  2. I'm been looking into this for a while, especially after some of my white lego pieces from the same set yellowed yet others haven't. Same story with another set but with light grey peices. It's like those really used vintage Stormtroopers from the 70's, where every peice is completely different tone of yellow except for one that is still reletively white. There's many factors behind yellowing and a lot of times is a combination of many elements to even just a single one like humidity or sunlight, or to artificial like cigarette smoke or the chemicals released by it's packaging. Sometimes, and here's the shocker, it's not even about coming into contact with any external element, but just the quality of plastic simply aging. At the end it really comes down to that, to the quality of plastic and paint. With plastic it's initial reaction could be when exposed to the air too soon atfer injection or when the mold isn't cleaned sufficiently between a certain number castings. While for paint, some external element got mixed during application, and for both plastic and paint apparently a likely probability, the chemicals that form them just weren't mixed 100% properly, or some batches just weren't at 100% exactly of all the compounds that form them. And... there's no escape when yellowing starts. Followed a quite a lot of video fixes where the white returns to it's pristine state... but guess what? The yellowing returns and at sometimes even faster after each treatment. I have one interesting item however, a Bandai Gundam Fix Figuration from 2002, the Gerbera Tetra I believe it's called, which is painted all matt white minus the disguise armour. Anyway, it's 23 years old endlessly posed, displayed in humid enviroments, displayed in hot dry enviroments, display in a very sunlit room, moved between 3 different countres, even left it closed in some cheap plastic packet for years and... it's still pure white. Meanwhile, other Bandai items that were once white and barely touched while stored in cool and dark cabinets, are now fit for a desert storm sequel. That said, along with the dreaded yellowing, most of the early 2000s figures and toys made with PVC like the early Kaiyodo Evas or Bandai statues, have an even worse reaction when going against time... they release a sticky thing goo which is almost impossible to remove, and if successful it clearning it off, eventually returns. I can testify to this nightmare with many casualities. And at times, this PVC instead of releasing that sticky goo, dries up so much that it begins to brittle apart, especially at the joints where there's less paint. So diamonds may be forever, but toys sure ain't.

  4. My plan is to display the Sentinel Legioss + Tread in fighter and the Pose + in soldier. Assuming we get a green tread :P.
  5. The Pose+ has cool features too be sure but why prioritize them over full length vertical stabs and a less gappy fighter mode (esp. around the arms)?
  6. That was one of the theories that a former member on the boards mentioned it @Pontus (have zero idea if it’s actually true). Styrofoam and plastic clear trays are made from stuff that can “gas” out fumes and leech onto the surface of the next item that it contacts it, plus that item itself that we got it also may have other materials that have off gasses that may cause yellowing as well. It’s like pleather on some 1:12 and 1:6 scale figures. Pleather is a curse in these things as it know as a cheap version of synthetic leather and it will destroy itself in very humid environments, but there are cases that it has zero effect on other instances. * Sidenote: Bonded leather materials are also s*** as they will definitely degrade overtime and you’ll be left with multiple flake material that looks like snake that just recently molted.
  7. I didn't have any issues with the VF-171EX Revival either. Everything worked and had the right friction right out of the box. The only issues I've ever had with the Revival Valkyries has been with Alto's VF-25F having a one loose shoulder (which I was able to fix), the VF-25F Tornado's loose cannon/back panel, and the recent VF-27γSP joints that I mentioned.
  8. I actually have the renewal 27y and the renewal Alto 171EX with the corresponding add on set @Apok451, so I don’t have to waste my money in getting the Revival versions of each. 🙂 I’m wondering if we’ll ever get a Revival Maruyuma 171EX as I’ve seen the prices on that starting to get to mid to high 30kish yen on those. The yellowing is another issue on those if you do manage to find one at decent price.
  9. I'm only getting storm arena Ken and Ryu because I like their younger looks too, but cancelled Arena's Sagat. Sticking with Jada mostly. I'll buy whoever makes the better females especially the faces. I want more of an anime head. Right now, not liking either company's prototype heads for alpha chun li.
  10. The one thing I ordered from them was the 1/12 inart batman dlx. I did get it a few bucks off with a coupon code ($86.90), but that was negated when they automatically went with fedex which translated to around $34.25 USD to California. At least in came in 3 days and packaged pretty well.
  11. I dunno man, I got one of the 171 EX revivals and it is super solid. I was pretty impressed with it. But if you want, I could um ethically dispose of that 27 for you.
  12. For anyone interested in the Moshow SDCC Exclusive Rick Hunter Cyclone (MOSPEADA), here are some comparison pics to the original (since I didn't see anyone else highlighting the color differences or the stickers), as well as a comparison to the only other figure that really compares:
  13. WOW!!! I just stumbled across this thread and I'm blow away. Amazing work. Carl
  14. The only way I'm getting this is if it's ThreeA-sized, because yeah, the Koto kit is constantly repopped and is fantastic.
  15. Possible, but unlikely IMO. Aside from the blatant creator provincialism on display the reveal of the ship's origins has little-to-nothing to do with the actual story or its Aesop. The focus of the episode's conclusion isn't the scavengers, it's what James T. Kirk learns about the weight of responsibility that comes with being in command in his first outing in the big chair. The scavengers really could have been anybody and it wouldn't have mattered much in the end. What's far more likely to provoke discussion is that this goofy ****ing thing looks right out of Warhammer 40,000.
  16. I hope that the statement, "the items will be shipped with the Alus Edition UHD Blu-rays" means that the discs are coming soon. This has been dragging on for a while now. I know there was some extra stuff going on, but these were originally promised by last December.
  17. Is that a compilation book of all the comics? If so, while I have the comics, this would be a great grab to go through them in one book.
  18. I thought I read somewhere that the styrofoam these were packed in was the cause of yellowing. If that's the case, then keeping them in the boxes may have been the problem.
  19. Update 34, the character good will be available for adding to the crowdfunding order on September 1st. The acrylic Ishtar stand will be $30 the Ishtar badge $10: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/madoverlord/macross-ii-lovers-again-alus-edition/posts/4435436?ref=ksr_email_mktg_auto_backer_project_update_registered_users
  20. I'm loving BF6, my main issue, despite classes being back they don't feel as distinct and different as previous games. I think "classic conquest", or the fixed loadout conquest, should be the main conquest, because that IS conquest. This free weapon mode conquest, aka the "default" conquest, sucks. Classes don't mean much, anyone can carry anything, it's not conquest IMO, it's "new" conquest, or free play conquest. They need to update the game and make real conquest the default and name this new free weapon mode conquest free play, or royale or something, it aint proper conquest.
  21. Wow! Thanks for sharing.
  22. Nice! The feature makes sense at this scale. Although I’ll prolly replace the fan cover’s “flip tab” with a more discrete…and I’m trademarking this 😜…“fingernail cavity.”
  23. Weird. O.o We'll have to wait and see...
