Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in theaters Dec. 16, 2016
Mazinger replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Enjoyed it a lot. Has a different feel from the nostalgia monster that was Force Awakens. Interestingly, I found half the easter eggs superfluous, though everyone in our audience cheered when they popped up. Plenty of X-wing action. I wouldn't mind if the so-called "one offs" were a separate and more "serious" set of SW films like this was. -

Ha, that first one referenced a park where I used to run Cross Country competitions in High School. John Wayne is the second largest airport in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. Shocking to here that there is only *ONE* guy to give guidance! Crazy!

A friend to play with the Spartas. Still a work in progress. I'll say this after trying to get the sled to scale with the bioroid, knowing that the enforcer dudes in the show also piloted them, there is A LOT of anime magic going on there. The enforcers were supposed to be just a tad taller than your average human, and yet they should be able to fit in the head of the bioroid! Meanwhile, the bioroid is the same size as the spartas through the series! WTFunk!?!

Something I've slowly been working on and off for a while. The sled needs a lot of work, the bioriod is a lot farther along.

Not sure how this escaped my attention before, but I just noticed that Kawamori did some design work for the original GitS movie. Anyone of hand which designs are his in there? The tachikomas perhaps?- 751 replies

No wonder SMS and the NUNS got wasted at the beginning there!

That shade of blue should be designated by Pantone as Max Jenius blue and be available from every one in every type of paint.

I tried to play through the game, but I'm not sure the actual playing has aged all the well, at least in comparison to the newer Macross ACE/Frontier/Utlimate games. The story is compelling though and this would be really cool.

Just got back. A good movie, definitely cerebral like Ex-Machina, though less action oriented. My wife gives it thumbs up too. There's a mention of one of the ships being about 1500 meters long and some shots inside the ship that would allow for forty-foot tall people to walk through. Obviously I've got Macross on the brain.

I will do my best to never allow any of my money to end up in Harmony Gold's pocket, so no, I won't giving money to Sony neither for a new video release nor the supposed vapor-ware of a movie.

I just ordered a Max through Ami Ami. Took the opportunity to get some Delta mecha colles and some 1/72 Delta kits. I think that does me until we see some more HMR battroids or enemy mecha.

Posing one of my latest, a Megahouse Hi-Spec Orgoid with an old Takatoku Ishkick. I think they scale well together. Here's a pic with the small pilot figure from the Takatoku: -
Version 3 with some color matching improvements. Some parts still elude me, but I've got some other lego projects that need more immediate attention at the moment.

Doctor Strange, in theaters November 4, 2016
Mazinger replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Curious if the movie induced vertigo or nausea ? I got a bit dizzy during the first trailer and want to take my wife to see it, but her tolerance of "shaky-cam" stomach effects is even less than mine. I know this movie doesn't use shaky cam as technique, but a lot of the visuals are constantly whirling.- 94 replies
