[Universal] Fast & Furious 11: Fast Forever
Thom replied to Old_Nash_II's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
These movies are so divorced from reality, it would not surprise me. And it might make it good! -
Still trippy to realize that the Home Alone mom is the same actress as the Schitt’s Creek mom. RIP

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next
M'Kyuun replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Those are are distracting, but not so nearly as much as the huge feet hanging off the end of his hitch deck. For all the other clean origami they pulled off, it seems nigh absurd that they just folded the feet in on themselves in situ rather than folding them into the legs for a more realistic-looking truck. On the whole, though, it's a nice looking Prime figure. I like my Magic Square Light of Peace better; IMHO, it's the best MP scaled Prime figure yet released. I wish they'd upscale Doomsday, their legends scaled take on Megatron, to both CHUGL and MP scales. I'd be down for both without a second thought.- 18023 replies

The Ghost In The Shell - New Anime coming 2026
Big s replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That thumbnail is hilarious. Looks almost like basic sci fi fantasy till you realize that everyone is in their undies. Even the bearded dude at the top doing a spreadie on top of a spider robot trying to look like he’s challenging Jeff Goldblum from the first Jurassic park to see who can pull off the most seductive pose.- 27 replies

Damn, this one sucks. I adored her. She was fantastic in everything.
-
She was a terrible parent in those movies, but she was a great actress to be able to pull off such a terrible parent, yet still being a loved character. That does definitely take some talent to pull off. She’s been in a lot of other memorable things over the years and will be missed

Sure wish they’d do more episodes of Megas XLR. That show rocked hard -

They seem to be pursuing a romance angle with the character... which is hard to do with fifty pounds of prosthetics on your face. It's also pretty costly, and they've blown a LOT of the show's cash on sets and heavy prosthetics for minor background characters like the Ferengi and Kelpian cadets. Starfleet Academy's showrunners clearly blew a huge chunk of the show's budget on the enormous and elaborate sets used for the Athena's bridge and Sato Atrium. Given its layout and size, I'm inclined to suspect the Athena's bridge is a redress of the circular Federation Headquarters main hall from Discovery that also served as a courtroom at 23rd century Starfleet Headquarters in Strange New Worlds's second season. It looks to be double or better the size of a normal starship bridge for no practical reason (to the point that Captain Ake has no ready room. The Athena's Sato Atrium appears to even bigger and vastly more complex than Trek's previous biggest interior set, the Deep Space 9 Promenade & Quark's Bar multi-level set. It's much more structurally complex and a LOT more electrified since many walls have rows of built-in flat-panel monitors and almost every surface seems to edge-lit from within using programmable LEDs. There are water features and plants and all manner of other decorative items. After blowing what I'm sure was tens of millions of dollars on this set, they had little choice but to make it as multipurposeful as they could. This overspending is probably also the reason why location shooting for the series was so profoundly half-assed. Starfleet Academy's non-starship spaces like the James T. Kirk Pavilion, the quad, the War College dorms, and the gym all appear to be almost totally unmodified spaces at the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, Ontario. All they really did was stick some Starfleet signage on various exterior and interior walls and hung a few banners. The academy grounds are just Trillium Park on East Island in Toronto.

The Ghost In The Shell - New Anime coming 2026
M'Kyuun replied to no3Ljm's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm looking forward to this new retro-take. Although I'm a reader, for some odd reason I never got into comics or Manga by extension. I'm sure, just as comparing reading a book to a TV or movie adaptation, the Manga offers more in the way of, well, everything. From what I've read about the Manga, prompted by commentary here, the TV and movie adaptations of GitS certainly have been cleansed of their more sexual material. I'm sure this new film will follow suit (to make it more general viewer friendly and avoid an X rating) which is fine, if not preferable. After the excellent SAC series, I look forward to the stories, characters, philosophical musings, gory death scenes, cool robots/mecha, and general tone that the franchise has become known and loved for. I don't need or want it to devolve into hentai regardless of the original manga.- 27 replies

So is the hinge/pivot area super-tight to the point that it couldn't rotate, or did it catch on one of the other nose-gear-doors?
-
Yeah, not planning to go crazy and add a toilet bowl on its back. Just want to be able to use the parts I love from the old kit on the newer one. Why not start a thread for it. Maybe it’s a one and done thing or maybe the company does other kits for other cool franchises. You never know, maybe other interesting items will become available in this age of retro models. Seems like such a lack of modern mecha and sci fi in anime that most of the companies are making great new kits based on all kinds of older anime and video games

Silent Möbius has a special place in my heart. Besides Macross, it was one of the first anime I loved along with Appleseed, Bubblegum Crisis, Vampire Hunter D. I most definitely will be getting that kit once it drops. Thanks for sharing. Lookout Lucifer Hawk!

3 observations from the latest episode. 1. I don't like Jayden's speech pattern. First thought it was because it's his 2nd language or his shyness but it comes across as bad acting. Then I watched a video with the actor talking in their normal much higher pitched voice where they said the producers were going to help him to deepen his voice. Now his speaking pattern makes sense. The actor is fighting too hard not to sound like himself. If they wanted a deep voice Klingon they should of hired a deep voiced actor. 2. Fish face Daren what is with the human disguise? Alien faces cgi too expensive? Why not real makeup? What's the in universe reason? For such a progressive leaning show/school it seems odd for a student to be hiding their true self. 3. Does every thing take place in main lobby of the academy? Classes, diplomatic events, sporting events? This multi use room would be fine if it was an assembly hall but it is just a large lobby where people go through to access all other spaces of the academy. Why aren't there more people walking through and disrupting these events?

I just got my DX Fire Valk from BBTS on Wednesday, so I have not had anything more to do it than take it out of the box and put it in the stand. I will wish it around on my days off. Like the matte finish, very nice! Can’t wait for Jenius’ review of it on YouTube! Twich

"He-Man and Masters of the Universe" Film by Sony
Old_Nash_II replied to Mazinger's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, as far as I know, filming for Voltron has already wrapped. Now, regarding the others, I believe Thundercats will come next if He-Man is a huge success (after all, he was its direct rival at the time). As for Robotech, it could come sooner than a Macross one (which I always thought could be in the style of Yamato). -
@Big s Yeah, it's difficult getting used to them not being there. You could make a Rick Dom II Custom! Whatever you want. Just not as awkward as the GQuuuuuuuuuuuux version😁 Thanks @electric indigo! It's cool to see new subjects coming out! - MT

Dang! I was messing witht he plane today and took it down. As I was closing the front wheel well I noticed that the panel hadnt folded at the hinge, but in the panel and caused a stress mark. IOts closed again, but I dont think I can open it anymore without it snapping. So bye bye front landing gear on my Fire Valk

I rewatched Highlander 2 several years ago. It was still bad, lol. I recall seeing it when I was in high school and laughing with friends in the theater at how bad it was.
