Just checked out Vitruvian Hacks (VH) on Boss Fight Studio's website (found via Google; not familiar with the business): VH has some pretty nifty figures. If my math is right, 1:18 scale yields figures ~4" tall? I'd be all over them if I were into tabletop fantasy gaming. And I couldn't find images for Battlestar Galactica figures, but I'll keep an eye out for them. Thanks!- 1065 replies

The computer and electronics super geek thread

Well, that didn't take long. Say Goodbye to the Idea of Chinese RAM Being Cheap; 32GB DDR5 Modules Now Retail for Over $500 as Local Prices Catch Up Globally (WCCFTech.com) Hardware Unboxed did test the RAM from Kingspec and found it mostly comparable 🤷♂️to RAM from the big-3 companies. Not necessarily better but not so much worst that it couldn't be recommended. But it appears that even the story of Chinese-made RAM will not be able to rescue the market. -
Bandai will never finish off the HMR destroids @ValkAddict in my opinion. They’re too invested in re-reissuing the Frontier valks and the lacklustre 17 (which is a retool of the 171ex). Who knows if Bandai will even go back to the 1/48 valks and put out the missed 1a valks that they didn’t do (including the VE-1).

That wood material is anice way to visualize any potential issues in the mesh.
-
When will Bandai finish the Hi-Metal destroids??? 🙄
-
It just occurred to me. Ribbons. "Reborns." Was it actually literally supposed to be "Ribbon's Gundam" and they Engrished it up?

My personal favorite of theirs was Dreamline. Not so much an older one or a fantasy song, but something about it just hit me right. Also loved Working Man and Distant Early Warning and Red Sector A and the Alchemist. But I do really like the band. I tend to have high respect for bands that don’t wash out their Bass
-
The only good song Rush has. Just my personal opinion. Song about dragons and walking through forests in the dark. Doing battle with a wizard.

Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+
Big s replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Finally finished watching Wonderman and not even sure why. There was one more good episode when they were trying to get the go pro video, but it really wasn’t that good. Kinda like a good episode of a not so good sitcom. Other than that it’s really tedious up til the very end. I think the best episodes were the Doorman episode and the Go Pro acquisition one, but those two episodes probably weren’t supposed to be the best. I feel like there were good moments here and there, but it’s tough to get through each episode. Eight episodes was way too long for this show, they should’ve just made a two hour movie and trimmed out the boring stuff and it could’ve actually been a god film. The acting is pretty good for the most part and the majority of the story could easily have been told in a shorter form. As os the show spent so much time on the dull stuff that they kinda rushed the ending. Overall, I just think this show isn’t really worth the time and even if the character does end up in a movie or marvel cameo of some kind, a simple explanation of this version of the character is all that’s needed- 1554 replies

I guess that’s why I go so into the vitruvian hacks figures and am excited for the new Battle Star Galactic figures. It’s easier to find space for really cool little dudes.- 1065 replies

Thanks. It’s going to be a fun one. Hail Satan! I can only listen to Merciful Fate while I build this one. lol Tonight I was able to get back to business on the KOG over the 7777. Got most parts painted tonight. Cockpit is dialed and just needs to dry before masking and final layer of gold tomorrow. Then it’s time for brush painting details throughout including some very cool pauldron scenes with angels ascending towards a gateway. Very tiny and two per pauldron. oh and I almost forgot. I got to spray that Gaia Star Bright Gold. I did two light coats and it came out really nice. Was thinking about a third but I’m happy with the two. Honestly I was just lazy and want to go to bed. The Final Warrior (最終戦士) Manga
totallyrobot replied to totallyrobot's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
From: https://esteban-d.blogspot.com/2019/08/los-anos-olvidados-de-studio-nue-parte-3_19.html "Furthermore, it appears that Grand Mark may also have had an effect on KO Group, as one of their products during this period was the amateur manga titled “Saishu Senshi” (“The Final Warrior”), which appeared immediately after the aforementioned NUE manga was completed. Created jointly by Hosono, Mikimoto, and Kawamori , this work consisted of a science fiction story featuring a spaceship that transformed into a robot, a space fortress, and a beautiful young woman whose design may be somewhat reminiscent of Matsumoto's enigmatic female characters . It seems that it was from this moment, if not earlier, that the theme of the transformable airplane into a robot emerged in Kawamori's mind, becoming an obsession for the young man for years, as we will see later. Surprisingly, all these elements present in Saishuu Senshi would be included five years later in the Macross series (the few images available of this work as a whole can also vaguely recall some characteristics of Gundam). The manga was created between June and November 1977 and had an approximate length of 80 to 90 pages . At the moment, we do not know how this amateur work circulated—whether it was a few copies, published as its own fanzine, or included as installments in a larger fanzine." Glad I found some more solid information, I guess all my questions are now answered thanks to this excellent Studio Nue research. -
The new one comes with this insert instead of the schematics. I'm thinking it'd be cool to combine this with the schematics from the other VF-0s and have it framed. Not entirely sure, but the plastic on the new one seems brighter white. I also checked the wings on both versions by placing them in front of my phone's flashlight and there's a difference. I don't know how to describe it but the effect of the bright light is different on each version's wings.

Since everything post-production has been basically done before, it would be nice to see some pre-prod items....like that vf-1d or a Breast Fighter or the early SDF-1 design So many opportunities for new things with the Macross flavor.

OMG. Time Rider, Time Bandits, and Buckaroo Banzai FTW! I lived on a Navy base back then. I would hound my older sisters endlessly until they took me to the Saturday matinee to watch whatever scifi/fantasy flick was playing. I loved those movies. I bet they won't stand the test of *time* for me, but you've inspired me to give them a shot this weekend. Many thanks, Lyle! -

TY! I could not agree more about figure sizes. I barely have space here in my 1000 sq. ft. house for my wife and me. I have to pick my battles, so to speak.- 1065 replies

They feel a little better than Star Wars black series figures, but I really don’t buy too many six inch ish figures. Personally I wish they’d do GI Joe figure more like the little Star Wars vintage line. It would work better for me for army building without worrying about space and they’re about the same height as 80’s GI Joe figures and don’t look as cheap as other small sized modern joes- 1065 replies

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next
m0n5t3r replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Preorders for SS86 Sunstreaker finally showed up here. But the comments on Hound several pages back made me rethink my preorder. So, I canceled Hound after preordering Sunstreaker. Aside from the weird looking feet and incomplete rear in jeep mode, the ultimate deal breaker for me is that panel at the back of the head. You would think that that would be something that should have been eliminated from modern toy engineering. I've been content with my Henkei Hound for the past 18 years, what's another 18... or whenever Hasbro or Takara admit that it's now entirely possible to miniaturize MP Hound.- 18177 replies

If it’s between those two, then definitely put fall ahead of the list. Woman of the Hour really wasn’t that great, kinda just ok. Not totally bad, but not good either
