  1. At $250 I probably would have bought two, but no biggie. I might cancel my Ultra fattimus' though, that should make up for it. haha
  2. If they offer it, and you PO it at that time, you get the discount. Its usually a site wide thing. They might not offer it for this release.
  3. It's usually not a lot. 10%?
  4. TF the Movie is the best TF film or show ever made.
  5. That means it's fixed then. They fixed the ankle issue with the "unknown soldier" realse and most of the nose cone droop. It would lock into place and hold its position. I have no clue why that wouldn't follow over to this release. So I'm confident it won't be there, even if you're right that it didn't change. But yeah, I think this is just the reality of collecting high-end toys in the middle of the decade. Hot toys regularly sell now for close to $300 dollars when they used to be sub $200. MP re-issues are generally $270ish when they used to be $140. We've all discussed it endlessly. Do you think it's worth $50-$100 dollars more? Or are people just upset that it's not sub $200 like the VF-1's? I can see your point about paying through the nose for something that's been released and is hard to find. That's how the market works. People begin to pay more because of scarcity as the average price increases. Why sell something cheap when other people are making that much? However, there is a precedent for re-issues coming out at aftermarket prices. I'm sure Arcadia is basing their MSRP on cost and what they think the market will bear due to the YF-19 sales. At the end of the day Arcadia is out to make money, so they are going to ask as much as possible. At least this version isn't a straight up re-issue and has re-tooling and stands alone as it's own piece. I don't know, maybe this will be Arcadia's last release. Maybe their business model just isn't sustainable. (Or maybe their release schedule is poor) Can you do model quality transforming toys for lukewarm markets on decades old Anime shows? Nostalgia for SDF and the average age of collectors here and in Japan seems to be enough for now. Is there Nostalgia for Zero? Demand? Hard to say.
  6. People have paid that much for the old Yamato's, so it's not that unheard of. Not sure why people are freaking out. I think I sold my VF-0 Roy for $340 back when the rumors for this toy first surfaced. That wasn't MSRP, but it was what people were willing to pay for a VF-0 at the time. It's a big price jump over the $250+ I was expecting, but I guess with the extra diecast, improved diemensions, and wing parts it's not so bad. It should be a fairly big piece too, almost a 1/48 size. With the typical discounts sans tax I could see it around $320 ish. The Yf-19 is selling for around $300. I didn't buy the 19 because... I don't like the 19 or Plus, but I hope they used that experience to iron out any durability or production issues. I don't think this Valk has any weird gimmicks that would cause issues like the 19 but it better be spot on haha. No loose ankles or broken up lines. A kitbash def. isn't an option. If you're going to do that just buy a model kit.
  7. Maybe I didn't do the right search on man. I saw that NY had them for 200. Didn't see any on jungle. I searched wrong. There are a ton of them up
  8. 25f sold out again most places? Seems to have jumped up to 200 bucks.
  9. Anybody else laughing their ass off at the MP-04 Megatron re-issue. Lets get a new mould already.
  10. Ive seen Dog Soldiers and the Descent. Bother were solid. Has he done any other horror movies lately?
  11. Pure plane porn.
  12. Well.. for one thing.. if they are going to have an ancient evil pop out at the end... why not Cthulhu? Why some giant human hands? Tentacles please. But yeah, it just felt like a sci-fi tv special to me. Also.. horror movies aren't really about punishing kids because they are young. It's about facing down mortal terror that you can't explain, or easily stop. It's a self-inventory of mortality. Also, why would a friggin building full of monsters not attack each other? Like, they are only going to go for security guards? I'd rather see zombies attack the wolfman or some crap if we're going to play that stupid game. Also, the whole movie thinks it's so clever and challenging, but the ending completely relies on the troupe of wrestling for a gun? For realz? And then the motives of the last three characters flip flop back and forth. As with Kevin Smith, I feel like Whedon just doesn't quite have his finger on what makes a good horror film and he's trying to filter it through nerd culture. But I digress... As for the Evil Dead film, I wouldn't say it's a good movie either, but it's fun and violent haha. Also, I hate found footage with a passion. crap bores me to tears. Blair witch worked the first viewing for a reason, and that's about all there is to say about it. haha. Prince of darkness! I should add that to my list. Forgot about it completely.
  13. Haha I could riff on why I don't like cabin the woods much. I liked the concept, but the ending ruined it for me on a lot of levels... plus I think Whedon missed the point of what horror movies are really about in the theme of the film. I can see why people like it, but yeah. As for Evil Dead I didn't think they could capture the quirk of the original, so they just went for bare bones blood and guts. I can respect that. I really enjoyed the burial scene with the plastic bag over the head. For me in October, I tend to stick to movies that are kind of killer-at-night-stalking-prey, or directly halloween/slasher related. I stay away from sci-fi type horror movies, even if they are great. The Thing is one of my favorite movies, period but I don't usually include it. I also stay away from Zombie files because I'm sick of them going on forever now. Heh.
  14. I love the gripen. Would be cool to see a fan racer coverted to one haha

  16. Official song for October.
  17. Hows that new fire valk stack up to the old one? Cool stuf no3ljm
  18. Thanks for the love fellows! Yeah I was a little worried on the 30th where I could snag it with the wire, but it fit nicely around the outside wing edge and gave it a nice tilt. I usually make the front string longer to droop more so I can see the top of the plan in a down slant, though with my VF-11 I kind of like it more of a flat head-on look. I usually tie two knots and pull to make sure it's secure. Then replace the shelf. Instantly more space for more! haha. Saburo - if you go the LED route set that I showed you I'll give you some more tips. I basically picked it because it was the easiest install I could fine, and it seemed to be the brightest. Mounting the lights just take some sticky that is provided, then you push the bracket on, and insert the light tube. All that you have to do at that point is mount the panel to plug in the tubes to the main control and get the wires out of the way. I elected to only do the top and bottom rows and slant the light up so I didn't have to deal with running wires all the way down and out. I'm lazy But it's pretty damn bright. I love leaving it on and killing all my lights.
  19. Nope.
  20. I got 2 sets of lights from Lowes. http://www.lowes.com/pd_696-24994-HTP904E_1z0y4gq+1z10d2u__?productId=3316942&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_qty_sales_dollar|1%26page%3D2&facetInfo=Integrated%20LED It's 8 bars that are really easy to install. I could do with maybe another set on the sides for the middle shelves, but it would be hassle and more wiring to deal with. They are nice because you can rotate the bars in the little arms, and you can change colors/strobe them.
  21. It's fun. I walk around my neighborhood and scare people with a friend. Usually kids will sort of approach me and run off. Usually adults will just walk the other way haha.
  22. It was a 75 Don Post Captain Kirk Mask. They used a mold technique on their faces in an episode of trek and then used those to make the kids masks. They painted it white, cut the eyes out, and ripped of the side burns. The mask used in H2 was the same mask from H1 (or one of them) but the production lady stuck it under her bed for 4 years and was a smoker. So it stretched and got gunky - that's why it looks kinda dirty in H2. I'm a big fan of both haha. The original Halloween is, In my opinion, the best horror film ever made. Definitely the best Slasher and best 80's horror film. There are forums for mask enthuisits and people spend 200-600 bucks on replicas, recasts, and limited run remakes. Also people pay 1,000's for the original kirk masks when they find them.
