Thanks for the scoop -

Personally I'm not that big on Yamato's factory weathering (Weatherin) versions and since 1/60 seems to be the scale of choice these days the Valks are an easy pass.

And yeah, I'd be pissed too if I spent big money on the first ultra-limited, good luck on eBay, go-round of these variants.

Cool! Looks like a special arrangement made between HLJ and Yamato to sell limited products to oversea customers. I can't find the same products on www.hlj.co.jp (Japan only version of HLJ), or amiami.com (which usually list new product faster than HLJ), or any other stores.

I m tracking the 1J weathering ver for long time. To me, it is a quite good work and the price is quite acceptable (according to the official price of white 1J, only 30 bucks for weathering job, so cheap). A good chance for me to grab one.

Really hope the hikaru weathering ver will be release 2nd time, with similar price.

I wish they will have the 1/60 Armored Part set "with missile launch effect" instead of all the weathering exclusives....

I mean the 1s hikaru weathering, 250 units limited initially, with fp can sell up to 60,000 yen!

Hope it can go down to the 17,000yen level.

No...I don't think so, as that's not made to sell as exclusive by Yamato but for The Macross Chro lucky draw so dun think that will happen. You sure it can fetch for 60,000 Yen?

It,s no exclusive arrangement with yamato & HLJ ,toy-wave has been selling both the 1/48 vf-1s & the vf-1j weathered versions for awhile(well the pre-order for the vf-1j and they,ve had the vf-1s for quite awhile now,but has just recently sold out)

The going price for the recently sold out vf-1s was around $250.00(down from$600.00)

The pre-order for the vf-1j is around $225.00.

but I may go for HLJ if it,s as cheap as it says!!

It,s an unfortunate firm headbutt to the collectors of the yamato online exclusive

What toy-wave and angolz have is different: they buy from Yamato online shop at full retail, and then add their own markup on them. What HLJ have here is new - no extra markup, you pay the same money as someone in Japan would to Yamato online shop, plus shipping minus sale tax.

I guess your right, but once the early bird deal finish,s on the hlj.com weathered vf-1,s they,ll be fairly close to toy-wave,s price anyway(if they don,t sell out before, that is)

Yeah it is weird that toy-wave's mark-up is really low. May be they also get a side deal.

HLJ also have all 3 1:1 helmet listed for Feb 2010 release.

Although the photos are the bike helmet, not what it should be?

So here I'm yelling at people to buy early to encourage the rest of the line's financial viability ( and release ) - and this is what I get:

• The tremendous feeling I could have waited and saved about $200 bucks on both my weathered destroids . . .

---------

So if and when the Phalanx weathering edition is announced do they honestly expect me to buy right away?

They're smarter than me, so they must be getting customers who cannot be patient with pre-orders, and then scooping up the remainder later with these drastic reductions . . .

We should wait for some official words from HLJ or Yamato. We are not really sure if they are a speical HLJ exclusive or general release.

To be fair, I think those products were exclusive to Yamato online shop, not limited number one-time releases. Some 1:55 collector were surely unhappy over the extreme price they paid for their old 1:55 when Bandai reissued some units 8 years ago. Remember their Macross license only have distribution right inside Japan, so they could not sell them directly to us from Yamato online shop if they wanted to. Now they let HLJ sell them which will be cheaper for us, but it is less profitable per unit for Yamato too since HLJ will get their cut.

Since the 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru is a relatively new weathering release hopefully this means that in the future we'll know about HLJ being an alternative to the Yamato webshop exclusive in time to purchase through them. If they put the GBP with launching effect up I might have to make a preorder...

what a steal! now you can own one of their non-transforming toys for the same low price as one of their transforming toys.

you know theres that old saying so and so raped my childhood, well in yamatos case they're raping my manhood!

its cool though, i'll let you know when you need more lube...

Former Federal Agents fired for excessive force making you buy these things, DnD?

you know it dude! with a gun to my head, with my nuts in a vice!

actually i haven't purchased a single macross toy since the YF-21 was released. it sucked paying as much as i did, then realizing its not really that cool of a toy feature-wise. then the 11B came out with the same amount of features or lack their of, and that was my breaking point. why pay so much for something that does so little?

i thought of picking up atleast one of the v2 1/60s(because at least those actually have cool features and accessories)but whats the point?, so i can get all caught up in collecting again? i've been down that road before and as a collector you never get off an exit so to speak. you stay driving down a never ending road because no matter how many you have, it'll never be enough.

now i just enjoy other people pics and making silly comments on how outrageous things are/have been getting. people are ready to drop a car payment on a toy that they'll never really play with, you know? don't get it mixed up, i'm not knocking the people who can afford and i'm not saying i can't afford it either. its just to me, the satisfaction of ownership vs. the dollar amount to obtain a macross toy has been really lob sided for years now and i just don't see the point anymore.

Guess I'm glad I've never been a collector. I buy what I really like and skip everything else. I would kinda like to get one of the v2 1/60... maybe a Roy since my v1 is wrapped up in the GBP but the problem/shoulder issues have kept me away. I would like a darker CF... but then it would make my pilotless v1's look a bit out of place... same with the CF-1J.

Wow, I love my YF-21. Love every mode of the design, Gerwalk, Battroid but probably the biggest fan of fighter. The T-bar chipped/cracked on one of the ends, probably when I was mangling it during the first transformation, but not enough to impugn my ability to transform, which I have down to a T now (and am able to flawless transform my Gamlin VF-22, which is probably my single most favorite valk right now).

I would say it's the correct photo just the title description is off. The price is about right for the bike helmet but the 1/1 pilot helmet cost over $400 US dollars.

UPDATE I was wrong. The reason it is cheaper is because it is an early bird ordering special once that is over it will go back up to regular price.
