  2. Ah, no... unfortunately it seems you are misinterpreting what I am describing. Probaby because I'm not doing a very good job of describing the mechanism at work here. 🤔 The way ISC is described, it seems to work a bit like Star Trek's mass-lowering subspace fields used in its impulse and warp drives, just in reverse. Instead of bending space around the field source to move a discrete bubble of space through space it's bending space to temporarily "pocket" an inertial force above a certain set limit and then return that inertial load to the vehicle in a controlled manner. The way it works is essentially predictive, under the direction of the ARIEL II integrated control AI, which anticipates what maneuvers on the mecha's part will induce loads above the limit and activates the ISC appropriately to compensate for forces above the limit. Whether the field is limited to just the cockpit or is centered on the cockpit and distributed across the frame at a lower level varies between sources, but it's never described as offering any protection against an externally-imposed force like a collision or weapon strike. Much like how a ship in Star Trek can accelerate to relativistic speed without any inertial consequences using a subspace field but will shake violently or be forced into a spin from outside forces in the form of phaser/torpedo strikes. It only seems to shield the craft against inertial forces internal to the field's frame of reference (acceleration/deceleration of the craft itself). The VF-31's application of the technology is even expressly indicated to have actually made mechanical stresses worse by changing how the inertial forces were returned to the airframe. Based on what we know, I don't think it can do what you're envisioning... though honestly, a pinpoint barrier could already do much of that with much less cost and complexity as that operates by creating an artificial dimensional fault as a literal immovable object. Eh... yeah, given what we've got on the subject of space pirates and similar in existing Macross materials that's pretty much guaranteed suicide. Macross Dynamite 7's galactic whale poachers, Fasces's "recruitment" teams in Macross the Ride, and Gunness Mordler's bandits in Macross 30 are all united by one thing: having a substantial amount of black market military hardware at their disposal. They're not coming at a civilian freighter in spacesuits and waving cutlasses. They're coming with Valkyries, with civilian ships retrofitted to carry military-grade weapons, or even the occasional stolen or salvaged warship. Even the least threatening of those three examples - the poacher group - was showing up with at least a squadron's worth of fully-armed black market VA-3s, multiple auxiliary ships armed with military-grade laser weapons, and had just bought several VF-17s and a tactical thermonuclear reaction warhead. A Destroid waving a sharp bit of metal around is just going to get Temple of Doom'd with a rotary cannon or laser machinegun... likely before it ever gets close enough to do any damage. It's bringing a knife to a three-dimensional gunfight against gunmen who can fly and attack indirectly with guided missiles. It's also probably worth noting that the ship's crew doesn't have to be kept alive to take the cargo... they can shoot the ship full of holes and then send Valkyries over to collect the cargo once the crew have all asphyxiated. Fasces is the only one of the three with a vested interest in not killing, and that was because they were taking prisoners to "recruit" them into their organization via mind control. (This is, in short, why SMS was founded. Its parent company Bilra Transport is an interstellar cargo service that needed to be able to protect its shipments in transit and formed a private army because that was what was necessary to get the job done.) That's coming along really well. It looks great.
  3. Today
  4. 😄 Congrats. I've been finding any number of current figs since last year, so distribution must be improving, or my store's doing a better job of ordering. Anyway, I had Brawl on PO through Hasbro Pulse, but I found him twice at retail, passing the first time and grabbing him the second. Alas, I canxed my PO with Pulse otherwise I'd have gladly offered up the copy. I wish you every success in your hunt! FWIW, I think Brawl is, thus far, the best of the Hasbro Combaticons. He may be unseated by Onslaught, which looks to be an excellent figure, even if they did fudge him to make the truck and trailer two separate parts so as to indulge in their beloved frame system. Still, the execution overall looks good to me. I do wish, however, that Vortex and Blast-Off actually formed the arms themselves instead of just being accoutrement on the frame arms. The frame just renders the figs as superfluous as combiners and I'm not really a fan of that approach. At least the leg bots on Bruticus are doing some partial duty despite having some framework there as well. but I look at both my Iron Factory KO Bruticus and my excellent legends scaled Magic Square Bruticus and wonder what could have been had Takara put in the effort.
  5. I must confesss I'm only aware of R-Type via few mentions of it, on these boards, generally in the context of LEGO MOCs. However, I do find the aesthetics of the ships alluring, and there's a nostalgic quality to them that tells me I've seen them before, but I was never aware of their origins until recent years. I congratulate you on your acquisition, however, and for R-Type fans, it's nice to know there'll be plenty of options for those seeking out toys and models.
  6. Thunder, ThunderCats, Ho!
  7. That’s under the Rumble Society/Slugfest banner honestly. I posted one of the Slugfest/Rumble Society stuff here in the past and I got flack for doing it. Edit: Any Slugfest or anything else related to that specific line, I’m not going to post it.
  8. I also get the same rhetorical question about “When is so and so company going to do this and that?” on other hobby forums as well and expect that specific company to reply to that question, but in reality, the company is not on those specific forums. Why not just forward those questions to the company themselves and see what their reply is? Hoping to see new Macross stuff in the pipeline as I’m honestly getting tired out.
  9. Wow! @electric indigo Such nice sharp details and I LOVE Orange - my favourite schemes. I love the nice clean look, so tired of all these weathered planes lately (doesn't anyone have pride anymore in properly maintaining equipment?!)
  10. Please address your question about releases to Kazuhiro Takenaka k.takenaka@p-bandai.co.jp and not here in the forum! 😉
  11. I had a pretty good day of a light hunt. I took advantage of Target's 30% sale and got Blastoff and Quickstrike. Sadly that sale doesn't extend to the other figures like Twinmill and Bone....crusher....okay. no, this is Sizzle no way I'm gonna call this autobot and Autobot, this is such a Decepticon. Quickstrike is rather fun....the glittery blue on him is nice, and his transformation is rather fun for a hick soundin, roid fuelin knockoff of what should have been Scorpinok. Just always seemed odd to me when I was a kid, you kill off Scorpinok but then you get a similar looking character who's a fuzor/transmetal. Anywho, he's fun, his joints are stupid tight. Blastoff is the second encounter of the Comabticon's I've come across and I rather regret not buying Brawl when I had the chance and have only seen out in the wild ONE TIME. But he's rather nice looking and I think well done. Now I need to find Brawl and Vortex.....which be easier to find in one location rather than separate so that's a tough order.
  12. Frank Castle for those Punisher fans.
  13. The clear blue parts on the side should be angled. https://www.toyark.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=78912&d=1767506136
  14. All hail procrastination! lol Despite that, it's getting close. On the bright side, you only need to make one arm and mirror it.
  15. Lego restocked, I ain't paying no scalper fees, got it this week, built it this morning.
  16. It begins and I’m blown away! This is already super fun and satisfying. Just working on the test fit and removing gates etc… sanding and pinning later.
  17. Don't know how many times I've posted this same question: Bandai, when are you going to release DYRL VF-1A Hikaru????
  18. More renders. But you get the idea.
  19. Guess I'm not buyin' it. My MP3 player ALSO glows blue and plays The Touch... if I can get anything to talk to it long enough to put music on it.
  20. I'm all in. Can't wait. Am I the only one who was expecting a red one next? I like the black. It's fun. I don't care what colors they make I want them all.
  21. Happy Valentine Day - pix from Masyang FB7 BEST of May'n
  22. @nightmareB4macross oh baby. I can’t wait until you get this bad boy painted! This test is looking good. @electric indigo Wow that’s a such a beautiful little plane. Gorgeous color scheme and execution! Also props to you on the prop. Haha. Such a cool idea. You captured so much energy in that stationary disc.
  23. Same here, thats why I post it.
