Looking good! Unfortunately, Bandai glued pretty much everything together. Even parts held together by screws are also glued, just to make extra sure you can't get at anything. Bandai probably wants you to buy their model kits if you want to customize anything. There's a few things you can remove, like the backplate and arms, though that involves breaking some glue. I was able to take off the backplate, which made adding the missing shoulder sensors 10x easier.

Looks like the 171 armor sets have been disappearing since the release of the 31. Probably just coincidence.

Good review. I'd like a YF-31. I believe the clear parts on the nose are sensors, not fold quartz. They're actually supposed to be set inside a transparent cover, but that would be more expensive. The Tomy version has it painted the way it's supposed to look.

Keep in mind those are crane game prize figures. The final product will be substantially lower quality than those nice painted promo models. I have the previous Mikumo SQ figure and it's terrible. Her skin has a greenish tint to it. Maybe she's supposed to be part Zentradi?

I only meant to dig up and take a pic of the three I had. Then I found I had four! Apparently I've long since lost track of how many duplicates I really have. But now I can have an armored fighter and battroid at the same time! And yes you need super parts! -

Dear lord that's terrible. Seeing that made me immediately check my other 31 to make sure it was painted. I think someone earlier mentioned Amiami actually offered a refund. Maybe try asking them? I doubt they'll replace it as it's sold out, but if you can get your money back you could snag one elsewhere with the money.

I'm glad they made the fingers jointed with no need to swap out for the transformation. There's not much space under the wing. Certainly hands like the VF-1 or VF-25 would not fit in such a tight space. Save the parts swapping for the HMR line, please.
