  2. I get your points on the Lego building. They have been mostly facades in my childhood too (see 6080 or 6392). And I get that you can easily modify the sets because of the basic nature of Lego blocks. However, with this train station it looks like this is even easier. Just buy three and bush them together like books on a shelf and you have a whole building (of course it is not so easy see for example the elevator). Rant: I also find it difficult to modify current Lego sets with other pieces from current Lego sets. For one thing, they are build with contrast pieces inside that makes building them easier (supposedly). Your bright teal and pink comes to mind. Then you have too many colors nowadays. I was trying to rebuild the Minecraft turtle house and I had three slightly different shades of green to distinguish and sort out. You also have too many different pieces so you are trying to find what you need in a see of greeble. This makes it all in all more difficult to build something on your own. Compared to the 80s where you had a limited palette both in colors and pieces (my child mind was blown discovering a brown Lego piece in my first Pirates set). With the Arctic sets I enjoy them from afar. I didn’t mean to imply that only kids can enjoy them but rather that Lego designed something that my kid self would enjoy. Nowadays my Lego collection is fairly limited to basically Minifig scaled OT Star Wars vessels. My budget (mostly time and display space) is limited so I have to pick and choose what I collect and not just buy what I think looks neat.

  4. I just bought this for an incredibly good price on Mandarake (~$380 shipped); when I receive it I'll be sure to share photos and thoughts on it. Very few reviews in any language on this figure so far.
  5. Looks pretty basic, but I did laugh at the struggle with the phone
  6. I don’t hate the Dom, but the third leg is definitely weird. It’s probably the only thing I really don’t like on it, but there’s already better Dom kits out there. Kinda like the big kneecaps though
  7. The milliput looked like crap and I would say it was unsuccessful. So I figured addition by subtraction will work better. I don’t own a micro saw or whatever so I used a big old hacksaw to cut off the rear. You make do with what you got. It was a mess but I rebuilt it with a few pieces of .5 mm pla to make up for all the material I lost in sawing, reattached both halves and I think it worked out great. In doing so I created a panel line that I was going to scribe in anyways.
  8. Ruh Roh... I'll definitely be looking when I pull mine out for the Tread review!
  9. 😆 just a glitch or it really hates flies. Got a good chuckle, thanks! The Fly Chair. I was imagining this with circus music playing instead of the overly dramatic music they supplied. Try it- it's good for a giggle. From a practical standpoint, I wonder what kind of fuel capacity, service ceiling, and range this thing has. I'm guessing it can't go much higher which would greatly limit its use for any kind of S&R work or recon. Moreover, it's only a single-seater, so rescue's out of the question. Much like Corleo, its cool factor overshadows its practicality.
  10. Do you have a picture where it's located?
  11. Anyone have their Sentinel Legioss crack at the rotating hips? I just took my Eta (original release) off the stand where it's been untouched for months and when I flipped it over to transform, I immediately noticed a hairline crack on one of the hips. Needless to say, really disappointed but am glad that I decided to preorder the upcoming reisuse with the Tread. Checked my Iota and Zeta and they are ok.
  12. I'm bested. Your knowledge of all this stuff truly is impressive. Despite having only just watched Frontier a couple months ago, I don't recall Alto's flying the Shin Kudo actor in a VF-1. I'm sure I spotted it while watching, and likely pointed it out to the wife as I do, but obviously the import of it didn't land. That said, I distinctly remember Ranka's planting one on Alto as they rehearsed the Mao-Shin underwater scene. Perhaps I'm a romantic at heart after all.
  13. To be honest, the main cast of GQuuuuuuX is so underdeveloped that I can't say that either Machu or Nyan feels particularly distinct. Ep5 seems to suggest that the reason we have two female leads is to tease a possible love triangle centered on Shuji. Why either of the girls would be interested in a boy with no apparent personality traits to speak of and the emotional range of a cress sandwich remains to be established. Five'll get you twenty the Red Gundam's Alpha Psycommu is... Huh, yeah... GQuuuuuuX really is the first noteworthy property that Studio Khara has worked on since it was established in '06. What the hell were they doing for the last 19 years besides desperately milking Evangelion fans with mediocre sequels?
