JJ's crew aren't writing this.

Good, they're terrible at keeping a cohesive story held together. JJ's directing style is just perfect for Star Wars, things will be fast pace with banter and he can handle lots of effects shots, but his writers are all terrible (Star Trek could have benefited from keeping his writers away as well.)

Always thought Latino Review was legit......until I read this:

But that is not all! As I mentioned before Leonardo DiCaprio was up for a role in Star Wars but passed. He passed because he wants to do a project that is being developed and that project is…

“Robotech”

Based on the sprawling sci-fi epic, “Robotech” takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific isle. Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off three successive waves of alien invasions. The first invasion concerns a battle with a race of giant warriors who seek to retrieve their flagship’s energy source known as “protoculture,” and the planet’s survival ends up in the hands of two young pilots.

So what do you think? Let us know below…And also EXPECT DENIALS FROM ABRAMS…how did the last time he denied our scoop work out?

Episode VII is expected to hit theaters in 2015.

Star Trek wasn't as good, because it's written by the same boneheads as "Revenge of the Fallen"

Orci and Kurtzman, who are really awful at keeping storylines in a remember-able direction.

Kasdan is writing it, I have faith, especially with Lucas out of the picture.

One rumor and one report:

Rumor: Disney Actually Eyeing December Release For Episode VII

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn may have said just this month at D23 that Star Wars Episode VII will be released in the summer of 2015, but Badass Digest is claiming that Disney has been considering moving the film to December. Multiple anonymous sources told BD's Devin Faraci that Disney is now planning for December, "with a mid-month release -- the 15th -- being most likely."

Report: Episode VII To Be Shot Using 35mm Film

The Boba Fett Fan Club is reporting that Star Wars Episode VII will be shot on film instead of digitally and that the cinematographer for the film will be a man with three Abrams-directed projects under his belt. "Announced today at a film industry event in Los Angeles, we're exclusively reporting that Dan Mindel ASC, BSC is shooting Star Wars Episode 7 with J.J. Abrams — on 35mm film. Specifically, Kodak film stock 5219."

If you've seen the behind-the-scenes featurette for Star Trek, you know just why Abrams prefers to use 35mm. Expect a lot of screen jittering from him tapping the camera.

Don't forget lens flare. No sci-fi movie would be complete without lens flare.

I could literally post to this thread on a daily basis with rumors and conjecture, but have been trying to hold off. However, I did want to add this bit of info: for the past month, the rumors have been hot and heavy that we'd be getting some sort of announcement in October. Then rumors went around that we would get a brief teaser trailer featuring Mark Hamill. But so far, nothing... and then two weeks ago the Star Wars YouTube page posted the original teaser for Star Wars to their channel. Then a week later they posted the original teaser for Empire. Today they posted the Jedi "Revenge" teaser. Keep your eyes open, because next Wednesday we may have that teaser reveal for Episode VII...

They still have 1-3 to do first...

Why would they? Different cast, differently feeling. They're leading up to 7, not 1.

Besides, the 30th is the one-year anniversary of Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm.

This comes directly from StarWars.com. Apparently, Michael Arndt is off the script. Oooooh, boy...

As Episode VII continues pre-production, Lawrence Kasdan and director J.J. Abrams have assumed screenwriting duties for the film. Kasdan, who has been serving as a consultant on the film, is a veteran of several classic Lucasfilm productions, writing the screenplay for Raiders of the Lost Ark and serving as co-screenwriter for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Acclaimed director and screenwriter Abrams' credits include Super 8, Mission: Impossible III, Fringe, and Lost.

"I am very excited about the story we have in place and thrilled to have Larry and J.J. working on the script," states Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. "There are very few people who fundamentally understand the way a Star Wars story works like Larry, and it is nothing short of incredible to have him even more deeply involved in its return to the big screen. J.J. of course is an incredible storyteller in his own right. Michael Arndt has done a terrific job bringing us to this point and we have an amazing filmmaking and design team in place already prepping for production."

Location scouting, production design, casting, and costume design are already underway on Episode VII. A team of gifted artists are working to bring the latest installment of the Star Wars saga, including director of photography Dan Mindel (Mission: Impossible III, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness), production designers Rick Carter (Lincoln, Avatar, Forrest Gump) and Darren Gilford (Oblivion, TRON: Legacy), costume designer Michael Kaplan (Star Trek Into Darkness, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Fight Club),special effects supervisor Chris Corbould (Skyfall,The Dark Knight Rises, Inception), sound designer Ben Burtt (Lincoln, Wall-E, Star Wars: Episodes I-VI), re-recording mixer Gary Rydstrom (Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, Toy Story, Mission: Impossible -Ghost Protocol), supervising sound editor Matthew Wood (Star Trek Into Darkness, The Master, There Will Be Blood) of Skywalker Sound, and visual effects supervisor Roger Guyett (Star Trek Into Darkness, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith) of Industrial Light & Magic. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, with Tommy Harper (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, Jack Ryan, Star Trek Into Darkness) and Jason McGatlin (Tintin,War of the Worlds) serving as executive producers. John Williams is returning to score Star Wars: Episode VII.

Shooting is scheduled to begin Spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios for an expected 2015 release.

Highly respected screenwriter. Word is they dumped everything back in July, including Lucas's story outline. They just weren't happy with it. They've literally started from scratch (or so goes the insider leaks).

Which could be a good thing... maybe. At least they have Kasdan.

and that means that JJ's role & ego will go as far as putting a green JJFilmLdt at the beginning? scraping the outline? well should be a good thing (it worked for STID, didnt it? :/ )
