The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

Beautiful work ! -
Got the shipping notification for my Omega about thirty minutes ago. Seems like it's a pretty good figure and I'll be happy to have it in hand. Folks do seem to be enjoying it, along with all the possibilities it offers. Apparently not, which is my main beef with it. I also hope the gear offer at least a little bit of ground clearance for the chest. Yeah, that's such an antithetical statement, it's laughable on its face. Obviously, it's a toy, and people seem to be having fun toying around with it, as they should.

Oh wow that’s a great deal! Hobby lobby? I’ll have to see if those exist out here in the PNW.

FYI, the Hobby Lobby by my house has ALL boxed Model Kits for 40% OFF right now! I have a $100 gift card....So I looked around tonight and the 3 Star Wars Bandai kits they had, I've already built years ago, they had the Revell 1/48 Top Gun Mavrick F-18 Super Hornet and the 1/48 Revell Top Gun Tomcat and a small 1/35 WWII Tamiya Tank kit that caught my eye, and also some LARGE Gundam's up on the top shelf that retail for like $90 each. I've never built a Gundam kit, but heck for 40% off I might give it a try! I left without buying anything, but I might go back before the sale ends...

Looks bigger than I was expecting. Also, this figure is how I found out that HLJ doesn’t allow cancellations anymore.

And we're starting with Chapter 1 - Deep Space War Bird! https://www.tumblr.com/trafalgarlog/812545257042509824/macross-the-ride-1-deep-space-war-bird?source=share In the sea of stars, there is no forward nor backward. It is a world governed by inertia alone, where all one can do is float. It is a hollow world where one neither flies nor advances, merely drifting along the course of another’s vector. Even so, she thought that she wanted to fly. Please enjoy, and stay tuned for further updates!

I, PixelatedShinobi, am funding an English translation of Macross the Ride! Chapter 1 just released, and more will be releasing every month over the next 11-12 months! Macross the Ride was a prose series published in Dengeki Hobby Magazine from 2011-2012, accompanied by custom models by KuWa (Frameoutworks). It is a prequel/sidestory to Macross Frontier and follows Chelsea Scarlett, S.M.S. pilot, as she is sucked into the thrilling and dangerous world of Vanquish Racing in the Frontier fleet. It was collected into two volumes and two Visual Books, but aside from some work to translate the contents of the Visual Books, it has never been released in English. Until now! It can be read here! https://gundamseedastray.blog/ Additional information can be found at @trafalgarlog.bsky.social and @pixeldoesthings.bsky.social!

Before actually seeing the series, I kinda thought it was for kids. All the designs have sorta a cutesy kinda look with that bulbous head. It wasn’t until around the 90’s when I saw a couple episodes on a bootleg vhs that I realized it was definitely more adult. Now I look at the designs in a different way, kinda more practical than gundam or even Macross with compact size more like a walking tank with a large head totally designed to fit the pilot’s head. The only nitpick I ever had was that scopedogs can’t really look up the way they’re designed. But I forgive it, just like I forgive real dogs

Pretty neat. Never mentioned before back in the 80s the Legioss was my favourite fighter, even I preferred it over the VF-1 back then cuz of its compact design and its vertical take off. Even after all those time, I still have soft spot for it.

Looking at this pix, really makes me wonder if bandai opted for a slick and streamline profile for the VF-17S, why didnt they adopt the same approach the VF-19. At least they would have complimented each other

Yet amz-jp is scalping higher shipping-fees for it than their own YF-21 offering if you're importing to the US, at least: frickin' bizarro. at any rate, Hacchaka review is up: https://twitter.com/hacchaka999/status/2038561092298068168 https://hacchaka.net/archives/52131263.html

Me too! From the two Takara AT's, I had in the 80's, one was the Brutishdog that I ordered after seeing it in a magazine, When it came I was so disappointed with the bad colour matching that Takara did that I sold both units a couple of month later! The V.O.T.O.M.'s anime series was clearly directed at adults, but Takara decided to make the V.O.T.O.M toys for kids and was not adhering to what was shown on screen! Now I can finally get the Brutishdog that I wanted back then...🤗
