The 'Hey look at this really cool model build I saw' post

It kind of made some sense to me. They were basically designing mech to combat an at the time, unseen giants. They probably were made more for fighting off boarding parties on ships or dealing with a smaller invasion force than what we got. The Spartan does have some ranged combat equipment and was built for strength possibly for enemy capture and a club to have piñata time with a giant meat bag if all else fails. -
I do truly hope things change for you. It sounds terrible and I really wish you the best and a whole lot of luck.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Hikaru Ichijo SL replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I finished Excel Saga and Azumanga daiou. They were both great. Even though I thought the last episode of excel saga was really crazy. I watched the 1st episode of Puni Puni Poemi and finally the bow of Yamato appears. Also when Hitomi spoke my 1st impression was it is definitely the same voice as Ushio from Clannad, -

Sorry to hear that @pengbuzz! Hopefully the housing situation straightens out for you. Really hoping things start breaking your way!

This is the TOS Enterprise. I no longer have the ability to mold new ones, as my heat gun died some time back and finances are so tight now (thanks to tariffs and such) that buying even model cement is impossible. No, I have no materials for that; all I have now is what is on hand. We're now in "survival mode". Once I run out of supplies, my modeling is over. We just got word today that we may not even have a place to live in the months to come. It's that bad. Anyways, this is going on indefinite hiatus, and possibly disposal, as we now need to make some hard choices. Sorry to bother everyone.

So I was transforming one of these last night and I had a bit of a revelation: I think I know why Bandai went with the slip-fit vertical pegs (and only the vertical pegs) for the arms in fighter mode. I think it's so you can drop the arms down and attach/remove the gun pod without having to move anything else (backpack/legs). Maybe this was already figured out, or stated directly by Bandai, but it's first time I've realized it. You can kind of do this with something like the yamcadia 1/60s, but I feel like you have to fiddle with the legs more to get the arms undone. Does it make it the "correct" design choice? Probably not, but at least I think I understand the logic behind it, finally. I will say, it was kind of nice to be able to easily attach the gun pod when I realized I had forgotten to. Probably not worth the other sacrifice to overall rigidity that they made, though.

I'm thinking it was designed with close quarters combat in mind, for dense urban environments. I don't know if we ever really see it used that way, but it makes sense. -
Agree, as it's keeping with what Anna told Dutch and Co.- it returns and hunts throughout generations. The fact that humans historically have spent far more efforts towards advancing their abilities to kill each other than any other concern (except perhaps the advancement of wealth) would undoubtedly offer irresistible opportunities for hunting to such a creature as the Predator. Looking forward to this.

Wow. That is so cool! The people in the delivery truck are so screwed.. -
Looking impressive! Looks like Federation Models is out of stock on 22" bussard replacements. Other than getting another kit, or plunge-molding a replacement... Is this going to be TOS Enterprise, or can it be a sister ship? That would allow some leeway in changing the style of bussards to something you could scratch together as a pair. If it is to be Enterprise, do I recall correctly that you did some molding in the past? If so, would it be possible for you to make a mold of the one you have? And of course, it follows if you have clear resin, or could get some from a craft store like Michaels? Thom

I usually just filter to see what the sold prices are. Gives a pretty good gauge of a real selling price.

The Spartan was always an oddball choice in the Macross Universe. You get all these jet-jockeys and Phalanx and Defenders shooting and lobbing missiles from afar, but then this conversation surely happened in some back office of OTM Destroid research.... 'You know what I want to do Joe? I want to PUNCH a Regult, Right in the freaking mouth. Maybe even bash it's head in with a club" "Geez Jerry, maybe you should take some time off, go on vacation, clear your head a little. I hear Ataria Island is taking tourists again" Jerry walks away, shaking his head, "right in the freaking mouth" heard just under his breath....
