Yes I did, and my Roy GBP, but I'm playing with Macross7 toys right now so they went straight in the closet. When Max arrives I'll do something for ThreeZero and I have a plan for more DX content but first Basara needs to save some space whales.

Yeah, the paint is really what sold me on picking up this one.

I just hope Bandai gets a color that vibrant.. you know.. if they ever get around to it.

The advantage of predominantly-painted surfaces is vibrant, consistent colors, which has often been an issue with unpainted plastic molded in specific colors (that never quite match the painted parts). Transformers collectors know what I'm talking about. 😒

No corners cut or expense spared on the paint app's here, though! 

Even the smallest tampographed markings are crystal-clear. 

More importantly, the specific shade ThreeZero used is pure red, neither as fuchsia as the HM-R nor as maroon as the Yamarcadia 1:60.  It's very anime-accurate to my eye.

Well, as most of you know, ThreeZero's VF-1 is basically a downscaled DX Chogokin, with all the pros and cons of that design.  The side-fillers are welcome, but are fiddly and require parts-swapping; the wings are never perfectly aligned in battroid mode, and the missile mounts are really tight; the legs are heavy with die-cast, so the entire leg assembly is likely to pop off during transformation.

If there were factory QC issues with previous releases, there's no evidence of them here.  I don't have problems with the canopy or the intakes or the landing gear or the sliders or the joints or the paint or anything else others have complained about.  Some of the joints are scary tight, but I expect that with a brand-new toy; in fact, I prefer it.

The double-jointed elbows are particularly appreciated:

My only gripe would be the unsightly gap that cuts through the roundel on the port side of the nosecone.

It's much less pronounced on the starboard side.

Of course, I do wish it had come with FAST packs...

...and didn't have that Robotech-specific "Miriya Sterling" label on the canopy. 😅

New pictures of the Super Pack.

It looks like we may have to buy an entirely new VF-1S Rick Hunter version to get the Super Pack unless they sell it separately.

Max has landed. Someone asked about shipping before, it came from Uni Express and I didn't see a secondary tariff charge so I think TZ took that one on the chin. They have since adjusted prices.

I just noticed how the Super pack boosters spread out in Battroid mode. I wonder if this is intentional or if the display was just jostled.

Looks like a loose fit on the prototype and it's falling off the peg.

On both sides though? Can’t really tell from the angle but it looks like both boosters are angled.

My guess is yes, they might have been originally taped into position and the tape got tired or the prototype has the same peg/slot sizes on either side and they don't have the fit right yet.

Thinking of placing a pre-order for M&Ms at BBTS; What are the current tariff charges looking like?  I tried googling and couldn't make sense of it.

One of the other toy shops I go to is charging $160 per toy if you pay cash when the items arrives. I haven’t done a preorder through them before but this was all setup with them last month with the tariffs already at full swing.
