  1. I think it's important to remember that fighter mode, while not bad, has never been the strength of the KitzConcept. If the improvements make Guardian better without completely ruining fighter mode, then it's still probably a step in the right direction. If the backpack is high but the toy looks more level, then they just picked a different poison. There are still areas for improvement... like you said, the landing gear length is a glaring issue. As for ThreeZero... I'm going to believe that when I own one. I'm guessing it will cost twice as much as the KC and be half as durable without much upside... if it ever gets made at all.
  2. I was able to get all the thumbnails to show up but the gallery items were no longer links that led to the full size picture. That sort of thing happens when wordpress rolls out an update. I went ahead and fixed all the gallery settings so now things should work properly. If you're getting the red X for images, that's something different, maybe it's a slow server and it's just taking too long to pull the data? I don't have a lot of time to produce new content right now but I appreciate the heads-up on maintenance issues..... don't want the site to seem totally abandoned.
  3. Which pics were you trying to open? Things seem to be working fine for me but it's hard to tell if it's just because things are cached. You can see in this pic that the big issue in fighter mode was the gargantuan intake which we know is because of the emphasis on other modes and articulation. The minor geometry issue that was causing fighter mode to look like it would naturally ascend (nose pointed up if thrusters were horizontal) is so minor it's barely noticeable. Here you can see that the original mold also did very well: Of course, when I update the review I'll do a V1.0 to 2.1 comparison of the VF-1S.
  4. I loved Letterkenny but I haven't been able to get into the newest season. I don't think they have anywhere left to go with it. Definitely a lot of fun for the first several seasons though.

    Arcadia VF-5000G

I wish these companies would start splitting the runs up like it looks like KitzConcept just did. They can produce 500 units and get the minimum factory run but do it in several paint schemes.
  6. Huh, it seems like they genuinely wanted the backpack to sit up higher. If they wanted the backpack to sit up higher, that also explains why the pegs are so big as they'd have to reach farther to nest. Maybe they intended to modify the backpack mold to move the slot higher. The good news is, it seems like modifying the backpack part would be an easy fix for KC to implement later if this is not what they intended.
  7. You can't get them to put it on a boat? I remember I used to get coffin sized boxes via boat back in the day!

    Bandai DX VF-31

Thanks Mommar! I was able to dress it up properly.... though I gotta say, I prefer the standard mission pack 9 times out of 10.
  9. "I miss the janky art" isn't something you hear very often... but custom boxes are fun. I'm getting jealous, I just heard something by my door and ran out hoping it would be mine... but alas, just ta neighbor closing their car door.
  10. Those missiles and guns seem like they'd be a great carrot for a variant. I don't know though, I've only heard Sentinel consider making a blue version.
  11. My guess is that it will be CM's sized but with Toynami sized wingspan. Sentinel stuck to the canon Mospeada measurement for the Legioss even though that is crazy hard to do so I think they will try to do the same for the Tread.
  12. So you guys think it's bigger than the CM's?
  13. If they stay true to the Mospeada measurements, the Tread should be similar in size to the CMs... Though I think that exercise further proved that canon Mospeada measurements were a small.
  14. It's too bad this line doesn't have little action figures that work with the mecha.
  15. Yeah, it's missing the bomb rack in bomber mode... Must have only had one of that part for the show.
  16. I honestly don't care if a pilot can go into it but I'll bet it will since Sentinel has been really embracing the challenges. The head thing is curious, if that's the head, the plate around it must rotate around at some point since the soldier mode doesn't have the notch in front of the head.
  17. Well, this gives KC the chance to make some minor paint changes next time they decide to make more of these schemes to make both versions collectable! I have a Max and Roy on the way. I ordered the others from BBTS 'cause I needed a way to PO without paying up front... too broke for all those simultaneous POs!
  18. Man, it's been so long.. I may have to rewatch the earlier seasons.
  19. Having received my DX VF-31J fold projection unit, I asked in the other thread about what episode it's from. Mommar pointed out it's in episode 6 (thank you Mommar!). It turns out episode 6 is also the basis for the first portion of Passionate Walkure so I watched it... and continued to watch the entire movie for the first time. I really didn't like it. Some of it is on me. The movie is called Passionate Walkure and clearly the focus is on the girls but I desperately wanted the focus to be on the plot. So many critical elements are resolved via a single sentence of exposition here or there that the whole thing just feels like a jumbled mess. Some of the transitions were LOL bad. Going from Messer's death at the ruins to the girls are prisoners and Hayate and Mirage are sneaking around on the ship was a fun "Oh, I guess this is how things are now" moment. Here's my suggestion for a Delta movie trying to stay true to the plot without sticking to what was animated (here comes the fan fiction baby!) We open to Walkure performing while Delta quells a VAR uprising somewhere. Freija is already a member. It is revealed that this was Mikumo's first performance with the team and everyone is AMAZED at how well she did for a girl that just came out of no where. We get the backstory of Walkure and how it arrived at this point. The girls are trying to get to know Mikumo but she's a real mystery and she's got a professor type guy always tagging along and whisking her off when things get weird. Walkure receives an invitation to Windermere to perform for Heinz's birthday. Windermere. It's the only planet that hasn't had a Var outbreak. NUNS has been kicked off the planet some years ago and is forbidden from approaching it. Walkure lands on Windermere and performs a concert with airshow. Obviously this should be animated totally different from the rest of the film and be way over the top as is Macross movie tradition. The aerial knights are unimpressed, little prince loves it. Roid uses the concert to confirm his suspicions that Walkure is using fold waves to combat Var AND that those fold waves have an effect on the Protoculture ruins on Windermere. Hayate goes on a date with Freija, sees the planet, gets the NUNS war backstory, sees the rift left from the bomb. They come back and it's the prince's birthday party at the palace. Bogue shows Hayate his father's VF-22 and impresses on him how much he'd like revenge. Mikumo spends quality time with the girls and seems like she's coming out of her shell. The next day Delta and Walkure head out to the Protoculture ruins just as a massive NUNS contingent is arriving at the planet. NUNS finally has proof that Windermere is responsible for VAR and is going to capture the planet. Mikumo is the Star Singer reborn and Delta needs to place her in the protoculture ruins so she can negate Windermere's ability to invoike Var/nullify the prince's control throughout the star system (this mission is why they accepted the invite to a non-VAR planet). When they get there, Roid is waiting with the Knights. The ruins launch as the Sigur Valens (or whatever it was called) capturing Walkure on board. Keith kills Messer. Delta drops back and regroups at Elision (or whatever it's called) while the Sigur lays waste to NUNS. Var impacted NUNS soldiers throughout the star system are also showing up and attacking the NUNS contingent from Earth (not impacted by VAR because they didn't eat the water and apples). While the prince's singing is enough to invoke VAR and control VAR afflicted individuals, he's not strong enough so Roid escalates to his unified mind plan. Mikumo awakens confused, on a stage, in some Protoculture induced dream, and is urged to sing. She begins singing and people begin losing their independent thought and the rest plays out like the finale did. She's reached by the other Walkure members singing, changes her tune, Keith defies Roid. We end with NUNS essentially having been obliterated from the star system and Windermere is free. There's some "who was the real bad guy" drama. Mikumo is like "Okay, what do I do now?" Roll credits. That's my stab at condensing all of Delta into a 90 minute movie ending with 30 minutes of hardcore mech porn peppered with J-pop.

    Bandai DX VF-31

So I just opened my VF-31J Fold projection unit. Surprised they downgraded the packaging but no big deal. Can anyone point me to the episode/movie the unit is used in? I feel like I should brush up on the content a little.
  21. It's Lunar New Year right now also so don't expect updates on a lot of things for a little while.
  22. Yamato is bankrupt. Many of the folks from Yamato started a new company called Arcadia. Arcadia even owns some of the old Yamato molds, like the VF-1. Arcadia makes much fewer products than Yamato did but they DO support the Macross Zero line. The Arcadia VF-0 toys are generally big improvements from the Yamatos and they also have an improved SV-51 you should check out. Do note that Arcadia toys are built in much smaller quantities with much higher price tags. Bandai is also about to release a Hi-Metal R VF-0 toy that should have an attractive price point for a smaller (1/100ish) toy.
  23. ExoSquad! Was that 90s? If they redid ExoSquad with talented mech designers it could be epic.
  24. I suppose it's possible but nothing about my order is linked to anything and I've never brought it up.
