Always love me a good "whodunit" murder mystery movie, looking forward to this latest Knives Out one.

Also it's time for another Hercule Poirot movie.

Hope so! I've been liking the Brannaugh movies.

We watched WARFARE last night on HBO, a good solid movie. It has that combo of you've been thrown straight into combat like BLACK HAWK DOWN, the nighttime is very Zero Dark Thirty and the visual impact of Saving Private Ryan. It's an hour & a half film that gets right to the point and no need to drag it out.

The sound of the rifles, shell casings and that cracking sound must have been deafening in the movie theater.

I was a bit worried since it had that A24 tag and my lady seems to hate every time I suggest one of their movies ever since The Green Knight

It was indeed deafening in the theater. I may have posted about it the night I saw it. Well worth the price of entry.

Talked my lady into watching Warfare since everyone seems to be bringing it up lately since it dropped on Max or HBO Max or whatever it’s called now. I personally liked it, but not quite as much as others and my lady although liking war movies didn’t really like it at all. I think the issue is that while the action is done really well, it’s bit light on story. Or maybe that it isn’t so much a story, but an experience. It probably could’ve helped to have a bit of exposition about what was going on and maybe could have been a bit easier to get a feel for things if they showed some of the film from the other groups involved.

Spoiler

She was a bit confused on the who’s who of characters that mostly either just shot or screamed or kicked injured soldiers seemingly on purpose or by accident.

i also kinda get the feeling that people thirty or so years down the line might not even really understand what’s going on and might just think the U.S. troops are the bad guys since they just randomly take two families hostage and end up trashing their home. Even the first rescue attempt is total chaos and it kinda appears that the rescue vehicle just ditches wounded soldiers.
The next batch of troops kinda just come in like a bunch of A holes instead of backup. I think it takes a little bit of modern historical knowledge to kinda piece together what’s going on or even where they are.

Overall, I personally liked it, but I feel like it will be more enjoyed from guys that dig action or military folk than the average person.

So it was recently revealed that Netflix show writers are advised to write dialogue that essentially narrates the movie in order for audiences who have it on in the background can know what's going on.

I don't know why I felt the need to mention that just now. It's a real mystery. Anyway I'm super depressed for some reason, how about you?

So the new Anaconda is a horror-comedy reboot of the J-Lo Ice Cube film? Okay I guess, not sure who asked for this, but there it is.

More like the new nightmare version but more comedy
