 1999 into South Ataria island is, AFAIK, a fictional island off the southern coast of Japan. I assume somewhere slightly westward since, as Shin describes, at the start of Macross Zero, he see's "A Second sun in the west" at the end of the contrail/smoke cloud. So it must have passed over him, or close to it, which means either Shin DIDN'T live in Japan, or the island is somewhere to the near South West of the archipelago. In SDFM's first episode we learn a few things. One is that, while still relatively high in the sky, The Macross created enough of a shockwave to destroys at least one city. Also it very clearly hit South Ataria Island Macross Compendium says: 1815 Japan Standard Time: Admidst a dispute between a faction advocating to destroy it by nuclear attack and factions advocating for no attack, the object named "EVA" (evangel, which means the Gospel of the Coming) enters the atmosphere above Burma. Due to the high temperatures and terrific shock waves, it reduces the summit of Mount Everest by nearly 1000 meters, destroys Moscow and Stockholm, and inflicts damage while passing over all parts of Europe. Furthermore, it travels over Iceland and Greenland, causes volcanoes to erupt in Canada, and falls onto the South Ataria Island at the southermost tip of the Ogasawara Islands above the Tropic of Cancer. But I have no idea where it got that from.

There are times when I'm compelled to help my fellow collectors, especially when I see companies taking unfair advantage... and this is the worst example I've seen yet. I don't know what "handling fees" entail, or how they're justified, but those of us in Japan can help you circumvent this nonsense entirely. PM if interested.

Not rumor, just exaggeration. One vendor has already started offering it as an option, and people missed the "option" part. -
