jvmacross
So the originally posted dimensions have also changed? If not, they may as well also say it is 1/1 too!

wmkjr
1/60! So what scale monster would be the gray shadow behind the black outline? Does it need that brace to stay level? Edited October 23, 2014 by wmkjr
kyekye
Now they're re-label it as 1/60 scale: http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-1/2014%E5%B9%B410%E6%9C%8819%E6%97%A5-fire-bomber-2014-%E6%9C%83%E5%A0%B4%E5%B1%95%E7%A4%BA-x-plus%E5%B1%95%E5%93%81/ I think it's just that website's mistake? I don't see "1/60" anywhere on the images or official info..

EXO
No way that's a 1/60... but some people seem happy if they just slapped that number on the box...

Vifam7
The big question is: how much? Edited October 23, 2014 by Vifam7
spanner
The big question is: how much? hmmm yes a good question indeed.. ok so even if it were to be about double the cost of say.. a Zero-D for example, then I think it'd still be in the money for me! aceoftherebellion
Definitely website mistake. Centimeter to meter conversion measurements math out to be almost exactly 1/72. (technically about .9 cm off, but that's splitting hairs) That said, if you put something this big next to any 1/60 valk, 1/60 and 1/72 are so close in scale most people won't be able to tell the difference anyway. McFly!!
No way that's a 1/60... but some people seem happy if they just slapped that number on the box... lol true, i guess i'd be one of 'em! XD I've decided im gonna do the same! hope it doesn't cost twice as much as a vf-0d, that'd be too big an envelope XD That said, if you put something this big next to any 1/60 valk, 1/60 and 1/72 are so close in scale most people won't be able to tell the difference anyway. hmm... i guess so. although the difference is obvious when you look at the same valk, e.g., vf-25f dx chogokin vs bandai's 1/72 model kit
aceoftherebellion
Yeah, with Valkyries the difference between 1/60 and 1/72 is pretty obvious, and if you had monsters in 1/72 and 1/60 scale to compare you'd definitely see a difference, but when you get to something that huge and don't have that frame of reference, it probably won't make that much of a difference. Scale is pretty arbitrary with cartoon robots as it is.
spanner
hope it doesn't cost twice as much as a vf-0d, that'd be too big an envelope XD hehe! I hope so too but... a HWR-00 MK II even at 1:72 scale is gonna be a lot of toy to begin with so yeah I'd say its a certainty that it will! McFly!!
Scale is pretty arbitrary with cartoon robots as it is. True that! I guess I could just put it in the back and pretend it's a perspective thing (and I suppose it really is, for that matter)! hehe! I hope so too but... a HWR-00 MK II even at 1:72 scale is gonna be a lot of toy to begin with so yeah I'd say its a certainty that it will! I hedged my bet with the DX Chogokin monster, just in case this one turns out to be too pricey. If not, I'd like to see how they stack up against each other! DarrinG
Here is Mike's new 1/72 Monster kit with a 1/60 V1 VF-1. Hard to tell because the camera is top down, but I think a 1/60 Tomahawk or Defender would like very close in scale posed IN FRONT of a 1/72nd. In fact - maybe it would be even more ideal than pure 1/60? Gives you the same effect but takes up less room? I'm kind of a scale purest tho, and it might bug me just KNOWING it was off . . . kyekye
Any idea about this one and the shop? Looks like origin is China. They have 1/72 HWR-00-MKII Monster in stock ? Images say they tuned up/modified other kit and selling? Is this legit shop? or re-cast shop?
EXO
Knock off site... they are bootlegging Captain's kits too. And some guy said that they take your CC info and use it. Beware of that site.

EXO
Seriously, who has to carry that ladder to get that Destroid into action? We can build transforming jets but you still have to climb a long ass ladder... lol.

DarrinG
! Ha -- Its probably emergency exit only type thing anyway tho. Those elevator lifts scroll across the hanger bays and drop off the pilots like the Tomahawks etc I bet . . .
spanner
This is cool . . . KP617-W31.jpg hmmm maybe the huge costs of building all those stupid long ladders blew the HWR's program bugdet which would explain why there were so few of them built! hehe! only joking.. I pulled that one out of my arse.. but still that ladder idea is complete fail!

EXO
Oh that sucks. I didn't think this would affect his project. I think that's the second time he cancelled a monster project. The first one was when Yamato released the Koenig monster.
Gakken85
1/72 is perfectly big enough and close enough for me.

edstuff
You know if this thing is A) made of vinyl and/or B)1/60 scale.then those are 2 reasons he should continue his monstar project. The vinyl will probably be expensive and 1/60 scale will definitely be expensive. I could see these going for 600 bucks. If they're that much then the I say the monstar kit should still be sold. But that's just my 2 cents.

Major Focker
this monster doesn't seem much bigger than the 3A MGS Rex which IIRC was ~$500. articulated. with lights. and sound. Would it be around this size? This was the one at the MWcon, yes? Chunky Monkey next to it.
