  2. Is there a source for it being *smaller*? M3 has no info on it at all (no Delta articles), and there's basically no info about the work destroid from Frontier either, so it's really difficult to tell how big the Frontier model is. While it's obvious that they're related, and that both are related to the Cheyenne II, But drawing conclusions about scale due to shared components is kind of dangerous due to how many variants there are of the same mesh at different scale in other cases. (I'm looking at the beam turrets from the Northampton/Stealth Cruiser/Gefion, which exist at *at least* three different sizes, possibly as many as five...)
  3. I’m awkwardly curious about this one
  4. Like most of the stuff tied to Snyder, Wonder Woman was bound to be recast to forget the horrible failures of the dcu. There were only a couple of good ones in there with a few meh and mostly bleh movies. This reboot should have happened sooner.
  5. Today
  6. Let the fun begin! 👹
  7. Gadot was perfect as Wonder Woman but we were all wronged by the '84 sequel. Ugh. I still wish the Snyderverse DCU films had a conclusion. *sad face* Still, curious as to who will be the next Wonder Woman. Anybody willing to place bets on who it will be?? I can't think of an actress that is as tall as Gadot who is 5'10.
  8. I would have been excited for this if not for that dreadful History of the World show. If it gets good reviews I may see it at the theater but will probably be waiting for netflix, amazon, etc...
  9. I have a feeling it is going to transition to a new series following Kirk and the Enterprise. Or perhaps going to movies.
  10. Heck, it is far above Return of the Jedi, which is where the Rot really started. Personally I have a hard time choosing between it or the original Star Wars as the number 2 film in the entire franchise. Star Wars has the benefit of being a phenomenon that really sucked me in to science fiction (*) but really doesn't hold up as an incredible movie. * I remember seeing an ad for SW around Christmas and thinking it was just another silly science fiction movie - after the following summer I never had that pre-conceived notion about scifi again, though there were PLENTY of garbage scifi movies post SW of course.
  11. Not s'much. Destroids were practically abandoned as a concept after the First Space War. The only "new" models we've seen are modernizations and retrofits of pre-war 03 or 04 Series units like the Cheyenne II or Super Defender. The only commonplace one seems to be the Cheyenne II, partially (possibly mainly) via the unarmed Destroid Work model and the scaled-down Workroid. Yeah, it's a smaller derivative of the Destroid Work that's not meant for hazardous conditions. It's said to be quite popular as a piece of heavy industrial/construction machinery, though. Given that Hayate starts the Macross Delta series as a dockworker handling freight at the Shahal City spaceport and he finds Freyja inside a shipping container that had just been offloaded by a ship coming from Windermere IV, that that those containers are meant to be the same containers Hayate is handling day in and day out seems certain.
  12. I absolutely love his statement in the teaser. "After 40 years, we asked, 'What do the fans want?' But instead, we're making this movie." If only the ST had been so bold. Also love they're targeting it for the 50th. Just poetry.
  13. I believe that is exactly the intent. I don't know if a real incident took place as impetus, or if it's just urban legend, but I recall such a story from when I was a kid and over the years repeated. I'm too lazy to employ Google Fu, but suffice it to say, I think the intent was good but the execution a little heavy handed compared to how relaxed the laws are regarding real weapons.
  14. I always thought the "no realistic toy guns" legislation is in place so that the police can be certain that if a perpetrator is holding something that looks like a gun is actually in possession of a weapon that can hurt them (and is not an innocent kid playing coos and crooks with his pals).
  15. I'd call it a cash grab if, given the gag in the original, that wasn't the entire self-aware point...
  16. Moderoid Bismarck. Price & release TBA.
  17. Welp, it looks like its actually happening! 18. Dept Q. on Netflix. Starring Matthew Goode, last seen (by me) in Abigail and A Discovery of Witches. A gruff, hard bitten English inspector in Scotland given charge of a new cold case department. Quirky characters and never-do-wells abound!
