C'mon, it's a sequel to a 30 year old plus movie.... obviously you would hand the reigns over to JJ Abrams. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

I have lots of strong opinions on modes of economy and their intersection with politics... but MacrossWorld isn't where we discuss such things. Star Trek, was a pioneer. It dressed up societal observations and critiques in fun ways. TNG and the later shows were sort of grown up versions of that. My 2 cents though is that the audience is very sensitive to allegory at the moment so crafty films have to be much more subtle about such things and ST isn't a great vehicle for that. ST was able to do it in an obvious way because it was a trailblazer and then in a slightly less blatant way in later shows when it was more understood. Now? I don't know. As much as I like Star Trek, it's hard for me to imagine where it can go. Dumb action film makes sense given how much audiences want to claim they're victims to Hollywood overreach. It's also such a long-lived property that it's crippled by its own history. Fans have too many expectations. "That completely conflicts with episode 22's line of dialog..." "My Picard wouldn't say that!" yadda yadda yadda. I think it's time for Spaceballs 2.

Canopy is definitely hard to open the first time. Try lifting straight up at the back of the canopy.

This was a show I always found amusing rather than funny. I think lots of people could do Bender justice... guess I'm not a big enough fan for me to see this being a hang up.

Shouldn't a catalytic converter make it impossible to shoot flames out of exhaust. GASP! Is Batman a polluter? Saving Gotham at the expense of the EARTH? REALLY BATMAN? I wonder how the EPA feels about Tesla wanting to put solid rocket boosters on their cars? On a serious note, the lighting would look spectacular on a street rod... it is a bit silly for someone who is trying to lay low but I suspect on the suspension of disbelief scale, it's going to be a minor thing.

The 31AX line has a lot of room for greatness if Bandai makes a few minor tweaks so it will fit together better. It does feel like a double dip though since it's not that different from the 31 toys we already own.

It appears the site has come down again. I'll try to get it sorted tomorrow if things don't work themselves out.

Yeah, I think that's the simple solution: A fixed posed hand with a steep cock at the wrist to offset the angle. Also agreed, holding it more like a rifle than a pistol makes a lot of sense and is more fitting to the design of the gun (and looks cool to boot!). Kawamori should put a bit more thought into the gun next time around... this grip is an ergonomics nightmare.
-
I guess any gun with a stock might be held at an angle while braced... So I don't know, it may seem awkward but not really be that off.
-
I suspect this one is a Kawamori issue.. I wonder how it's handle in the anime. Did the 3D model just let the grip go through the forearm? We shall see.
-
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about: You can see to the left that the grip of the gun is a big U and the back of that U lands right where the forearm is. On the right you can see that this means the gun must be angled away from where the hand points because of the conflict of the grip and the forearm. Imagine shooting a gun that was always point 20 degrees off from where you pointed. I suppose a Valkyrie could automatically compensate for this but I just wanted to confirm I wasn't missing something or doing something wrong. It's a left/right issue so the downward sloped hand doesn't change it.
-
I just got mine to battroid for the first time... and I don't understand the gun at all. I can used the fixed posed hand to hold it but it's at an unnatural angle. The back portion of the grip interferes with the forearm. Anyone got a good trick to make it better?

Article I read said that they were still negotiating with the voice actor.
-
They should have sold each one with a different mission pack.. of course they'd need to figure out a way to have that into the show.

Sorry, the improvements I were referring to were your earlier conversation about the intakes latching better in guardian. If the tweaks from 2.0 to 2.1 mean the intakes lock better then it's probably still trending in the right direction, despite the curious decision with the leg pegs and backpack.

I think it's important to remember that fighter mode, while not bad, has never been the strength of the KitzConcept. If the improvements make Guardian better without completely ruining fighter mode, then it's still probably a step in the right direction. If the backpack is high but the toy looks more level, then they just picked a different poison. There are still areas for improvement... like you said, the landing gear length is a glaring issue. As for ThreeZero... I'm going to believe that when I own one. I'm guessing it will cost twice as much as the KC and be half as durable without much upside... if it ever gets made at all.
