Minor update. Still working on colors and proportions, but here's the completed new head in place. I like the overall feel of it (though that black eyeball needs to change), but think it might be missing something, or is maybe too helmet-like. Will continue to refine as I get the rest of the battroid together and see how it looks as a whole. Bit by bit...

The Legend of Zelda Live Action Movie
TangledThorns replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
New Zealand is the place to make a fantasy movie! I recall back-packing through New Zealand in early 1999 not long after it was announced that the LOTR films would be made there, the whole country was excited for it!! -
my preference of the movies till now: 2, 3, 4, 1. I loved all of them though, and both 3 and 4 felt like it should have finished with them, but here we are... well, it is happening. Hopefully at least as good as 4, but not sure how they gonna pull it with everything that already happened. I dont see how else they are going to surprise us like they did with 3 and 4. So must lower my expectations.... down low... loooower... loooooooower. ok, let's see how this goes.

Just loving the pics and videos on this. Would be all over this if i still wanted big scales, but only doing the 1/100, and really happy with the HMR, just that this is a whole new league of a toy, seems much better than my Yamato version i used to have.

I agree. Too much of a straight off the factory line look, hahahaha. Maybe I’ll get back to it and mess it up a little. @Thom Yeah I agree. Trying to envision the battroid form fitting inside as a pilot. -

Is Link staring at Zelda’s butt? Seems lore accurate. 😅 -
So I'm dragging this one up again to see if anyone has recommendations on how to theoretically disassemble the legs of the DX YF-19, or possibly just extract the metal pins holding the feet together. I've been wanting to swap out the feet on this thing since day one with the VF-19 Advance, just to get them to look decent in fighter mode, but the legs are your typical Bandai special glue and screw sandwich, with no way to get access to what looks like it should be a very simple ball joint to extract and just swap the entire foot. So I'm left with spring pins. Is there a specific tool I could use to potentially press these things out, or am I stuck finding a nail of the right diameter to hammer into the pin and hope it eventually comes out?

Yeah, I also have to wonder if this is based on using the mobile app, or just something that doesn't work in my state. There is nothing even remotely resembling those options on the website that I can see on my computer.

The very interesting thing about a 40+ year old franchise is the varied points of entry into fandom and collecting. I consider myself fortunate to have been there at the beginning- just the amazement of experiencing this whole concept of realistic vehicles and things turning into nifty looking robots, as well as the story being told through the animation, not to mention through the bios included with the package art. It was such a well-done roll-out for the toys, as all that info made them feel like characters and I think that was the real brilliance to Transformers in those early years and why it maintained longevity. Prowl was my entry toy, and he's still one of my absolute favorite TF designs. I'm ever grateful to Hasui-san for the gorgeous MP figure, a dream come true for me. I also consider myself fortunate to have experienced Saturday cartoons. There was just something cool about it, as there was so much choice, even with the limited channels back then. I was always checking out the TV Guide to determine what shows I could watch (pre-VCR days), as I had to channel hop back and forth between the three or four networks we had to catch my shows. It was a different time, but I look back upon it fondly. I still remember a lot of the G1 commercials, and a lot of them have been preserved via YouTube and such, but I was out of the loop, I guess, when it came to G2, as I have no recollections of the commercials from that time. Likewise, I only vaguely remember the toys. I still had my G1 stuff, but as I've mentioned over the years, my interest in G1 pretty much started and ended with first season, as I felt that the show became much sillier in S2, losing the more focused and mature storyline of the first. I had pretty much lost all interest in the show come seasons three and four, and to this day, I've not watched either in their entirety, nor do I wish to. First season is where I live and breathe when it comes to G1 Transformers, with a little S2 bleed over when it comes to the toys. After that, Beast Wars, Animated, and Prime remain my favorite entries in the franchise, both shows and toys. Transformers: Robots in Disguise, which directly followed Prime, was also pretty good, so I guess I can include that, too. Bad voice acting choices made the WFC series unenjoyable for me, and while I tried to get into Earthspark, it just didn't grab me like previous series. I need to sit down and start it from the beginning and watch it straight through, I think. I'm still pretty peeved that deluxe Earthspark Soundwave, arguably one of the best toys in that line, never released in my area, and he goes for way too much on eBay and the like. Grrr- 17817 replies

Yup, that looks like Link and Zelda to me. -
You know.. I keep hoping that one day Bandai will attempt to understand literally anything about aircraft, and the reason that things in real life are designed the way they are. But it is not this day. Yeah. They shoved all of the hardpoints toward the wingtip to the point that you can barely mount any of the weapons they've produced. You know.. instead of spacing them out like the YF-19 had them. I know, minor quibble, it's not like the Fire Valk ever mounted any weapons anyway, but it does mean that we'll be stuck with the same lack of space if we get a VF-19P. I don't know if anyone has complained about this in Japan, but I'd love to post this feedback to Bandai and slap them upside the head to try and convince them to just match the spacing on the YF-19's wings in the future. So, yeah. If you happened to buy at least two YF-19 Full Packs (or maybe two or three sets of VF-171 armor sets?) you're in luck.. you actually have missiles that will fit in all three spots.

I'm still a young'un with TF stuff, since I missed out on G1 entirely, and until G2 all I had was the deluxe Spay-C Gobot shuttle, and a Robotech-branded Bandai Joke Machine VF-1. I fell down the rabbit hole when I saw the fancy G2 commercials though, and asked for a G2 Starscream for Christmas of 93. He wasn't available, so I got a Ramjet instead.. which confused me for years, since he was essentially colored like Skywarp. G2 is also why I thought Megaton was always a tank. My younger brother got pretty into Beast Wars, so he had a bunch of them, but I think the next actual TF I picked up was the Walmart MP Skywarp.- 17817 replies

@tekering - Ahh! Guess I missed those! Excellent clean build! The recon pod has always been my favorite! Looks GREAT with the two HMR brownies!

It's this image that bowled me over: That internal detailing is sick, dude. 😲 Really? I posted pics of mine two years ago. 😅 I went with a clean, toyetic look to match my Hi-Metal R figures.

Lets hope the VF-1A CF gets some love.
