  1. The Legioss toys also have those 'for future use' type clips.
  2. Huh, it looks like the Stick and Ray figures were transposed in the toy version. Still super fun way to display them!
  3. Maybe Mirage sold out quick?
  4. This year, I'm almost certainly going.
  5. I believe a primary difference from Yamato to Arcadia was a shift from viewing themselves as toy company to more of a part-time model. I would guess Arcadia has very few full-time employees at this point and it's more a labor of love for most involved.
  6. I very much doubt they're making this to gauge our interest on new destroids. The existing destroids sold terribly for Yamato; it's hard to imagine Arcadia would entertain an entirely new mold. Arcadia probably just saw the after market value on these things had climbed enough to warrant putting more supply out.
  7. I just did WDW also. I hadn't done the previous system but I'm relieved I didn't need to book things 60 days in advance and was instead able to book it the morning of. That system seems a lot more fair for people who are going to Disney on more of a whim. I did pay extra for Rise of the Resistance lightning lane. I wish I hadn't ridden Mickey/Minnie's runaway train earlier that day since it's essentially the same ride with the Mickey's shorts theme instead of Star Wars... sort of sucked the novelty out of the experience. I had never ridden the Aerosmith coaster and it's awesome. I had always wondered what a more grown up version of Space Mountain would be like and that's exactly what the Aerosmith ride is. Slinky Dog line is soooooooooo much longer than it should be. We waited a bit less than an hour but people were waiting far longer later in the day... I agree with JVM that the ordering of food through the app is super clunky. You order your food before you want it. Then you click "I'm here" and wait for your food like you're in line even though you're not, then you get your food and it's like "Was this really any better?" For Magic Kingdom, taking advantage of the late hours is definitely the way to go. Leave the park from 1PM-4PM, enjoy a ciesta and/or swim, then head back and stay until 11PM. My kids are elementary school-aged and while the youngest was conking out on the bus ride home, it was still worth it. The Dwarf ride has some cool video stuff in the photo pass, but as a rollercoaster, I don't know that I would put it above Thunder Mountain. Is Thunder Mountain themed after anything in particular or is it a clue what the next big Disney franchise is going to be? When using genie +, remember that you get a new pick every 2 hours, not just when you use your last pick (though you might have to wait until 10AM so it's 2 hours after the park opens, I wasn't clear on that). If you book a noon ride at 8AM you can book again at 10AM and then again after you use your noon ride.... though by noon I found the only lighting lanes I could get were for rides that would have almost no standby line. The pool at Port Orleans French Quarter is legit for kids but they could use a better hot tub situation for parents.
  8. Man, I ordered a refrigerator on Black Friday. They told me it would be available in March. I just called... now it's "possibly the end of September but that's still a preliminary number." There's a very good chance I will get my fridge more than a year after I bought it.
  9. Adding the Yamato Ghost to an Arcadia 0A feels wrong. You can make the ghost work but it feels like it would break over time. The add-on weaponry basically doesn't work without thickening up some pegs.
  10. The ghost seems like a low-hanging fruit for Arcadia... it's not a complicated mold so it wouldn't be crazy expensive to make. I think the problem is the new VF-0 toy is so expensive that a bundle would be out of too many people's price range and a standalone offering doesn't seem like it would sell very well. I think they should announce a 0A reissue with 0A PF and announce the ghost to follow it like a month later to try to grab some sales that way.

    Hi-Metal R

Sadly, we don't have a lot to go off of to answer that question. Should be a 30% smaller but might otherwise be really similar... or might have swappable parts. Until Bandai does an info dump with the PO going live, there will be questions.
  12. Wow, pumping out the ultimate shelf-warmer again? Bold strategy. I'd be down for a PF but already have the one I need otherwise. HMR is a much better scale for destroids as it makes getting a trio or more feasible from both a price and real estate in the display case perspective.
  13. I like the LOOK of the Auroran but, like the rest of Southern Cross, it felt clunky. Even in space mode it still looks like a futuristic helicopter so it's got that "three modes by slightly changing the second mode instead of three unique modes" thing going on for it and leaves the door wide open for that "helicopter in space" bashing. Following up on the use of the VF-1's guardian mode, the utility of an attack helicopter also felt greatly diminished and I'm not sure the show even features the Auroran operating in helicopter mode. IIRC, Robotech's butchering of the original show even has the Auroran fighting a few times before it is put into production. Didn't the humans also have some samurai bot destroids that just.... kinda did nothing? The alien designs were derivative but I'd give them higher marks than the human ones.
  14. Should be fine. I think the 0A had the worst time with the leg and released since then have been better.
  15. I come to Macross world for the toys, I stay for the camo pics.

    Bandai DX VF-31

As far as wiggly parts on a toy are concerned, that was like a best case scenario! Glad you didn't find any damage when you got in there.
  17. Does anyone know about the quality of the Discotek blu-ray? Do they look good?
  18. Yes, it's not natural, but if the part blew off and the valk is twisting and moving forward, it at least seems like it could happen... Like one out of a thousand times.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I have a 31J out and just checked it. There is a little wiggle there on the left arm, the right arm is tighter. The left arm didn't seem precarious though, I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't look specifically for it.
  20. C'mon guys, we're talking about explosive bolts in space plus the limitations of the medium. Imagine everything is spinning and maybe colliding.
  21. I don't buy statues but I think this is one of only a couple Macross mecha statues I think looks cool... maybe the SDF-1 beast they made as well.
  22. In theory, changes like these can be implemented very quickly, certainly over a few weeks. I haven't spent a lot of time reviewing the problem but it seems like we're probably only talking about a couple parts that need very minor alteration. If they don't have a rep with close proximity to the factory it could take longer as things get shipped back for feedback. There's better odds that it was addressed if Bandai knew the problem with Hayate and started addressing them for Mirage before the customers started complaining. I think they knew... The nosecone is the only thing I can recall needing attention on the DX VF-1 and it got it... unless you want to talk about bigger design issues like those removable legs.
  23. I'm going to be in the other camp, I think Mirage will be a much better toy. The AX wasn't off because it had design faults, it was off because of very small tolerance issues. I think Bandai can work that out and I'm sure they've been hearing it from local fans that it's not as nice a product as the VF-31. Bandai changed the nosecone on the DX VF-1 after the first release, it's not like they don't listen to feedback. My fingers are crossed.
  24. I think this gets more confusing because of regional market differences. Jetfires sold in Europe may not be the same as those sold elsewhere, etc. The nature of the manufacture also means there may be fewer bright lines. Head lasers leftover from the previous run may be used until they were gone and then replaced with ones from the newest mold. So it may be that toys after date X typically have these changes... But there may be some that don't. I vote "backpack thrust nozzles" for that part. I think the "4" is probably a part # to help with assembly rather than a version. Curious we don't see more #s on other parts though.
