That old school Vash looks way too shiny

I totally agree. This thing would sell even on standard release. This is the first Spawn figure I’ve been really interested in in a while. And as others have stated the first kickstarter Spawn was a great idea, but it had that look as if they meant it for a fixed pose statue and then added joints in awkward ways.

It’s tough to be interesting when every enemy is gone or friends. It does get a little more entertaining, but in very forced ways unfortunately. I think after I have time to forget these episodes, the next ones will be more fun.

It’s probably for the best, English dubs haven’t been all that great in a long time. Some dubs back in the 90’s were actually really great, but I struggle to think of many or any recent ones. I’d probably get ticked off the moment I heard an English voice actor say “even so” again for the millionth time. I swear that there must be a rule that every English dub has to include that line in every project they work on , sometimes several times as though there’s a quota

The ones on the toys don’t actually transform the way they’re supposed to. It’s one of those odd animation things that doesn’t translate to real life, so the fighter feet look more proper to how it was meant to look, but the battroid feet will never match that, so Hasegawa did one set for the battroid to look more like the animation and the odd ones that don’t look quite right are to appear as though they never change shape at all between the two modes like they do in the animation. Most of the toys just kinda compromise between the two appearances but hasegawa tends to like the idea that the fighter is the ultimate shape and the battroid is secondary. that’s why the battroid intakes on the VF-1 are so big that they get in the way of mobility. In this case they were nice and decided to give two options, the ones that would be realistic which look weird or the ones that look better for battroid

I dunno ... these pictures look super toy like. Not sure if I wanna buy one. I have two plamax VF-1 fighters already. It will probably look a lot better with some paint and weathering

Batman: Caped Crusader (Series) [Prime Video]
Big s replied to pengbuzz's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, a basic hero in a time with limited technology would make for a more interesting Batman. And a Superman in an era without doubt post WW2 like very late 40’s or early 50’s would be great as well. I do think Batman would work better int the 20’s or 30’s though in an era of recovery from the depression that’s still has some rampant city crime. Maybe Start with Batman a bit younger in a slightly more grim era in a gritty Gotham and maybe being a few years of experience by the time Superman shows up from outta nowhere in an age of awkward retro science and sometimes less than friendly alien visitors.- 50 replies

Might have to get this one. That old medieval Spawn in the background was my first Spawn action figure years ago, although it was the basic blue color

Gundam Show Thread - MSG thru GQuuuuuuX
Big s replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The American voice acting is terrible to an extreme here. I’ll probably check it out since the Zeon’s were always more likable than the feds, but there better be a subtitle version that doesn’t sound like crap. If there isn’t, I’m turning it off the moment I hear someone say “even so”.- 4010 replies

It would be very easy at this point. All they gotta do is change the tip of the fast pack

The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

That light blue looks so much better than light purple -
I feel the same about Plamax. A few odd fighters and two battroid kits, one being the 1D, but no 1D fighter yet and a bunch of 1A fighters, but no 1Abattroid yet. All the gotta really do to make me happy would be a kit with all head pets for the battroid and same for the fighters and basic decal sets and then I wouldn’t have to wait, but I guess they really want you to pick up each release. Also no gerwalk yet. these two companies are both doing VF-1 kits, but trying so hard not to get in each other’s way over super slight variations

Probably gonna be a while since max factory has theirs coming out pretty soon
-
I’ve been complaining about that ever since it came out. They easily could’ve made it to where these clean red pieces just pop in with a simple bit of extra backing and the holes already open. It wouldn’t have even been more plastic or anything really.

Yeah, Hasegawa is definitely learning some big lessons compared to their old battroid kit i started small on the holes and slowly made them a little bigger with a needle file until it was just wide enough to still hold the lense without falling through , then used a little extra thin cement around the edges. If you use a little panel lining on the round pat of the plastic where the unclear bits are, it makes a good guide to let you know if you’re still centered

It’s up for preorder at the usual spots. Hope they do a strike battroid next
-
Rogue wasn’t even announced until after the show and is still in development and won’t be out til next year. Jubilee isn’t even up for preorder yet, but I guarantee that the decision to go with her is based on her appearance in the 97 show. Sure , they may be doing comic style but they’re trying to do a cash grab for anything with a bigger media attention. Medicom is trying to strike while the iron is hot and occasionally luke warm. And trust me, I totally get why you think there should be an Ice Man figure, but it’s probably gonna be a while, if they do it at all. As I’ve stated above, there’s a certain difficulty of making that figure cost effective and then there’s gonna be the question of relevance in the modern era. If he were to pop up as a regular appearance in the show or even a movie spot in the upcoming marvel films, then there’d definitely be a higher chance we’d see him sooner.

I like Junkyard Joe, he’s a cool concept for a toy. Kind of a bit of an interesting choice there. His comic was actually pretty interesting. I haven’t actually read many lately, but a buddy had it and let me check it out at work
