  1. Past hour
  2. This is like Storm or Mezco, taking on too many properties instead of making figures of the stuff I would ACTUALLY want to buy.
  3. Today
  4. Maybe Director Krennic will arrange for Dedra to have an appropriately entertaining bunk mate to help the time pass more easily during her stay on Narkina 5. I can think of a few people in the Star Wars universe who would make ideal companions for her...
  5. Made some progress on the VF22S bay door cover, but had an event on Saturday so I had a bit less time to work on the project. Kind of conflicted and unsure if I want to really redesign the shape of the front section for the bay door fp (I had sketched up a few ideas prior, no pictured), before adding/applying the details. 🙄 I did make an print up the first iteration of the rear vertical stabilizer FP and it fit, but decided to scratch that idea because I realized by turning/canting the top of the forearm outward (while in fighter mode) with the original/stock Bandai DX FP Stabilizer actually lines up pretty well (so no need to reinvent the wheel). 🤷‍♂️ I took a magnifier and believe the markings on the side of the canopies say "Caution Keep Clean", LOL. I was able to emboss the side marking onto the canopies with no issue but unfortunately because of the shape a few of the methods I've tried didn't allow the 'NO STEP' to apply nicely onto the top/center of the canopies. I will have to try other methods and now I'm currently unsure if I want the 'NO STEP' marking to be permanently embossed/cut into the canopies. Now, I'm determining if and where I would want to place the markings on the heads... 🤔 Thought I had posted pics of fighter mode, uploaded these: Dunked the concept canopy (ver II 0.05mm res, no AA, no sanding) into Future (yes I still have the old bottle laying around. I'll have to pick up a bottle of the new stuff "Pledge", lol) and a 2:1 water:future mix (ver III 0.05mm res, no AA, no sanding). Ver III was the iteration I went overboard with supports and it suffered from scarring. The 2water:1future mix yield a matte finish (I forgot about that from my old WH40K Days). Ver V is the only set atm printed at 0.03mm, AA on. Ver VI will have the embossed markings printed at 0.03mm AA on: Hopefully I'll have a bigger update by the end of the week, prior to the weekend. I do want to get this project out of the way.

  7. On Amazon for a great price...I snagged one and the algorithm bumped up the price to $300... so you can save it and keep an eye on it. But it was normally sitting at $330.
  8. Yesterday
  9. another 'model kit' book....kind of a stretch to call it an art book, unless it will also include the lineart drawings and illustrations....
  10. The Gorilla God's Go-To Girl has finally decided to veer into romance... which I guess is a nice change of pace from the main girl bashfully shoving the main guy through the nearest wall with her super-strength every time he gets close.
  11. I think it was dengeki. I remember an article showing it and I really only bought the magazines with appendix items as add ons, (lots of cool add on parts for gundam and such like the GM wagtail parts) but I may be wrong about it and just got excited for Macross news. I believe it came out with the first rerelease of the Monster since they had to do some extra work with those particular molds and the article talked about the difficulties with that particular mold. If I remember the Monster didn’t come out with the first set of Macross rerelease kits due to those problems and came out the next big anniversary set
  12. I can't believe the size and heft of the injections molds...like seriously how do you maneuver them around, and how much room do you need to store them? Its just crazy, There was a Dengeki Hobby or HJ 10 years ago or something that had an article with pics of Macross molds from Bandai, including a pic of the 1/200 Monster if I recall I just can't remember where the heck I saw it
  13. Injection molds are serious business.

  15. I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!. I wish Yuke would get a clue already.
  16. Looks like some kind of sniper custom. Can’t say I remember that one at all. Although I think the head should have its mid and short range eyes since the scope of the rifle seems connected to the head and would function as the extreme long range scope. Basically looks like it has redundant long range vision and no normal range vision and might just trip on a rock. Then again maybe on the other side of that scope is the short range lense Bandai really likes milking the Scopedog for any variants they can, but how about something else every now and then
  17. I was kinda joking about her making that kind of comeback, but after reading this comment, maybe it’s a decent prediction. I’m gonna laugh pretty hard if there ever is another mention of the character
  18. I didn’t know he had anything to do with Dr Strange. But I do think Gunn knows how to do comedic bits and somehow have great heartfelt moments. I think the inclusion of characters like Krypto and Guy Gardner are gonna give some little laughs here and there, but probably won’t rely on them throughout. I think Gunn will give us a more heartfelt Superman movie than the Snyder version. Gunn seems able to give some great moments while Snyder kinda has to force a moment and his films kinda lack heart. Not gonna say we won’t get a cheap laugh here and there though, but Superman historically has always had those kind of moments.
  19. You shouldn't be paying any additional tariffs if purchased from ShowZ (or their sister store Gundamit). The tariffs are incorporated in their new shipping fees to the US, when it used to be free shipping. ShowZ has worked out an arrangement with the delivery provider where they will use the tariff % rate rather than the flat fee, and ShowZ is paying that in advance on behalf of the buyer. The costs of that are passed along in the new shipping fee (ShowZ may also be eating some portion of this, but I'm not sure). These costs are way lower than you would think because ShowZ (like many Chinese stores have regularly done for a very long time) is under-declaring the heck out of the items, like $10 or $20 for a $200 figure. If for some reason there are add'l tariff charges, ShowZ has said that they will take care of it for the buyer. So there should be nothing the buyer should have to pay after the item has been purchased and shipped. ShowZ/Gundamit is essentially banking on Customs not having the time, desire, or resources to open up every package and to look them up to see what they're really worth and find out they are significantly under-declared or otherwise misreported. FWIW, many of the shops in Japan like AmiAmi, Hobby Genki, etc. are also listing everything they send as Japan as the country of origin even if they are made in China. Because the de minimis exemption is still available (at least for now) for Japan, this means packages under $800 coming in from those shops don't get hit with any tariffs.
  20. I'm currently waiting on a pair from ShowZ, and watching the tracking information. I'll probably eat the cost if there is any, but will definitely report it here once I find out the details.
  21. My first attempt at some UV resin casting. I needed a duplicate cockpit so here goes nothing. I used this reusable mold clay stuff that softens in hot water. Pressed the piece into the clay and let it cool. Then it’s as easy as adding liquid resin and hit it with a UV light for a few minutes. Really easy to work with. After casting I just need to do some clean up and I’m good to go.
  22. If it can rotate, it wouldn’t be too bad, but I doubt they could have easily molded the pads to the top and bottom pieces at that small a size. Not saying it couldn’t be done, just that it would take more creative engineering and might limit the bend of the arm.
  23. Macross Mechanics Summer 2025.
