You've got a really bad texturing problem. I guess you are using a Tamiya primer rattle can. You need to sit it in a bowl of warm water to help the flow. Shake the can for a solid minute before spraying. Give it a shot and let us know if the results improve.

Sorry the freezing idea didn't work out! When you do get the head apart though, if you dress the seam edges carefully with a needle file, it should lessen the visibility of the seam line when you reassemble it.

Yeah, the first one's translation was weird so I couldn't make heads or tails of it and just ignored that statement. The rest of his tweets about it were neutral showcases so he didn't seem to say anything negative, other than that the molds are kinda old, iirc. But the second one alone can't be excused lol... Hope more impressions or reviews come out soon to clear things up.

I’d love to hear the story on this beat club 1970 show. Some of the songs had very different lyrics, like Hand of Doom. Did they only have the outline written for those songs or did Ozzy just forget the lyrics? I know there are alternative versions on the demos, but wasn’t sure what was going on here.

I ordered from Hobby Genki. I have not received any shipping notifications yet. So far, I haven't has any issues with them yet. Seems to be still available... https://hobby-genki.com/en/sentinel/43039-riobot-armored-genesis-climber-mospeada-148-ab-01h-tread-4571335880835.html I do not know what the final shipping costs will be with everything going on. I guess we will all find out when we find out.

I wonder if this is related to the new "de minimis shipping" rules. You can skip to 5:30 mark. I don't know how this is going to effect future purchases from Japan.

Model kits have come a long way, even compared to the Bandai VF-1. But I still prefer non transforming kits. Most of my Gundam just seem to have lasted longer than most of my toys, probably due to lighter weight and simpler construction

I'm like 75% with you. If we have a G1 version already, like Arcee, Prowl, Optimus, Bumblebee, etc, I really don't want a G1-ified version of a Prime or Animated character, and I don't think fans of Prime or Animated who have been waiting 15+ years for modern updates want that either. That said, there are cases where characters from other continuities don't really have G1 analogs, like Bulkhead or Knockout from Prime or Blackout and Barricade from the Bayverse, where I kind of wish that there was a G1 version and I don't mind the G1-ification. Honestly, I agree, and it's possible that 2026 Ratchet will be an entirely new mold. I'm just spitballing. I think the alt mode makes for a good Bulkhead, but the bot mode less so (to be fair, though, that's arguably a step up from Legacy Bulkhead). I do wonder, though, if the leak for an Animated Ratchet is actually supposed to be a Prime Ratchet. Swap the Lenses with knives, put on a new head and chest, maybe new shoulders, and you're definitely in the ballpark.- 17396 replies

I fence sat on Alchemist too long before he was sold out on Pulse and I've yet to see any of the Primes in a store. Anyway, I wouldn't mind a repaint of this guy, but IMHO Animated Ratchet isn't a good fit as neither mode, nor the transformation, is right for the character as he appeared in the show or as the OG toy appeared. I have the OG toy, and honestly, I think an extensive retool/repaint of WfC Earthrise Trailbreaker would be a far better choice. I contend however, though the transformation is GREATLY simplified from the OG toys, that Alchemist would make for an excellent Prime Bulkhead. I know they already released a Legacy Prime Bulkhead, but that toy in nearly every regard shared far more similarities with Animated Bulkhead than the Prime version. All things being equal, they could just release this guy with a retooled chest and a new head and market him as Animated Bulkhead, at which point I'd consider him my modern Prime Bulkhead fig. Honestly, I wish they'd abandon the necessity of homogenizing every non-G1 look with G1 attributes. The distinctive looks are what set them apart from every other series and I wish Hasbro would honor that. Moreover, I find the very different looks of both Prime and Animated appealing and I'd rather the toys adhere faithfully to those looks without trying to pigeonhole everything into one big G1 melting pot when the original intent for Animated and Prime was to distinguish them from G1 and other series. That same mindset should inform the toys as well.- 17396 replies

Yes, I remember the earlier post now. Thanks for jogging my memory. I'm just not a big fan of models/kits. Has something to do with their heft and tolerances. My very first VF-1 was a model kit and it turned out to be a floppy mess. Instead of addressing its inadequacies, I tossed it.

I realized that it is likely due to the prototype nature of the model, but when I noticed it my mind immediately jumped to this concept art. Unlikely as it is to be the reason.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
So... pretty much as a rule, when a habitable planet is located and colonized in Macross it's an emigrant fleet that found the planet and colonized it. That's what emigrant fleets do. It's kind of their entire thing, really. Those emigrant fleets raise, fund, and maintain their own local New UN Forces defense forces that protect them in transit as well as after they locate a planet and settle down. The size and composition of those forces varies wildly based on the generation of emigrant fleet and preferences of its government, but the vast majority of planets have at least a few New UN Spacy warships chilling out in orbit for defense. Most have dozens if not hundreds. Even New UN Government member worlds that weren't, strictly speaking, colonized by Humanity because they already had native sentient lifeforms have such defense forces, and some maintain additional paramilitary forces for law enforcement purposes like Zola's anti-poaching Zola Patrol and Uroboros's anti-piracy Hunter's Guild. Yeah, that's pretty much the rationale behind the Hunter's Guild on Uroboros. Though the Uroboros Hunter's Guild isn't a PMC, it's a licensing and regulatory body for freelance bounty hunters and similar... basically your standard JRPG Adventurer's Guild but dressed up in sci-fi suitable terms. 'course, it's worth noting that the emigrant fleet's/planet's government is already footing the bill to maintain the fleet's/planet's local New UN Forces. Of course. These PMCs are corporate subsidiaries that have to turn a profit in order to stay in business and often remain enmeshed in providing services to their parent companies. Mind you, because manpower is scarce and demand is high they do seem to be willing to take risks on people who have skills but also have problematic habits, personalities, or histories. This much is explicitly stated, and we of course do get examples to go with it. Even SMS, the top tier PMC, is hiring folks who got BCD'd out of the service and Xaos is even less choosy... hiring several characters who are described as lazy and guilty of chronic tardiness and absenteeism, a mentally unstable pilot, and a commander with a rather checkered past and a long history of losing battles. There's definitely an element of suspect judgement in some of their decisions, particularly Xaos's in Macross Delta. Such as allowing a new recruit to repeatedly blow off training without consequences and disable safety features in a training aircraft after skipping training on the ground, a rather heinous breach of common sense that nearly got their new recruit killed in the expensive and messy crash of a dedicated training aircraft. Well, yes... whether such wise leadership is actually available is another matter entirely. However, PMCs aren't being hired to take on Zentradi fleets on their own or anything like that. From what we see and what we're told, when they're not being hired by their parent company to protect its own assets and personnel they're providing support, training, and/or field testing services in support of the local New UN Forces. They're not a replacement for said local New UN Forces, merely a supplement to them.
