  1. What the Jedi and Sith both don't realize is in the end they are both wrong in that they both deal in absolutes, it's all light and dark, good and evil with no middle ground with both groups. What would have been awesome, if they had made the movies in order 1->6, is for at the end of Jedi for Luke not to call himself a Jedi but some new name, let's go with Ranger here, imagine this exchange between Luke and the Emperor: E: Yes, strike him down and take your father's place at my side. Luke shuts off his light saber. L: No your highness you'll never turn me. E: Still clinging to your Jedi Ways? Luke looks at Vader, realizes something. L: No, I am not a Jedi, nor am I a Sith, like my father before me I am a Ranger, standing between the darkness and the light, and while he fell I am will bring him back, bringing balance to the force. Emperor snarls at Luke. E: So be it, Ranger! Force lightning, and we go on from there as normal, a small but subtle change with huge implications, especially given how many people Luke has killed in the name of justice and the Jedi. I mean how many people were aboard the Death Stars, and not all were troops, there still had to be a lot of construction workers on both at their destruction.
  2. TehPW, read the book, and don't make that inference from the trailer. I am definitely taking my boys to see this. The trailer is misleading in a lot of ways, probably to suck in the folks who never read the book, but it looks fairly accurate so far. It better be I know that. So do yourself a favor folks, if you haven't read Ender's Game, do so before this comes out.
  3. I just mainlined the first 14 episodes, very cool, have the rest been released yet, or am I just waiting on subs at this point?
  4. The Matrix is one of those movie(s) that gets worse the more you think about it, the logic is horrid, and the multi-level matrix idea would have made everything make much more sense then the garbage that was finally delivered to teh screen.
  5. woah looks lie, they really redid the Klingons too from the brief moment they showed the one without a helmet
  6. I can agree with the Matrix being dead to you, but B5 come on, it might not have ended on a high note, TNT's S5, but at least the story was good, better than what the Matrix devolved into
  7. I would go for the right leg design, looks more robust and better able to carry the load of that heavy looking mech.
  8. As soon as I hear confirmation that those spoilers are not true I will consider going, but if they are true, WTF?
  9. Hmm, I might see this in the theatre just to see the all the SFX on big screen, but will be using my free handicap child tickets to do so.
  10. That is some epic work Polidread, welcome back
  11. So from that clip I got this: the USS Flying Submarine the fighter/bomber scale bird of prey variant Kronos is now Coruscant and that USS Vengeance looks looks like it is a hybrid star destroyer/federation ship
  12. @Terry: You have some serious female image issues. Now I will agree that Hatcher was a good Lois Lane because while older than the guy playing Kent she was still very much in his age bracket. As for Margo Kidder, the smoking is what ruined her, but I never saw her as being too old for Reeves' Kent, just a little older and more seasoned, but that is the point. Remember when Superman was first written the glass ceiling was very much in place in all industries, even newspapers, so while she was more experienced than Kent she still had to work harder to get the good stories instead of him. What most movies have gotten wrong is making Kent a bumbling reporter where Lane has to act like a mommy to him to show him what to do, the Donner films were the absolute worst for this. Looking back at the older comics, toons, and properly done shows Kent and Lane are really equals as reporters, but Lane is the more seasoned and experienced. That being said Adams is a good call for Lane IMHO, who would you prefer, some skank like Megan Fox?
  13. My oldest loves Godzilla movies, kind of like I did at that age, but even he hates the 1998 version, my wife and I tried to watch that movie this weekend and it was so painful. Did any of the leads' careers survive that movie? Also it made my wife and I debate Roland Emmrich, and how his movies have gotten worse and worse the more money they give him for his movies, heck I used to love his early direct to video shlock.
  14. Hardly chunky, she just looks like a real woman, not a stick figure. Also Lois Lane is suppossed to be older than Clark Kent, and depending on which retelling upwards of 10 years older than Clark. Superman returns really got Lois Lane wrong by casting that little scrawny skank as Lois Lane, who was way too young to play her as well.
  15. talk to klavs over on wcnews and sci-fi meshes he does a lot of wc stuff on shapeways
  16. So can you play it like a Kotor game, offline without all the annoying other players, and without having to pay?
  17. Exactly my point, it calls out a popular character from TOS, and gives the character some much needed backstory that is now missing in the reboot, an interesting backstory at that. And, it is not too late to correct that, one scene in the new one could have Kirk talking to Mudd, and then he comments that was Mudd's XO before joining starfleet.
  18. They missed a huge oppurtunity to give kirk some really fan loving back story, imagine if he was in the trek version of the merchant marines prior to landing back home for shore leave, and worked his way up to XO under Captain Harry Mudd, who recommended him to Pike, and told Pike where to find him. Then you make it clear that Kirk is not entering the regular academy, he already has a degree/been through the merchent marine OCS, but instead he is going into command school after which he would be the XO of a federation ship, or a second officer on the Big-E. After that getting the captaincy of the Big-E given his actions during the Nero crisis wouldn't be such a big deal.
  19. SO my wife just started a new job where she works out in the field a lot and needs to be able to fill out reports on the fly. She would like a tablet that uses a stylus so she can check off boxed in the word file and write down her notes right there instead of having to transcribe them later. Also, she really can't type while she is out very easily so native stylus support is a must. So we are thinking a windows tablet or the Samsung Note Tablet, but can it read and write word files? So who has any suggestions, mind you nothing apple, she tried using my disabled sons iPad and that did not work well at all.
  20. I can't think of a single woman I've been with who wouldn't have run away after seeing that display.
  21. I agree with MMX. I was thinking about something this AM on the drive in, Tony Starks dad had to be pushing 60 when Tony was born if we assume that IM and Avengers takes place in modern day, and really if you watch IM, almost everything Tony makes he based on his fathers work, hmmm.
  22. The trailer looks like a mix of Battle Angel Alita verse with some stupid occupy wallstreet twist, given Blomkamps heavy handed preachiness in D9 (and I still like D9), and Damons recent politcal BS I'm not surprised.
