  1. Past hour
  2. 2 coats of MR. Surfacer 500 and you likely won't see 80% of the texture. Ad in a pre-sand and post sanding and it should be cake walk, I use a small 400g sanding sponge attached to a vibrating tool to make most of the sanding rough work.
  3. I have never worked with a 3d print before. Is it easy to smooth out the stair stepping texture on the surfaces?
  4. Based the size roughly from a data sheet comparison with all the calks scaled next to eachother. The measured of the Hasegawa VF-19A and had my friend printed it at 15.5" (nose tip to foot.) 1/48(ish) Will be a test bed for plastic type, painting and how it reacts to traditional modeling. If all is well, I've got a Lucifer and Durandal ready to go to the printer too!
  5. Recently got the new BeastDrive mold from 52Toys, Fickle Step. Love messing with this thing.
  6. Thanks for the suggestion. I had contemplated using styrene but opted for putty, sanding and a pain in the neck. Hahaha.
  7. Looks like I'm the only one keeping this thread alive. After waiting all last year for it to release, 52Toys finally released the BeastDrive cat-cum-car and it's nigh purrrr-fect! This is Fickle Step. I'm not too crazy about the dark orange or the brownish decals, but I love the mold itself. I wish they'd reversed the colors, making the body panels orange, and the cat's paws, tail tip, and muzzle white. But, it's a fun kit, a little more complex than their previous releases to transform but still fairly intuitive. I daresay I think this is better than anything Takara would produce if they were tasked with turning a car into a cat. Oh wait, they did that already! Remember Alternators Ravage and Hatchet, the dreadlocked cat-like thing from Bayverse? Alternators Ravage Hatchet
  8. Still looking at my sealed 25G Rev. Wanna open it tomorrow.
  9. Starting to hate I missed the BIJ PO now.
  10. Today
  11. My Tread is caught up somewhere in the new hellscape of US Customs import tax enforcement in Los Angeles. The package hasn't moved in ten days. If it ever gets here, I can look into adapter options if @BroTaku79 and their designer decide it's not feasible for them to make something.
  12. He likes to be immortal in his films and Hanks likes to be the captain, they could team up
  13. Mo picks....
  14. I ended up selling off my Max since I was waiting so long and now had the squad in HMR form.
  15. Stock stands are always mediocre at best. Thank goodness for people like @BroTaku79
  16. The revivals improved the joints over the previous version. Setting up the armored 25F was a gigantic hassle as it was floppy mess right out of the box. Needed to strengthen the hips, shoulders, ankles, and wings before putting it all together.
  17. Pix from Canada! Looking at the song list, they got a good portfolio of her works and the big 4 from Macross Frontier is there! And Encore with Macross Delta's JUNNA with Sagitarius Goji 9pm Don't be late! It's a first time for May'n in Canada but she was there when she's 1 yr old! And it was on 7th August! What a coincidence! May'n epic entrance! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNIE-syufB7/
  18. That's good news, I'm hoping to have mine shipped before the tariffs kick in. Are you seeing the 1/72 Armament Set in stock too? It looked like they would be released together.
  19. Try the used market, eg Facebook marketplace, to save money and you can haggle some. You'll have to research on what you find available though.
  20. With all my orders from Japan generally, and HLJ too, the initial shipping costs are likely an estimate. This is likely due to exchange rates. Also had this with my recent HLJ order and I'm in Europe. Shipping was 32 Euro, then ended up being 26 Euro.
  21. I love the phantom since my dad built and painted a Tamiya kit of it for me when I was a kid. But if I would to invest in a display piece of it, I'd just get a Hobbymasters diecast to fully show all it's sexy lines. That said, I really appreciate Brick Veteran's efforts in his, minus the canopy and the general underneath of the wings in all such mocs. Lego needs to invest in more variety of inverted curved and angle tiles.
  22. The pictures are really nice! A real feast for my eyes. What can we expect from now? Do you have any lead of business, what are you planning? I am asking this because I know that more and more hobbyist have their own 3D printers and could be more than happy with a Stl package to buy and build. And maybe it can help get to the next finalement step?
  23. Spoiler alert.
  24. That would have been 3 films where he's immortal. lol
  25. The seam at the front should be easy to sand. For the recessed area, I would cover it with a strip of thin styrene cut to shape.
  26. You're not missing much on the "sequels"; thank heaven you never saw the cartoon!!
  27. Thanks! When I was a kid, my dad worked for a filter manufacturing company/factory that ordered a lot of 3M Masking Tape. We lived in the projects and could barely get by (factory was the best job my dad could get, as he dropped out of middle school to help his family by working), so most toys and stuff I ended up not getting . If I wanted something, I had to make it myself out of cardboard and masking tape. Over the years, I'd like to think I got good at it. In any event, my dad passed some years ago (WWII vet, died August 28, 2011); I continue to use masking tape to honor his memory and the sacrifices he made to keep us fed, clothed and a roof over our heads.
