AbdnAllHope Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I asked at the end of December and this is what I got as a reply. "Thank you for reaching out to us about your Genesis Climber figures. We still have hope that they will arrive at our warehouse. At this time, we have not received any confirmation that the figures will be canceled. Until we hear directly from the manufacturer, we always assume that our orders will be fulfilled. If the figure is canceled by the manufacturer, then we will always reach out to you via email about the cancellation. I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance and I will be happy to help. Have a great day!" Quote

They're not exactly taking any initiative here to ask the manufacture why the order is months late. Seems like they would want answers, so as not to leave their customers hanging. Quote

jenius Posted Friday at 06:45 PM Posted Friday at 06:45 PM I think I saw them in an auction as resin kits. Digging that alpha version of the Alpha :). The wings look super strange though so fighter mode might be goofy. Quote

Tough to get a good idea what fighter will look like when the wings are generally obscured by the arms. The hosts' awkward handling of the toys didn't help. Honestly, initially I thought it was going to be a low-vis version, and that piqued my curiosity. I'm not really feeling the huge shoulder cannons, though. If I end up going in on one of these, it'll most likely be the Omega, as I like it the best of the three. I do like like the color scheme of the AWACS one, though. It's a bit goofy with those huge canards and the huge lance, but its uniqueness is its charm. Quote

I keep going back & forth on this line, but now its more +ve than before. I'm thinking that instead of just recolors with different attachment accessories, the variants have key identity differences in form of the various wing configurations and I like they are doing this. Recalls the VF-0D / 0S, or the 31 Sigfrieds / Kairos. Quote

sh9000 Posted Saturday at 12:58 PM Posted Saturday at 12:58 PM I'll wait for Toyrise to release the original Legioss. Maybe there's a way to mod the feet. Or DNA can step in. Enemy mecha would also be cool. Quote

M'Kyuun Posted Saturday at 03:35 PM Posted Saturday at 03:35 PM So with all the wing variations they're doing, I wonder how that'll impact potential Tread connectivity? No skin in the game (yet) but I thought it a logical question. Quote

Recalls the VF-0D / 0S, or the 31 Sigfrieds / Kairos. If the wings from each variant are easily swapped, I will swap the "unorthodox" wings on the variants with more conventional wings from the initial purple/yellow release: I bought waaaaaay more purple/yellow ones than should be allowed for any one person, and it shouldn't be difficult to color match the paint. 26662 Posted Saturday at 07:33 PM Posted Saturday at 07:33 PM (edited) I am buying the heck out of these. They just look like easy-to-transform fun. I don't have any fidget spinner-things and I've never really taken a liking to them, but if I'm right about the handling of these alphas, you're looking at my new office desk fidget toys. I have so many bots that I've never transformed even once, and yet I nearly always buy multiples just to have one to transform. I think I avoid transforming them because I know that any amount of manipulation is going to negatively impact tolerances, and I really do not like all of that floppiness. Given what these toys are and given their price point, I'm not gonna have a problem actually enjoying them as intended. Edited Saturday at 07:47 PM by 26662 Quote
jenius Posted Saturday at 07:59 PM Posted Saturday at 07:59 PM I'm also excited. I think anyone who is a transformers fan will rightfully blast the cost of these but, since I'm used to Macross pricing, I'll be a lot more accepting. Quote
AbdnAllHope Posted yesterday at 05:22 PM Posted yesterday at 05:22 PM I'm all in. Can't wait. Am I the only one who was expecting a red one next? I like the black. It's fun. I don't care what colors they make I want them all. Quote

These aren't too terribly priced, especially for an anime that's even more niche than Macross. Too, compared to the ever-rising costs of Transformers, the crazy secondary market costs of the Sentinel Legioss toys, and the exorbitant cost of the upcoming Pose+ Legioss (which I've got POed), these toys look absolutely right in the realm of comfortable affordability. It's great to see the Legioss getting so much love, as I've always found it to be a cool design. While not everything that Toyrise is doing appeals 100% to me, I think it's great that they're doing their own variants, as it's a foregone conclusion that they'll eventually get around to the Eta, Iota, and Zeta. Moreover, the hard lean towards easy playability make these appealing options in addition to their prices respective to other Mospeada toys. I wish TT and Toyrise every success. FWIW, BBTS is already sold out of their Omega preorders. That was quick. Edited 20 hours ago by M'Kyuun Quote

I don't care what colors they make I want them all. It's going to take me a minute to commit the variants to memory. To level set: AFC-01X Legioss Omega - purple/yellow AFC-01X Legioss Delta - green/orange AFC-01X Legioss Alpha - grey/white I was surprised by the unorthodox wing design of their Delta. I figured Toyrise et al. would follow the typical playbook and release three or four color variants of the traditional Legioss and that would've been the end of things. And being a new product line from a company unfamiliar to me, I didn't expect the second variant, the Delta, to be announced before I had my Omegas already in hand. And now the Alpha's been announced. I want to take this roll-out strategy as a sign that the companies behind this line have a lot of faith these figures will resonate with fans and move lots of units: I'm certainly doing my part to help. Bring on the rest of the Greek alphabet! Quote

M'Kyuun Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm completely blown away by how fast the Omega has sold out pretty much everywhere. I guess the desire/demand for Legioss toys, especially one at this level of affordability and playability, is far beyond what I anticipated. I figured these things would linger a bit. I would have considered going in on a Delta instead, as I like the green color scheme and the AWACs aspect, but I'm not at all fond of the wing design (too skinny and I don't like the big unsightly beavertails at the inboard trailing edges). I don't like the lance gun design either (it would've been much cooler if the lance splayed open like Michael's sniper rifle in Macross: Frontier). Anyway, given how well this thing is selling, I'm hoping TT and Toyrise will do a reissue at some point for those of us slow on the trigger. Thus far, I only own a copy of Sentinel's Eta and I have a copy of the Pose+ Eta preordered so I may try to jump on either Toyrise's Iota or the Zeta when they release, even though the Eta's my favorite color scheme. I'm hoping the Pose+ turns out to be a fairly easy toy to manipulate and transform. It's a pricey beast, and along with all the detailed interior stuff, ease of playability seems to be one of their foot stomp points as well. My first issue Sentinel Eta, with its super tight shoulder joints, small-fidgety nature, and loose ankle joints isn't the most accommodating toy in-hand. It's beautiful and I love it, but it's just not much fun to handle and I'm hoping the Pose+ will be. The Toyrise Legioss offers a playable toy, too, and while I chose the Pose+ over Toyrise, I'm thinking I might have to go in on at least one of their Legioss variants just for the fun factor it offers. I'm looking forward to in-hand reviews of it. Congrats to all who managed to snag copies before they were sold out. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Its a good that Takara-Tomy are producing it, since over Three decades and half I always wanted one, the only Legioss I had was IMAI kit, back in late 80s. However I`ll keep following for future variations. I am sure they`ll make crossover with the TFs. Quote
SpaceCowboy Posted just now Posted just now Not sure where to post this, but thought I'd share a little mod I did to the old 1/72 Gakken Alpha. This toy holds a special place in my heart as it's the first toy I bought with my own money. Even as a kid, it looked wonky to me in fighter mode, with pathetic little wings that strained disbelief that this thing could fly. I recently got me one of the new Sentinel Legioss's. That thing is _awesome_. I had a thought of "I wonder how good the old 1/72 Gakken would look if it had a hinged wing like this". So I popped into Blender and mocked something up. I think it came out looking pretty good. This toy needs a missing link release. If it had a waste swivel, elbows, independent leg rotation, shoulder joints that could rotate forward...and these wings...that would really make a fun cheap toy. Ironically the SD Alpha released a few years ago has a lot of this, but they had to mess it up with a super deformed look and for some reason make it a pull back car. Why?!? I've uploaded the files to thingiverse. The wings are only 2mm thick, so the joint between the wing halves is prone to falling off, but you can push it back on easily enough. If I had more time, I'd redo all the other pieces of the toy I mentioned above to get the posability from this thing. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7296815/files Quote
