Yeah, I can totally understand the frustration and I'd be saying the same too if I was in the boat that still didn't have a preorder. I've personally posted on at least 3 separate occasions where the 31J preorders had reopened at Amiami and stayed open for several hours. I highly recommend registering at Figinstock as that's where I got my alerts from. I even got an alert for an open box YF-30! With all these preorder reopenings, I'm fairly certain there will be additional available stock come release day. EDIT: Yeah, when I said "easy" it was a relative term. These are still a lot of hassle to preorder!

Yes, these have been the easiest Macross DXs to get since the first Frontier renewal, with preorders opening multiple times and lasting more than a few milliseconds (31J was open at one point for several hours). Of course, it's still much harder than it should be to get an order, since there are still some who haven't secured one. Thanks, Bandai!

I don't have the Figuarts Zero version, so I can't say. I should've picked up one when it was on sale at Hobby Search. In terms of production quality, I'd expect the Figuarts version to be better.

I'm at amazed at how (relatively) easy it's been to get a VF-31 and SV-262. Either Bandai's ramped up production numbers this time around, or Delta's overall crappiness has put off a bunch of people. Or maybe both.

With Bandai stuff, it's usually less a question of "Where can I buy it cheapest?" and more "Where can I buy it at all?" That said, 7300 is a pretty good price.

I've been a regular customer at Amiami for years and I've occasionally canceled an order with them with no repercussions or anything. But I'm aware of their draconian cancelation policy and will generally only preorder stuff that I definitely want and won't cancel (like valkyrie toys) or already released items. For stuff I'm on the fence about, I'll preorder at HLJ since you can cancel easily anytime.

Just a quick look at the SQ game prize Freyja (left) and the Ichiban Kuji Freyja (right). Both actually look pretty good and really capture Freyja's look just right. The overall production quality of the 1kuji Freyja is definitely better than the SQ version, but it's not a huge difference; it definitely wouldn't come close to passing muster as a regular retail price figure like some of the past Sheryl/Rankas could have. SQ Freyja's hair is especially bad. She's essentially a bleached blonde. It's hard to tell from pics, but SQ Freyja also has way shinier skin, making her look more like a mannequin than a, er, fictional animated character (if that makes any sense lol). SQ Freyja also comes with a plastic support column (not shown) to be plugged into the stand behind her, so she'll probably eventually start leaning. I hate it when figures need separate support columns, but it's a cheap game prize figure, so whatever I guess. Although the 1kuji Freyja does cost twice as much, we're talking about 1k yen vs 2k yen. I'll just wait for the 1kuji Walkure and skip out on the rest of the SQ figures. On a side note, the SQ Kaname figure looks terrible. WTF happened to her face?!

You really won't find them at "regular" retailers like HLJ, etc. You can find them on Mandarake, Jungle, or the streets of Akihabara.

Any chance of there being an improved VF-17 adapter? The Yamato adapter is ridiculously far forward from the center of weight.

Did the SV-262 have any kind of fast pack attachments, apart from the Lil Drakens? I kinda mentally tuned out for much of the show.
