This is too big to be done in vinyl, IMHO. This must be done in plastic or resin. And according with this, the price could be over $500, easy. Don't surprise is this reach the $700

Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine....

Love that enthusiasm!

I'm going to hold off on any declarations of "buy" or "pass" until more details are confirmed.

I've wanted a Monster. It's close enough in scale for me to not care. The thing is HUGE no matter what. The price... man, that might be the deciding factor. But I've been waiting for something like this since I was a child.

At 1/72 scale, maybe they are trying rope in the model kit builders, and hope the "action model" collectors don't mind the smaller scale?

Anyway, I've read nothing but great things about X-Plus from kaiju collectors, although I believe the stuff they make is usually static?

The sign specifically says Vinyl. In giant Katakana letters, "Destroid Monster Big Size Sofubi" [sofubi of course meaning soft vinyl]

Not that I would expect much in the way of movement with this thing anyway but does that mean not even the arms will adjust?

They don't appear to be separate parts on the prototype, so there's a pretty good chance that they won't. Hard to tell at this point, but soft vinyl isn't really known for being highly mobile, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're not adjustable.

I think it will have movement, just like the Gunhead does.

I wouldn't expect fully bendable knees or anything... but movement isn't really the monsters strong point.

I bet the arms and canons will move.

Would it be around this size? This was the one at the MWcon, yes? Chunky Monkey next to it.

1/72 is large enough........anything larger and you're risking a sprained....ummmm.....wrist?

Man, I followed the link expecting to see more news and new pics... :(

one more pic and 'roughly 1/72' scale info.

It would be really cool to have one to display next to a couple of VF-1's and other Destroids, especially looking at the pictures that wmkjr and jvmacross posted, but you guys are freaking me out with the talk about price and materials.

Well, look at it this way....unless Arcadia announces a TV SDF-1....this will be the single biggest Macross expense you need to worry about in 2015!!! :p

Such a pinpoint comment! :D

The Robotech Vinyl Battlepods looked great ---but there was basically NO movement to speak of. Basically static display pieces, but hey, the price was right!

This looks pretty good. I won't mind adding to the collection if the price isn't too high. Finding somewhere to display it is another thing, the wife may freak.

Man, I have been on the fence about this one since this thread popped up. The new pics and the scale info is starting to push me over though. The MK-II has been my favorite version of the Monster for years, I actually prefer it over the VB6 even though the VB6 can transform.
