I get the idea of updating the old battroid kit, but not sure if the upgrades in the hip will add much range of movement. I kinda remember the high thigh, intakes being almost right up against the wings. I guess if the wings are unfolded, it probably would help.

I’d be really careful with that one. A quick dab probably wouldn’t do much, but I’d be way to afraid of it doing damage

For oils I usually use mineral spirits or 70% alcohol. Anything higher than 70% seems too harsh on the paints and top coats. Some people love zippo fluid, but I’m usually not around the smoke shops

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

It’s an interesting entry. I didn’t know Poland Spring water was a popular enough item to make such a glorious and meticulously detailed reproduction. And to make it appear as though there was actually water in that was left over. The judges must have been highly impressed -
I remember that one, that story has made me paranoid about the tamiya panel liner ever since. I usually test it out before use on extra spruce pieces and find it to be particularly harsh on certain plastics. Ive never been able to find the flory’s washes, but I usually either use an oil wash or water color pencils.

You’re definitely correct about those two films taking energy away. But I don’t think this movie had a marvel or dc budget and it did seem to have some good numbers internationally as well. Seems more nerds and geeks feel a closer bond to Dungeons and Dragons than they had for Shazam and Antman, but I don’t really know all the numbers on this one and maybe it won’t break even right away or at all.

Definitely an underrated band. They have some of my favorite songs and one of my all time favorite albums. Although this song came earlier than my favorite album, most had a few I can’t get enough of. This song and Rain are my favorites from the Love album. My favorite album of theirs is Sonic Temple. I could listen to that album start to finish and start over again and probably again and not be bored. Beyond Good and Evil has my favorite song of theirs, Rise and was a pretty good album for one of their later ones. I also gotta say that it takes some real guts and talent for Ian Astbury to have stepped in for Jim Morrison with members of the Doors for a stint with them. I also gotta add that Ian was so animated playing a tambourine when I saw them a couple decades back that somehow he made the tambourine seem like a cool instrument

Those are pretty creative -
I’ve done brush painting entire kits in the past and I’m so glad I stopped. I still do small parts here and there or use them for weathering, but the builders that surprise me are the ones that brush paint entirely with lacquer paints. I feel like the airbrush is an immense time saver even with the fact that you might have to take time to clean it or mask the kit. These days there seem to be easier methods for hand brushing. My daughter got into Warhammer and they have been using speed paint techniques that look like they could be pretty useful on the pilot figures. As far as chipping, I sometimes use a water color pencil in a shade slightly lighter than the base color an somewhat randomly tap the kit closer to higher spots and then use a gray one to draw little scratch marks in the middle of those first marks to make it kinda look like older paint that’s been chipped, but I think it’s a bit of a slow process and might go back to the sponge method.

The comic designs for the turtles are still my favorites

My daughter saw it and really enjoyed it. She said it was far better than expected. Now I guess I gotta find time to check it out

Are you all sure that you’re not supposed to put the sponge through the airbrush?

You could try searching Canadian sites. I don’t know any in particular, but I’m sure a google search would work

That’s what I was hoping to hear. Sounds like a fun movie, and seems to be surprisingly good to the people I’ve heard from

I double checked that I had these preordered. Looks like they’re finally coming out this coming month, probably at the end.

I didn’t notice the kites either. Oops

The face doesn’t look as bad as some of the other ones, but still looks like he’s wearing some dudes undies on his face

It’s a pretty good looking figma, but really expensive for me right now. I also kinda liked their JSDF soldier, but I really don’t want to pay over a $100 bucks for a figma that isn’t a must buy item. Action figures are really getting pricey these days

If all the Japanese sites sell out, then often American sites have them available. Try Entertainment Earth or Big Bad Toy Store or USA Gundam Store. Just remember that they will get product later and have higher price attached. But if you’re in a pinch and totally missed out on something you really really want, then at least there’s an option

I have a feeling that that’s gonna be an actual Bandai release eventually. Might be a standard release, but probably a web exclusive. I do love seeing people excited enough to do their own customs though
