knowing the lazy effort, why would I spend 29,000 yen plus shipping and tariffs on this? I must hate money

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
shazam replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Artisan Studio Android 18 Early Bird Edition. š§ I'm not sure how I feel about this figure. I feel like I am looking at an alien wearing a human skin suit. -
Agreed. They also said the quiet part out loud here: At first? It is what they did. This thing reeks of minimum effort to get by with something that resembles a VF-17.

It does need a bit of tweaking to the proportions before it looks like it will conform with fighter mode, but that is a pretty awsome design to use as a cyclops variant for the 24. Do you have the full image of the sketch? That cancelled armor design seems interesting too.

The Third Party Gundam Thread
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to slaginpit's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
HOT GENERAL's 1/100 scale Kratos figure is coming soon: It's definitely GM based, a GM Type C maybe? I guess it could also pass as a White Dingo member from the Dreamcast Gundam game. Looks good, but those rifles have to go. They look way too much like real guns.- 2184 replies

It was pointed out to me recently that I had painted a few pieces in the wrong color on an older build of mine. Sad face. I guess the back of the knees were painted the same as the frame color, Black/blue metallic and needed to be the armor color which was white with pearl. Luckily the parts were glued together with CA so I was able to carefully crack the pieces apart and made the correction. Better late than never. What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
m0n5t3r replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
After rewatching Frieren S1, I was looking for a similar laid-back, non-isekai, fantasy/adventure anime to binge before starting S2 and decided on Dungeon Meshi... I'm at ep 17 and, man, was I wrong when I thought this would just be a funny show about cooking and eating monsters in a dungeon. I'm suddenly getting FMA-Brotherhood vibes... I miss that show. -

Star Wars Maul - Shadow Lord, 2026 on D+
Dynaman replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Since it is an animated show I'll compare it to the animated shows so far. At least the trailer looks good and they didn't try to make Maul a hero (protagonist yes but it does not appear they did to him what happened to Boba Fett). The animation detail has come a considerable way as well. SO, since I still have D+ I'll be watching it.- 25 replies

Points to Takara for their inventiveness, which is still exciting to see even if the final results thereof don't enthrall me, as these do not. I'd rather have seen the budget go towards producing a more G1ish Mirage for Legacy or perhaps some Omnibots. And though they just rereleased the Earth mode Hound, let's face the fact that it doesn't skew at all towards the prevailing cartoon look at all. In fact, it doesn't really look like the G1 toy beyond the front of the jeep forming his chest. As with Mirage, too many liberties taken beggar for more faithful figures to follow.- 18008 replies
