  1. Past hour
  2. Well, at least I now know even the arms are new molds lol Nice shading btw
  3. Today
  4. That Fugu in there somewhere too?
  5. You can create an amazon.jp account and supply a US shipping address to buy it from Amazon Japan at that price (obviously excluding tarriffs/shipping etc).
  6. Seeing this comparison, I want to build a big bulky one in 3D
  7. Did some weathering, shading and highlights on mine.
  8. Similar shape but different attachment points.
  9. The good reviews and photos make me want to grab one while it's "cheap". But I am also not the biggest fan of it, also because of the McD clown looks, and the mouth face. In fact, i find it kind of bland due to the lack of flamboyant markings for what it's meant to be lol. Between saving for a hypothetical Blazer release, or just grabbing something mostly of the same mold for "cheap" before bandai potentially knee jerks and skips the whole line up for not selling out instantly at their msrp, especially after knowing how little care they put in the 17, is a hard choice lol. I'm sure even if the Blazer happens, bandai will do a much lower volume run and charge for it, and tack on higher inflation too... Their latest trend has been retroactively inflating all their gunpla msrp, even going as far as to inflate things they haven't even had plans of reprinting for the forseeable future... Anyway, the craziest thought has occured to me. Since the forearms seem the same, does the YF's arm cannon fit on the Kai?
  10. congrats man! i really am jealous all of you in the states that got this and willing to overcome the tariffs. awesome valk
  11. Mine finally arrived today from HLJ. Did a quick transformation of it to battroid and back and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with the engineering of it. I really appreciate how they were able to make it so you didn't have to keep spare parts around to cover things or keep parts supported/locked in. Even the shoulder speaker gimmick where the cover flips down when you open it up was a nice touch. A far cry from the seemingly low effort YF-21 which was disappointing in so many ways. Also in contrast, I didn't really find any QC issues aside from one thing. The landing gear bay door on the left leg is missing a nub on one end so any attempt to open the door results in it simply falling off since there's nothing to hold it on. I'll try dabbing a little dot of super glue where there should have been a nub and see if that works. The leg swing joint for the A stance could be a bit tighter as well. Nitpicks in comparison to the QC nightmare that was the YF-21. I didn't even like the VF-19 kai with its McD's clown valk appearance, but I like this toy and it's instantly grown on me. They even tastefully tampo printed it rather than flood it with extraneous markings like Bandai has a habit of doing even though this is probably the one valk where it could be arguably justified if they did. I panel lined mine for now. Will see if I decide to do any weathering later on.
  12. That photo does kinda show how whale goo could turn it into the Kai's face
  13. I mean, it would be great if it was included, but there always a way just in case when they leave out little extras
  14. Here's another crazy idea. What if it was the 25G rifle, with the two rows of quadpod grapple spike things stripped out, since grunts won't be sniping. That's where the sane part ends. The crazy part is to make up for it's original 4 sided structure being removed, by turning it into a quad barrel gatling instead, with the same sniper barrels lol. Then cover it up with an appropriately magnified version of the 25's standard gunpod's transformable shroud. Maybe shorten barrels for convenience or wieldiness if that is an issue. Sniper accuracy isn't needed anymore anyway. With an abomination like this, we can pretend both types of the 25's gunpods took a little something from this overkill cannon, while representing NUNS' exorbitant tech and budget. Hopefully the landing gears still reach the floor 🤪
  15. Not really a big TF collector and I'm only really into the characters (Autobots) I remember from the original cartoon up until the 86 movie (which is the only TF show/movie that I can stand to watch these days). Plus, Hasbro TFs are not as easy to come by here... so it's great for me that Takara came out with this set. I wanna say I got this 100% cuz of nostalgia, but I also wanted to see if I could fit those backpack wing thingys and shoulder cannon onto my earthrise Wheeljack since this one will be staying in its cybertronian vehicle mode.
  16. Hahahaha. Face palm… yeah that would be a great way to make the tent and cables. Sometimes I forget that materials other than plastic can be used to great effect. Also readily available. Thanks for that suggestion. Appreciate it.
  17. Yes I did, and my Roy GBP, but I'm playing with Macross7 toys right now so they went straight in the closet. When Max arrives I'll do something for ThreeZero and I have a plan for more DX content but first Basara needs to save some space whales.
  18. Yesterday
  19. @jeniusDid you already get your Miria VF-1J? Can we get pictures or a YouTube review?
  20. The first VF-1 toy optimized for GERWALK.
  21. Wow-that box art is incredible! Thanks for sharing!
  22. Macross M3 gets almost no coverage in art books and the like outside of Kawamori's designs for the VF-3000, VF-9, and VF-14. I don't think I've ever seen the line art for the game's final boss mecha published. It must be in some doujin or some game magazine from the period. The game's old official website on shoeisha.co.jp does not credit any other designs besides Shoji Kawamori but AFAIK it's never been covered in any of his official art books. Which is doubly odd, since he does acknowledge the other Zentradi mecha he's designed in them. Which was rather surprising, given that the factory satellites producing the Glaug were destroyed 280,000 or so years before the original series... making them quite rare as a result. One has to wonder if the so-called "Super Glaug" in Macross Delta is a modified First Space War-vintage Glaug chassis or a Human-made reproduction. Oh no, there are lots. The mission to capture a factory satellite that we see in the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross series was just the first of many. Macross Chronicle's Mechanic Sheet for the Factory Satellite mentions that "more than 20" factory satellites were seized and relocated by the New UN Forces in the following months. Exactly when they came into possession of a factory satellite capable of producing Queadluun-Rau battle suits is not clearly stated, but seems likely to have happened somewhere in the early 2030s given that General Galaxy was commissioned to restore the facility in 2035 in response to the New UN Forces diminishing stock of Queadluun-Rau battle suits.
  23. Chapter 5: AXIA The battle over Voldor reaches a dramatic climax. Along with 4, one of the best ones so far. This time it has even more interesting tidbits. Overall, this one has been my favorite one to work on the description of the dogfight is beautiful and even poetic.
