  1. Well when T-Baker left he didn't want to come back for the 5 doctors becuase he had just finished his run like the year before, and after doing it for so long, what 6-7 years, he had to seperate himself a bit, so it is understandable, but he did not throw a fit about it, and after that said he would love to get back into it. Eccelston has completely sworn off Dr Who, partially becuase he did not like the direction the show runners were taking the show, most notably he did not like the gay storylines that were slipping in, and he had some issue with the doctor having a romance with his companion, there were other issues too, but from what I have heard that is the biggest one.
  2. I think one of my biggest issues with the reboot other than the glaring plotholes Nero created, was Kirks rise to power: He is shown starting off as a drunken bum, with no shipboard history after birth, goes to the academy and after graduation goes straight to command the flag ship, sorry I call BS. All they had to do was have some throw away line stating that he served on some ship before he was recruited into the academy command program, maybe even that he was the XO on a civilian transport or something.
  3. very nicely done
  4. eh, really not interested now, a duster keeping pace with two jet fighters, fail
  5. So while driving in this morning I figured to how they are making the Batch into Kahn, or one of Kahn's people off the Botany Bay. Due to the changed timeline one of two things happened, the Big-E find the BB, but instead of sending them to Set-Alpha system they ship them, or at least Kahn/one of his men off to Earth to stand trial for war crimes. Where Section-31 takes custody of him and turns him into an agent. The second option is that the Big-E isn't the one that discovers the BB, and instead another ship does, and sends the crew back to Earth, etc... In that way the cryo-chamber we see in the preview are actually shown in flashback when they discuss where Batch (Kahn/not-Kahn) came from instead of doing a full rehash of Space Seed. When it comes down to the timeline has been modified repeatedly at this point, first when the Ent-E chased the borg back in time, creating small ripples that would effect/cause the temporal cold war. Again several times in Enterprise with that stupid Temporal Cold War, and finally with the appearance of Nero, forever throwing the timeline off course. When you get down to it that is why Nero comments that Kirk is not the same Kirk from his timeline, it's not experience, Nero's appearance, and the other timeline alterations have forever rewritten Kirk's backstory. It's like replaying Mass Effect, and making Shephard the street kid instead of the navy brat, the adventure will proceed along similar paths, but the decisions will be different due to the change in history.
  6. I really don't like that theme song, nor do I like the changes to the characters, especially the major who looks juvenile now, at least in previous versions she looked more adult in her face. I'm just glad it's not as fan-servicy as some part of SAC were, but maybe that will come.
  7. I have to agree with anime52k8 as well, you should use a better reference. As for fitting in the cockpit, I am 6' plus and can fit into the cockpits of many older fighters where pilots were more height limited, with little to no difficulty. Off the top of my head, F-5/T-38, F-86, Mig-17, F-4, AV-8A, BeDe-5 (though I did have to ditch my shoes and the seat pad, or parachute, I could have one or the other, not both). More modern fighters are less height limited, and I've never had a problem with any of them either.
  8. All the little in jokes make it worth it. I took Wrex and Javik everytime I could, my computer nearly died from the snarkiness of those two combined.
  9. That is freaking gorgeous, I would love to see the plans to build one
  10. That 3D printer is gorgeous, and really I'd say it's less than 5 years before a good consumer level 3-D printer is available that people will want to actually buy, at a price that won't break the bank. If I had the money I would buy one of those right now, I just wonder how much the liquid plastic costs.
  11. Very nicely stated DT, I agree wholeheartedly
  12. more plummages
  13. Sorry for lack of updates, but here is the finished S-5000 redesign. I ended up taking off the canards so that I could get in proper retro thrusters. So here is the finished Firehawk in multiple plummages. I still need to retexture two of the guns, but that shouldn't take too long. In the image I show how turning off/on various layers of the texture changes the look. Left most: All layers on. Next: Dirt Layer Off. Third over Base Layer Off, Dirt On. Right Most: Base and Dirt Layers off. Ugh the new uploader and I have issues here are more images in other markings
  14. I liked the B+C raptor as well, just wish they had changed the front end more. I never really liked the regular series raptor all that much.
  15. Megan Fox, yuck, what are you going to do, put her in black face? Sorry but I never cared for the cartoon turtles, original black and white comics all the way.
  16. Well I didn't like how it looked in the end, so I redid the forward fusealge and cockpit area, bubbling the cockpit a bit more and giving it some natural rear visibility. But now I face a dilemma. I cut in the torpedo tubes last night. They looks fine, but now I have a problem with the ramscoop/intake/thermal vents and the retros. I just can't figure out a design for them that I like, and that works together well. So I may go with pop out reverse thrusters that emerge from the dorsal and ventral surfaces, thoughts? I did a little paint work this morning to show what I am thinking of doing. The black and grey bits are the scoop/thermal vents, and the straight red are the potential pop up rev thruster locations, and octoganal black/red bits are where I am thinking of putting in permanent reverse thrusters based on the manuvering thrusters. If I go with the reverse thrusters I may relocate the external hardpoint for the long range missile as well, to put another one there.
  17. Man I can't believe I didn't post this at all before. This is S-5000 redesign. I am not 100% satisfied with it, I'm not sure why, and think I may scrap it and start new. I really don't like how the engine block came out, especially the intake and retros. What I think I might do is this. Scrap everything but wings and the cockpit pod, but even that I will redo. Raise the pit up, and extend it forward. Then toss out even the torpedo pack and redesign it, slimming the whole profile for a slightly longer bird. THoughts?
  18. One of the reasons, amongst many, why I say that the whole franchise needs a reboot, starting with Ep 1 and moving forward. It needs to eb written in such a way too that the big reveals in 5 and 6 regarding family and paternity are still surpises, at least the reveal at the end of 5.
  19. Wow almost a full bag now. You still need the VF-19 series, VF-22, and VF-171 but otherwise it looks like you have all the main universe valks covered
  20. The two green carts, look like start, power, huffer, or Air Conditioning carts, you use them to power a plane on the ground or start them up, usually for Mx or ground tests. The red one, you know I see those out here all the time, but most are yellow here, I think it is a fire extinguisher, a really big one for dealing with airplane fires before the fire department arrives.
  21. Duke it's a bunch of whiney fan boys who won't be satisfied until it comes out, and even then they will find something to bitch about. People calm down, take your pills and just wait until we get some real information on what the movie will be about, who is writing it, directing, and starring.
  22. Question, why are you watching cartoons on the disney channel? They are intended for a child audience, not adult, so what did you expect? What gives me some hope for the future of star wars is the Marvel movies, they are under the disney banner and have been very good for the most part, so if they get the right crew on it, it could be great. Think the Avengers people, thing Joss Whedon writing and directing star wars, that could be a great thing.
