That’s what I cling onto after all these years. Nowadays it feels like a bit of a miracle just to see a repaint or one with a few extra parts added, but maybe one day they will do some more exciting stuff Quote
RDX17 Posted Tuesday at 08:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:16 PM Tomahawk hope is all that's keeping me going these days. :) Quote

jvmacross Posted Tuesday at 09:42 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:42 PM Did someone mention Hope and Tomahawk in the HMR thread? Quote

If done well-the caveat- I'd most definitely be down for an SV-51, one of my favorite valks. I wish they'd also do a VF-14, a VF-5000, a Variable Glaug, and a VF-9 Cutlass, just to name a few. Quote
jenius Posted Wednesday at 02:07 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:07 AM What's been the worst Hi Metal R Macross release? Maybe the VF-2? Still impressive, that toy really needs a larger scale to pull it off properly. Quote

Gorilla hands and being ridiculously undersized/underscaled against the HMR VF-1/VF-0/VF-2. Plus the seemingly glued-shut leg missile bays of the VF-19P... edit: 2 hours ago, Big s said: Especially after they also did the defender. That’s almost fifty percent of the Tomahawk Even more confoundingly weird, DYRL Max 1A/1S and DYRL Kaki-1A. Other than the stripes/arrows and Jolly Rogers colors, they're the same frickin' valkyrie as the Hikky-1A! Bandai gotta Bandai... Edited Wednesday at 02:43 AM by treatment adds Quote

For a Valkyrie toy that is riddled with Anime magic in order for it to transform, the HMR 2SS is still a must have... warts & all. To see Arcadia or Bandai make a 1/60, that would be a true Holy Grail for me. Quote

Couldn't bring myself to get the kai even for just $60. VF-2SS at least looks great in all modes with or without the SAP, even if I wouldn’t dare play with it like I would the VF0s. I'm ok with the HMR line being non-scale, but having the VF-19 be shorter than the VF-1 is like seeing Optimus Prime being shorter than Bumblebee in the same toyline. Their heights don't need to be exactly to scale, but they should be within the same ballpark. And the VF-19's long arms in battroid mode really do give it gorilla proportions. I've seen them on sale on Amazon for pretty low prices, but they're still an easy pass for me. Quote
borgified Posted Wednesday at 09:50 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:50 PM It's getting to the point that I'm very upset of al the "fake teases" of the proposed HMR projects that never came into fruition and getting very picky just about every Bandai Macross related drops (nothing recently has grabbed my attention) . The last HMR Macross release that I picked up was the VF-0d and the non-Macross item was the Orguss. Quote
jenius Posted Wednesday at 10:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:06 PM I'm loving the Votoms line but agree we need a reason to be excited for more Macross products. Quote

Maybe it was a mistake, according to my wallet. But I started collecting other toys from different franchises to alleviate the down time in between releases. Quote

But maybe that it's not handled internally from Bandai is what sets the V.O.T.O.M.S. series apart from what's being done in-house? Maybe if they find a company or a person who is a "Fan" of the series it might get better management of the series!? Quote
ValkAddict Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago When will Bandai finish the Hi-Metal destroids??? 🙄 Quote
borgified Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago Bandai will never finish off the HMR destroids @ValkAddict in my opinion. They’re too invested in re-reissuing the Frontier valks and the lacklustre 17 (which is a retool of the 171ex). Who knows if Bandai will even go back to the 1/48 valks and put out the missed 1a valks that they didn’t do (including the VE-1). Quote
