What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Seto Kaiba replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The third episode of Kunon the Sorcerer Can See dropped today. The first two episodes definitely didn't make a good impression and the series definitely started as it meant to go on. Partway through the third episode, I had to pause when I finally found the words to articulate why this series feels wrong. It's not just that the story is a badly written mess barely paying lip service to its own central premise. The combination of its directionless-feeling story and wildly uneven pacing makes it feel like the series is rushing without a destination in mind. Like they're just trying to get through the story as quickly as they can so they can go do something else. For instance, the main character only just started school the previous episode and is already set to graduate in this episode without ever actually attending a class. The school seems to serve no purpose in the story besides providing another group of randos to frantically glaze the protagonist at every turn. It's done so often, and so such ridiculous extremes, that it's actually quite disruptive to the story. I don't think I'll bother watching any further. -
Kinda happy and a bit lt down. It had been a lil bit since I tried searching for one of my favorite 80’s shows and found that Amazon Prime actually Has Sledgehammer. Unfortunately it says available with commercials only. At least they have my show, but paying Amazon to remove commercials, but being stuck with commercials totally blows. Not sure when they added the show, but I’ve been kinda desperate to find it streaming, so I might see if I can deal with the annoyance

I got my payment and private warehouse notice for the VT-1 on January 5. Since then, I’ve received five separate emails over the last week notifying me that the VT-1 is in stock. They seem to have some sort of glitch in their system. I’ve never seen this before.

With Kitzconcept, it's a bit like some Kickstarter projects, the release dates are approximate. I ordered books through another Kickstarter, and they just told us there's a one-year delay… I'm waiting… I'm trying to be patient. As I said, if you're not prepared to wait, it's best not to order. i like so much their products, there are very good but you have to be very patient because it's a small company, and production deadlines are never met.- 2658 replies

Huzzah!!! 😁...... and on that momentous note.....I am now pleased to announce that.... now we have a battleship gentlemen! Primary hull painting DONE! (and gloss coated with Alclad Klear Kote). Definitely more user friendly to me these days than that Tamiya TS-13.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0

The first Infinity Castle movie is gorgeously animated... but because it follows exactly the same format as the TV series despite being a 155 minute movie the flashbacks REALLY REALLY drag on. Like, I remember I did not check the length of the film before going to see it at my local theater and was absolutely flabbergasted that the film was still going and still aggressively flashback-ing at the two hour mark. Caught another episode of The Daily Life of the Part-Time Torturer over lunch today. Its outrageous premise is no more than superficial so far and it's really just a "my daily life with my quirky coworkers" slice-of-life title. The vast majority of the physical business is offscreen or implied so the "torture" part is mostly just refuge in audacity for an office setting, since the characters don't really treat their work with any more gravitas than might normally be reserved for an afternoon spent shucking clams. It's not really bad... it's just... why? Why is this a thing? If you changed their occupation to rubbing grease on weasels it would be exactly the same story. -

Ah, ok. I haven't used Walmart for too many, if any, preorders that I can recall. I'm leery of using Target as well as they've cancelled preorders I've placed more than once which leaves a sour taste. Of late, my local Wally has been getting figures in more plentifully, but SS86 Soundwave remains elusive. I have to wonder if one of the employees is in the know about the demand and scarcity and is taking advantage of their access. Anyway, it is what it is, and I'm curious if he'll get some sort of a toy-deco rerelease, which would be my preference anyway. I'm assuming it's a rerelease of the Siege figure, perhaps with some minor retooling. I'd prefer a whole new mold that fixes everything that was wrong with the Siege. Guess I'll wait for the official reveal to see what, if any, changes have been made. And too, like you, if the changes are substantial and improve the figure's alt modes considerably, I'll try to secure a PO with Pulse as well, or Amazon failing that.- 17963 replies

They are great though... Nice squad! I'll buy variants if I can buy I hate preordering from them so I would rather wait until they're shipping. Wish I could swing by the store every couple weeks and check if anything is new but that's a bit out of my way.

I would settle for smaller DX articulate styles even those aren’t cartoon accurate. Or maybe even a hole in the right fist 1/55 style. 😁

Given the scale, you could probably take a shortcut and make a small adapter to plug the Arcadia posable hands into the wrists. Style wouldn't really match, but we've never had posable cartoon hands to begin with.

Anyone have a 3D printer and interested in making some articulate hands that can store during transformation? I would happily help fund that project.

I have so many things on pre-order right now and with the cost of shipping and tariffs, I am definitely going to pass on the Toyr!se offerings at this time. I hope that these do well in the market place, they are just not for me. MB

Walmart, I'm guessing. Someone found Walmart's product page for Astrotrain and it got shared. Walmart didn't have it set to "coming soon" or "temporarily unavailable" or whatever, so people were able to create orders even though Hasbro hasn't actually solicited it yet. Personally I didn't bother. Walmart has such a bad track record fulfilling preorders even under normal circumstances that I had little faith in "oops we accidentally left this page working" orders actually securing me anything. I'll wait for Pulse/Amazon.- 17963 replies

Caught up on Demon Slayer. Mild spoilers, mostly tagging for a wall of text: But blah. It eventually finds its way back on track, and it's been a fun ride overall. Here's hoping the finale trilogy movies meet expectations. -
Pre-orders start 14 January. Man that exposed forearm gap just makes the whole thing look so terribly cheap to me...

Where'd you find a PO for SS TFTM Astrotrain? I've been looking for pics and POs with no sign of either. I even checked Tomy's site to no avail. Same for Hasbro Pulse. My sincere hope is for an all new mold to correct the WFC toy's many issues, but since Hasbro likely won't, I hope they'll at least give the Siege toy a much-needed overhaul to correct the glaring flaws of the original release. Likewise the inevitable Blitzwing.- 17963 replies

Well, bandai in this area is not like gundam that so fast to release the model kits. Usually tiny session SD macross we wait for year or years zzz..hope they can improve on that. Since this line is like model kits quality I wonder why they didn't make to model kit and let us have fun building it. Nowadays their model kit can have detail designing like RG gundam. Also I hope Bandai can release the fast pack parts compatible to Tiny session Valkyries. And I also like tiny pilot and opening cockpit hatch. I use the miniature figure from RG gundam. And I hope someone can make the SD Mospeada the plane and the bike with.perfect transformation. Haha
