  1. Past hour
  2. My ever-growing mountain of plastic crack [which ALSO includes all the original vf-25 releases] will include at least 1 Tornado... No, thank you, I do NOT have a problem...
  3. Cool. I‘m glad it’s not completely lost. I plan on doing a wash and panel lines later. Hopefully it bring it all together nicely and doesn’t overpower the surface variation too much. This is a fun super simple little plane build so far.
  4. I can see it in the final image when I expand it to full-size. Looks good, nice and subtle like OTEC materials and paint should imo.
  5. Got the main color down on the VF-1 Alaska. Tried out some pre shading in a black metallic over a gray primer, followed by an off white, then went in with the poly fill scraps like my previous build and filtered a very light gray in areas. It’s so subtle and difficult to photograph on my phone. Maybe you can see it in the final two images? Anyway, I’m not sure if it’s effective. Maybe higher contraction would be better? Anyway. I’ll mask off tomorrow and get the green down. This one’s coming together quick. It has so very few pieces and the masking on this color-way is very minimal. edit* wow there is a bunch of dust and crap on the surfaces I will need to buff that out. It always finds a way to get stuck on my painted pieces. I’m cursed
  6. If anything, Bandai should've been smart enough to look at Yamato's sales history, and tried to avoid their mistakes. I don't think anything past the initial Fire Valk release was that much of a hot seller, and I think most of their Macross 7 lineup eventually went on clearance. They were just too expensive for Yamato to develop and produce effectively. Honestly? Bandai may have made the right move financially by not investing in the changes to make a proper VF-17 mold, but we'll never really know if the sales would have been better if it had been good, because Bandai is relegated to playing second fiddle to Yamato for every release. Most of the people who really really wanted those valks in 1/60 already scratched that itch, and that includes the international market. I do think the DX Fire Valk is a slight improvement over the Yamato in fighter mode, but I think the market performance is just putting on broad display that it's not enough of an improvement to garner any real attention. Bandai is just 15 years too late, and they're not doing anything differently enough to stand out from what people already have. They should have stuck with what they had going for them, and finished the 1/48 DX VF-1 line. Even without being able to officially sell them internationally, they would have had a much larger demand, and sold out easily, instead of their fleet of Nightmare Minuses headed to the clearance bin. Yeah, I'm gonna just call it that.. it's a Nightmare Minus.

    DX Chogokin VF-17S

Hey guys who would have guess that Bandai would revive Yamato level discounts, except that Yamato's VF-17 was actually good
  9. Yeah, the toy-ness is why I'm actually not all that worried about the gear clearance, and finer details like the weird arm design. It looks like a really solid toy to fiddle with and casually transform back and forth, which is the opposite of the Sentinel version, and I'm happy to have both. I just shipped my pair earlier today, and I'm glad I got two for the extra parts it'll give me to mess with. I'm almost tempted to go and order more of the other versions if I still can.
  10. Now’s the time to try some Gundam. Try out one of the newer kits if you’re feeling lazy
  11. Got the shipping notification for my Omega about thirty minutes ago. Seems like it's a pretty good figure and I'll be happy to have it in hand. Folks do seem to be enjoying it, along with all the possibilities it offers. Apparently not, which is my main beef with it. I also hope the gear offer at least a little bit of ground clearance for the chest. Yeah, that's such an antithetical statement, it's laughable on its face. Obviously, it's a toy, and people seem to be having fun toying around with it, as they should.
  12. Batman Battle Damaged Version.
  13. Oh wow that’s a great deal! Hobby lobby? I’ll have to see if those exist out here in the PNW.
  14. FYI, the Hobby Lobby by my house has ALL boxed Model Kits for 40% OFF right now! I have a $100 gift card....So I looked around tonight and the 3 Star Wars Bandai kits they had, I've already built years ago, they had the Revell 1/48 Top Gun Mavrick F-18 Super Hornet and the 1/48 Revell Top Gun Tomcat and a small 1/35 WWII Tamiya Tank kit that caught my eye, and also some LARGE Gundam's up on the top shelf that retail for like $90 each. I've never built a Gundam kit, but heck for 40% off I might give it a try! I left without buying anything, but I might go back before the sale ends...
  15. Wow, thank you very much for this. Please keep us updated,
  16. Yesterday
  17. Looks bigger than I was expecting. Also, this figure is how I found out that HLJ doesn’t allow cancellations anymore.
  18. That is sweet !
  19. And we're starting with Chapter 1 - Deep Space War Bird! https://www.tumblr.com/trafalgarlog/812545257042509824/macross-the-ride-1-deep-space-war-bird?source=share In the sea of stars, there is no forward nor backward. It is a world governed by inertia alone, where all one can do is float. It is a hollow world where one neither flies nor advances, merely drifting along the course of another’s vector. Even so, she thought that she wanted to fly. Please enjoy, and stay tuned for further updates!
  20. I, PixelatedShinobi, am funding an English translation of Macross the Ride! Chapter 1 just released, and more will be releasing every month over the next 11-12 months! Macross the Ride was a prose series published in Dengeki Hobby Magazine from 2011-2012, accompanied by custom models by KuWa (Frameoutworks). It is a prequel/sidestory to Macross Frontier and follows Chelsea Scarlett, S.M.S. pilot, as she is sucked into the thrilling and dangerous world of Vanquish Racing in the Frontier fleet. It was collected into two volumes and two Visual Books, but aside from some work to translate the contents of the Visual Books, it has never been released in English. Until now! It can be read here! https://gundamseedastray.blog/ Additional information can be found at @trafalgarlog.bsky.social and @pixeldoesthings.bsky.social!
