  2. Macross Frontier DX Chogokin VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie (Top Gun: Maverick Ver.) Action Figure https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/product/macross-frontier-dx-chogokin-vf-25-messiah-valkyrie-top-gun-maverick-ver-action-figure-186629?variation=365451
  3. Hahahaha. No way 🫠
  4. So more like 110% compared to the majority of us
  5. Somebody posted an ad for a Space 1999 inflatable Eagle beach floaty for adults. I think every comment went "I know this is April Fools but I want one!"
  6. It’s here!!! After a total of $140 spent, I can finally add this to my to build list for summer. I will have to give it a full 75% effort. Hahaha The Q-Rau golden ratio. 😂
  7. Today
  8. One of my favorite songs from last year. The album bestiary was also one of my top picks
  9. Snowball Earth is out. Finally a mecha anime. TIme to watch.
  10. Starting another new one from this season, The Food Diary of Miss Maid. The plot summary is pretty threadbare. A slice of life series about an ethnically Japanese British maid who took a trip to Japan for a personal vacation (but apparently didn't pack any clothes besides her maid outfit) and finds she is now stuck living there for at least a year because her master's mansion in England collapsed during an ill-advised renovation project. As the title suggests, it seems to go no further than being food porn for traditional Japanese food. The first episode features taiyaki, takoyaki, odango, convenience store onigiri, and baumkuchen.. Ironically, this kind of leaves the episode feeling bland and directionless... since it doesn't seem to have really have anything to do except have the maid narrate the obvious in a cutesy voice. (You'd almost suspect this was made to promote tourism given its cultural evangelism... but Japan is getting pretty anti-tourist right now.)
  11. Not just the NUNS... Macross as a whole has never used the new rank names created for the postwar Japan Self-Defense Forces. Most Japanese fiction doesn't use the Japan Self-Defense Forces rank names unless it's explicitly depicting the Japan Self-Defense Forces (e.g. GATE.) You could say using those older rank terms is a sort of linguistic shorthand to establish that these fictional and/or foreign militaries being depicted are not the kind of limited, purely defensive force Japan is permitted to maintain under Article 9 of its post-war constitution. Of course, this older and more sinocentric approach to rank terminology lacks a built-in way to distinguish between branches of service based on title alone and so translators are forced to either rely on guidance from the creators, in-story text, or other context clues to know whether to translate the terms into other languages as Army or Navy ranks. Mobile Suit Gundam's creators, for instance, opted to have the ranks of the EFSF translated as Navy-style ranks. Macross's creators made their intended translation clear by providing the English translations of Space Forces ranks into Army-style ranks in the production materials, in the onscreen text, etc. in a generally consistent manner throughout the franchise's official media.
  12. The expanded universe stuff has me interested. How are you all getting your copies? I want to see if i can get a fair price for mine.
  13. So, I’m only 15+ years late in finally making this custom 😅, but wound up doing my own little take on the Joe’s second Navy SEAL. The figs acquired to make the custom: The finished product:
  14. Thanks for pointing to this ... I know where I'll be spending some time on this forum!
  15. I really enjoyed the Unrustables, and wished they'd stayed in business long enough for the other designs to come out. Generally speaking, I just love when these adult collectibles are actually resilient and FUN to transform, like a proper toy. The different Afterburners (including third party ones) have been pretty cool. I do love classic Diaclone, but just haven't taken the jump into the newer legacy stuff. Those are all solid figures you mentioned. I have them all (I think), and was thrilled to see such decent versions coming out. As for the MOSPEADA ride armor, I will always have a soft sport for it. It was my introduction to those types of designs, encountered at a formative age, and it was part of a storyline that I really enjoyed. Further, I actually love the GENESIS BREAKER designs, as much as others have derided them. All of that said, yes, even as a kid, I hated that it was mostly just a backpack, and the Moto-Slave designs, Garland, Hargun, and ZILLION designs are superior as far as being actual mecha that transforms and doesn't just sit on a human. If Zillion got a reboot, with some new designs, I would absolutely be there for it. Also, as to transforming bikes needing their own thread... Started by me back in 2008, which I claimed I was going to keep updating, and am about 15 full years overdue on (life, work, family... but still loving the collecting).
  16. I think our policy is "Never post anything news-worthy on March 31 thru April 1" or "Be wary of any posts from March 31 thru April 1".
  17. I found Tiger Force Snake Eyes at my local Target. Which was a shock, considering they never have anything good, especially Super 7 Reaction + GI Joe.
  18. Pets are a MAJOR factor in my model area - my female long hair cat claims my model desk as hers so I always have to 100% clear off and put away ALL parts/paints/tools/glue completely off the desk every single time I even leave the room for more than like 3 minutes, otherwise........things tend to get munched on....LOL. .........then there's the random floating cat hairs......😺😂
  19. X-Men X-Jet? Cabin vs. cockpit, though.
  20. Got mine. 1. Acrylic stand has scratches... 2. Clear File is whatever. 3. No English. 4. Artbook is NICE!!! All just layouts but NICE! 5. Looks to have much DNR, that's expected. I'll say more about the video once I watch tonight.
  21. Fine. Night Raven.
  22. Hm. So the NUNS have different rank names from current JASDF/JSDF rank names? And why NUNS anyway?
  23. Boooo... boring colors.
  24. I appreciate the advice, and I'm all too aware of Walmart's lenient returns policies having worked there myself a short while after I retired from the military. However, while the slingshot is a lamentable omission, I can live without it as long as the eventual Movie version comes with it. While I don't lay awake at night worrying for the Walton family (I think they'll get by), the amount of theft and abuse of the returns policies that I saw working there were appalling and I doubt that things have gotten much better, especially post-Covid. The Walmarts in my area have all hired full-time security, and we regularly have police officers inside or hanging out in their vehicles between the exits, Moreover, those in high-crime areas (like my old store) have taken to ensconcing most or all of their LEGO product s (and other high-theft items) behind locked glass doors, often still with Spiderwire. The necessity for such measures is sickening, and after only seven months of working there, my view of humanity darkened considerably. Given the world situation, I still find myself thinking we're a bit overdue an extinction event, one that just targets us and leaves everything else alone. Cynical, but an earned cynicism. This isn't the first fig I've received from Pulse that was missing something; my copy of CW Seaspray, which I'd also seen on the pegs at retail beforehand, came missing a propeller. Maybe that's just my luck. Most of the time, however, my figs show up complete, so it's more of an annoyance than a serious issue. Harkening back to your review of Devastation Bumblebee, I got my copy about a week or so ago, and yeah, he's quite an impressive little figure. The transformation kicked my butt for a minute, but I eventually sorted it out. I'd love it if they just remolded the toes to look more VWish, as everything is nigh perfect for a G1 Bee.
  25. Cobra rattler version?
  26. The next VF-25 will be a GI Joe crossover
