  4. Well, he could always be a clone. That seems to be a thing...
  5. I agree with the logic that this was a dead character and a post death movie of them being alive could break the universe, but they had a good actor an award-winning director wanting to make a movie - you do what it takes to make that work.
  6. Holy crap! This was unexpected. Itagaki-san provided many hours of quality entertainment for me. Loved his work and his aesthetic. His games treated you like an intelligent human, generally didn't hold your hand, and punished you for failure, but kept success within reach - if you got gud. I also remember he would answer questions in a monthly column in one of the game mags, he did that for a while. He sometimes answered the question straight, sometimes irreverently, but always entertainingly. Wherever you are now, It's more fun and much more awesome now that you're there.
  7. So is that the package art in the background? Mercy Rabbit is back for this one?
  8. I'm loving the Tread. It looks great!
  9. Definitely. It looks like the times it was made in, and actually a bit ahead of its time in many ways
  10. They’re available on their own website and a few oddball spots that sell third party items. Haven’t seen them on too many of the bigger places though
  11. Oddly a lot of hobby and toy shows end up with a few booths that don’t allow pics or videos. It even happens with games as well. Sometimes it’s due to licensing and other times it’s due to incomplete items and other times it’s something that just can’t be explained by reasons unknown
  12. What Bandai versions are you referring for the Zentradi soldiers? Has anyone ordered the new soldiers, and how do you find them?

    1/55's revisited

I'm certainly not the Takatoku guy 'round these parts, my middle name is 'Sprue' But when I went through my hundreds of model kits before ebay and the like appeared (meaning all store bought) I never had a missing decal or instruction sheet. In fact the Nichimo kits often have an 'inspector' label in some of the boxes. I'll be the first to say my world is a SUPER small sampling, and might not even be directly comparable, since the model kits all come in sealed bags thrown into boxes vs Takas that have all loose pieces layered and taped in, but I don't think the Japanese manufacturers in the day were as careless as we may think looking at the current, often 'frankensteined from various sources' inventory found in the markets today. Just my 2 cents!
  14. Thanks for that! Always love seeing what kits they have coming out. Shame about the others not letting any videos be taken in their booths. You'd think they'd want free publicity!
  15. Thanks for the tour!
  16. Happy Birthday! Pretty quiet! Probably out celebrating! XD
  17. Here's my video of the event. Attending the hobby show is increasingly becoming a social event for me, and as such I spent more time standing around talking and less time documenting the event. Plus I was having many problems with my lousy video camera. https://odysee.com/@stevethefishdotnet:2/2025-All-Japan-Model-Hobby-Show-全日本模型ホビーショー:e
  18. Or just leave it alone and watch Turbo Kid instead if you really need that 80’s vibe
  19. Just remake the OG Tron with state of the art CGI, but keep the 80s vibe.
  20. NGL, at first, I thought the nose thing was a fat indent with a reverse thrust nozzle because of the internal details towards the rear, but it doesn't check out with top view having an outline following the nose profile, and every interpretation of it has been sensors, so I'm probably wrong. Anyway, judging by the line art, it looks like the cockpit block itself is actually pointed. I think a quick way to eyeball whether there is room for that would be to see peek under the collar on the 25's battroid model. Or just keep them whole pieces regardless and invent a simple toe in pivot should it get in the way later lol
  21. Totally digging those little red accents. Really brings out the look
  22. You're correct. I don't know why I thought I paid less... eh, I'm getting old. Must have had something else shipped around the same time that cost $80. I'll have to edit my review, but really the takeway is that the Air Defense team is now fully equal in price to Optimus' trailer, and I dunno about that. The math ain't mathing, as my daughter would say. I 100% agree. Just like animators in the '80s couldn't shade silver, and now we've got a whole mess of people insisting that Optimus' legs and thighs should be white when they're clearly supposed to be the same silver as the toy. And if I'm being honest, I'd have preferred that NYCC Nemesis Prime was black. It's how Takara did the original Armada toy. But, like I said in my review, they're not just copying how the animation was done, it seems that the Hasbro version of the original toy was also dark blue.
  23. This may be true but also inconsistent. Many “mint” items always seem to be “missing” original items from catalogs of the correct time, stickers, and instructions. It’s just a matter of time.
  24. I am very sure they do, but have yet to surface. it seems there are a few collectors who have stashes of Takatoku items in sealed cases. Last example known was from last year when a buyer/seller from AZ was selling case fresh exemplar items of Orguss in two scales amongst other gems. I mean mint, real mint, Ruth out of a master case kind of throng. While it seems we may not know the answer know, rest assured time will deliver on what we seek. Just not soon enough or fast enough. Really hoping AgentGHQ was around to chime in.
