UPDATE: Well, after getting a housing lawyer involved (pro-bono, of course), certain "mistakes" were admitted to have been made on the part of where we live. So at least we don't have to worry about that, and I don't need to start packing up my stuff and potentially deleting it from my collection. At any rate, I came across an old space shuttle model kit for 2 bucks recently (last 2 bucks, but it was worth it!) at the thrift store. It was priced that way because someone had glued it together badly: A lot of work was needed; the cockpit was utterly barren and devoid of much detail. To that end I used masking tape, acrylic paint and a couple of old fighter pilot figures (1/72) that I used some old orange craft "puff paint" on to fill it out. Meantime, the cargo bay door hinges disintegrated after a few uses. I pulled some brass hinges off a few old cigar boxes that the tobacco shop gives away for free as replacements: The bay itself needed much work: The nose was just three depressions (to add to my own depression ); had to drill those out: And I nearly called Scotty to help with her engines: Stay tuned folks, Major Tom will be right back...

Seconded. I've got pre-orders with half a dozen companies. 2025 is shaping up to be especially painful.

Sad. Loved his Hulk run and Star Trek books. Thank you Peter for the entertainment!

They are in a spiral. Less people filling the seats means they have to charge more for the warm seats they do have, which means less people filling the seats, and thus they need to charge more for the even fewer warmed seats...

@Chas Wow, that looks great! It came with tiny Valkyries and monster? That’s so cool. What you working on next?
-
Nice job on the SDF-1!! Really looks incredible! BTW: I've found on fogged flat coats, a second spray of it can often clear up the cloudiness (test a very small part of the clouded area first).

Paypal, HLJ, Bandai, etc. use a crappier exchange rate and pocket the difference if you pay in another currency. Like the above post said: always pay in yen. If you buy a lot of stuff from Japan, it's best to use a CC that has zero foreign transaction fees.

Sad to hear this. To me and many others, He defined the Hulk for an entire generation, made Aquaman and Captain Marvel cool and created my fave Spiderman variant, 2099. I know he’s had a lot of health issues, especially recently. May he rest in peace.

Wow, I think I had recently seen his name on one of the smaller comicon guest lists not too far back. He was involved with quite a few comics an shows from what I remember
-
Always pay in Yen.

Oh man, he wasn't even that old. What a bummer. I never got into the Hulk's solo adventures, but I was a fan of his Star Trek: New Frontier series.

Patience padawan.... KC's just barely scratching the surface of all the stuff made available from their first Kickstarter....if they actually come through they pretty much have very little to offer on the next round....so guessing Q-Rau and N-Ger would pop up on the next round....- 2516 replies

Looks good! I like the blue, nice touch. I like the overall tonal shifts you have in the paint as it is. I think hitting it with some dark panel lines would set it off well and balance it all out. Hope the darker gray works out for you. As always, just love your figures Greg. Those eyes are hand painted too! Just awesome. The SDF-1 is pretty much done. Had a slight mishap with the flat coat ( first try went cloudy) the remnants of which can be seen as shadowing on the left side of the very top at the front. Still not too bad. Just gotta do up the tiny Valks and Monster and place them on it somewhere.

Macross Attack Team Sky Angels Complete Collection

I haven't done the whole section, but I greatly appreciated the lengths they went to for a single absolutely dreadful dad joke. Y'see... that section is presented as a collection of anecdotes from its in-story author who participated in the VF-X test flights. He takes a moment in that section part, titled "The Right Stuff", to properly introduce himself. He's a Japanese-American from the great state of California, a CalTech graduate with a BS in Aerospace Engineering, a US Navy F-14D Tomcat pilot who served alongside Roy Focker in the Unification Wars, and later a member of the in-story Multiconfiguration Analysis Team under Col. Chiba. His family claims to descend from the legendary 16th century ninja master Kato Danzo AKA "Flying Kato". The name of this amazing Tomcat fighter ace? Tom Kato. UGH. 🤣 -
I managed to get one from HLJ. But in the process, I notice that if I use the USD price listed by the website, I will pay over 65 USD more than the Yen price (including EMS shipping). My credit card exchange rate is nothing special, so HLJ's exchange rate is really bad.

I took my DX VT-1 apart to try to paint the landing gear. That was months ago. I got distracted and didn't finish the project. Worry about the loose parts laying around, I try to put it back together just now. There are 5 short and two long screws. I only use 4 short and one long, so there are now one short and one long screw left over. I can't seem to find where the extra should go. Anyone who have took DX VF-1 apart remember?
