MacrossMan
1/48 till the day I day brah! As cool as the new 1/60's are, only the gargantuan scale of the 1/48 can showcase the sweetness of the Minmay Guard!

MacrossMan
Macrossman is that a 1/48 Max 1A on that shelf in the background Yes, that is the "exclusive" 1/48 TV version 1A max along with a v2 1/60 resting on its belly next to it. Ironically this Minmay Guard was a custom 1/48 Max VF-1S. Figured I could sacrifice it since it wasn't made in 1/48 scale...that way I got to keep my Roy VF-1S. Wow... over $5K worth of toys there. I wish I even had half of that. You need a really big display stand my bedroom looks like a BIG TETRIS GAME hehehe   and you need to start replacing the v1 valks with v2 valks some friends says the same, but I have the complete V1 collection and is more the sentimental value more than the money value for me. the v1 is for me, like the old bandai and takatoku is for the first macross collectors. thanks for your words Edited September 11, 2009 by maximilian_jenius

Holy sh*t, MavrRick. 'Your shipment' deserve its own thread! thanks.. nahh.. i don't wanna end up getting a custom title like some people here.. Oh! I wish customs would allow me to pass such a large shipment Oh! And I also wish I had the money for such shipment Congrats Mave! Enjoy it! three boxes we're being used at shipping them.. and have it shipped at 3 days interval as local P.O. Officials here could be pesky enough to pin you to the point of offering them cold cash under the table.. i prefer buying things in bulk/batch.. so it'll be quite a while before i do another hauling. thanks Holy crap, man! I'm surprised you can afford a house to put them in after that shopping spree! space is actually not a problem.. i live in a house with basically 6 rooms.. and i only have my mom staying with me from time to time.. (most of the time she's just enjoying her days living with my sister over texas) so basically i have at least 2 rooms right now that i've dedicated for toys.. one of it, i just renovated and made it my formal display area for Macross and Anime Statues.. i dunno if i should post it the pictures here as well.. Daaammmn! Now that's a lot of valk sweetness there! thanks dude.. macrossman: dude.. i'm so jealous!! max would surely be glad he got chosen to be converted to that MG and yeah.. 1/48 still rules.. i kinda miss this picture... EXO
Holy Cow! Lots of good pics on this page. Toy porn! So this is what this thread would be like without some guy thanking every person that posts... lol. One thing I just noticed with the V.2 Vf-1s is that they go rid of the antenna on the back pack altogether... which is cool since I never display them in GERWALK. logos
logos what did you use to panel line the VF-1J? I used the cheap and simple method. I used a mechanical drafting pencil or you can use a .3mm mechanical pencil and an eraser to add scorch marks/clean up the errors. I did it first with some MG 1/100 Gundams and they turned out really well (the first Gundams I ever bought as well). The trick is: - get the panel lines nice and dark with the lead. - decide on the direction you want the scorch marks to go on the model (so they seem uniform). I used the fighter mode for this as it just made more sense to me. - Take an eraser an smear the lead particles on in the dirction you want to go. I fighter mode I imagined them going from front to back. This will lighten the panel lines up a bit and add some depth to the raised edges of the toy/model. - if it gets too thick take a damp paper towel clean it up a little bit. If it gets to light take the pencil and touch up the lines a bit. I like to use a drafting pencil cause you can really grind the point down to a really fine tip and you can use the grids from the sharpener to dirty up some of the other parts. I will post some more pics of it on Monday if I get a chance. I also used a Gundam eraser tool that I'll post pics of.

Even CF can find something nice from time to time: That night, I thanked God for seeing me through that day of days and prayed I would make it through D plus 1.
