Alright, so over the Christmas break my Figuarts Zero Freyja arrived. It's a nice figure... ...except wtf is with the microscopic size?! Left to right: SQ game prize, Figuarts Zero, and Ichiban Kuji versions. This Freyja is noticeably smaller than previous Figuarts Zero releases but costs just much. 4500 yen for what is essentially a glorified trading figure. (I got mine on discount, fortunately.) Compared to a cheap Sheryl trading figure: Expect the upcoming Mirage figure to be the same tiny size, so heads up on whether or not you think it's worth 4 or 5k yen.

Bandai really doesn't want you messing around with the inside of their toys. Most of the screws are completely inaccessible (if there are any screws), and the ones that are you'll find are both screwed *and* glued together and practically impossible to open up without breaking it. Gonna make working on it an interesting experience...

Those are amazing pictures cs, Saburo! Yeah getting the gunpod out is a harrowing experience. I had to tug and tug until it magically released, which makes it sound rather filthy. I'd like to add some detailing, but it looks like the real challenge is figuring out how to take it apart without breaking anything. Arcadia and Bandai really don't want you opening their stuff up!

The Hulk was on sale, so went ahead and picked one up just to pose with my Hulkbuster. -
One of mine had some drops of super glue on the nose cone (you can see it in a couple of pics if you look real closely). I emailed HLJ about it and they said they couldn't replace it because it's sold out and discontinued. They offered me a 20% store credit instead, which was fine. I plan on detailing this baby up, and I'll just sand it off. Someone asked how high the canards should sit. If you push the grey joint attachment all the way down, then pull the canards up as high as you can without pulling up the grey joint piece, then that should be the correct height. Cross-referenced it with the 1/72 and 1/144 models and the anime.

Integrated. I think parts-swapping landing gear on a DX release would be criminal. Thanks! I think investing in a PVC backdrop makes them look way more professional than the piece of cardboard I was using before lol

Gerwalk and battroid pics. I forgot to pull out the sensor pod thingy all the way, but I didn't feel like retaking all these pics. I'm glad to see Bandai used clear paint on all the head sensors, instead of making it half clear and half opaque like the YF-29 sensors. Those skinny arms have no problem lifting a heavy beam rifle. Siegfried & Roy Bandai, give us a transforming Macross Elysion or the kitty gets it! Don't feel too bad, Wright. Watching Delta made me want to commit a war crime too. I like the VF-25 design better, but the 31 is a better toy.

Both of mine arrived before Christmas. Snapped a bunch of quick pics right after opening it. I love this thing! The flat finish and overall production quality is definitely a cut above the Frontier era toys. My only gripe: those f***ing knee mounted landing gears. They're ugly and annoying to pull out. A stand is a must! I really like this insert, for some reason. Much nicer than the plain piece of cardboard on previos DX releases! Fighter pics That sparkly canopy tint is unusual... Lots of surface details. Needs a wash! Love the fighter mode. I guess the CG animators did too, because that's all we ever got to see! With the 1/72 model kit. Compatible with previous weapon sets.

Very common for HLJ to dispense with any discount post-release, though not always. They're pretty inconsistent. You're holding out for the chance of a small discount, essentially. That was fast.

There's been plenty of time since the "damn show" finished airing for anyone to watch it instead of coming to a Macross forum then bitching at people about spoilers. Do we start having to put spoiler tags for Frontier too? There's a statue of limitations on this crap, is what I'm saying.

Of all the Macross shows over the years with their myriad of flaws and shortcomings, Delta is the only one that feels like a soulless byproduct of committee thinking. Forcing Hayate into Messer's shoes as the new grim reaper was completely hollow and meaningless, unlike the natural progression of Hikaru taking over for Roy. They go through the motions but have no clue what the motions represent. That said, I'll still buy all the variants because I love valkyries and am a consumer whore. So I guess the Delta committee succeeded in its goals after all.

Yeah recumbent bikes are my favorites. I've been wanting to get a full recumbent trike for awhile, but they're usually hella expensive.
