jvmacross
Getting close to Halloween...anyone go all out for their home Halloween displays? Seems Halloween home decorating gets bigger each year....some folks even out-do Christmas displays!! Show off what you got! Just started on mine this past weekend....yes, I am also a big NBX fan! Outside... All Hail the Pumpkin King!!!...still missing the Halloween Town sign above his pumpkin head.... Zero, the ghost dog.... Lock, Shock, and Barrel masks..... Inside.... Sally and Oogie Boogie......I didn't get a chance to setup the Jack animatronic yet.... Happy Halloween Macross World!!!
Dynaman
The best part is the decorations can stay up till Christmas too.
jvmacross
Ha! True...just add a Christmas wreath here....Santa hat there...a candy cane....and you're "Making Christmas"!!
derex3592
My wife is a Halloween nut---so I'll be using some AV toys from my job this year to do up the house for her, I'll post pics on Halloween or the day after!
nightmareB4macross
My daughter wanted to do Over the Garden Wall this year, as we have been long time fans. She wanted these decorations for her birthday party as well. Most everything is cobbled together from various media and nothing is exact like the cartoon but we wanted to keep it under budget and build it all in one day. We usually go Nightmare Before Christmas but this is indeed a nice change. And that’s a Rock Fact!
VF-27_driver
HI all, LOL!!! Awesum pics guys! IS that the Macross kite??? The third pic from the bottom, SMS squardron Leader? Thanx, Ear-ekk
Dynaman
Excellent Halloween display. All I put up is a plastic pumpkin and skeleton.
Mommar
I could take a pic of my unkept front lawn. There’s enough real spiders in the walk way to be horrifying. Which reminds me I have four Black Widows to kill out there...

505thAirborne
Here are some pics of my house, should have used my other camera but here we are with some before & after dark shots! I had the 1978 Halloween soundtrack playing in the background.
jvmacross
It's Halloween time again! After maybe 15 years in storage, I finally decided to pull out my Dept 56 Halloween Village set for display....had a blast setting it up with the kids...Been collecting these since the first "Haunted Mansion" was released by Dept 56 back in 1998! Been adding a few pieces from the collection every year, but by no means do I have all of them....I particularly like the "amusement park" editions with the Halloween theme...I wasn't able to display everything I have but I think I displayed enough of them....most have some sort of gimmick, such as sound, motion, and lights...many have all three! Happy Halloween MacrossWorld!
Hikuro
I'm kind of keeping things low key this year....new town, new home, not exactly a safe neighborhood either. I did put out my projector, a few tombstones, a zombie lawn ornament with a radioactive brain that lights up and a couple of ghosts. But also did some traditional cotton webbing over a lot of the front of the house....sadly we had a couple of really big storms this week and it ruined a lot of what I put up. Sort of putting it back together. I think next year though if we get a lot of kids this year, will certainly go all in on some fun stuff like last year. jvmacross
Meanwhile outside....added an Oogie Boogie inflatable to the display....Lock, Shock and Barrel joins Halloween Town too! Welcome to Halloween Town! Everyone's favorite ghost dog! My son is a Ghostbuster this year....complete with Ecto goggles and Proton pack from the Spirit Halloween store.....so I needed a prop...i considered the available ECTO-1 inflatable...maybe next year.... Required front door jack-o-lanterns! Lock, Shock and Barrel masks hanging on the front door for a friendly Halloween greeting!
505thAirborne
Looking fantastic everyone, amazing displays!! Jack Skellington & Ghost Busters! Sadly for me Halloween is canceled, going to be 38 degrees for a high and possibly snow showers... (times likes this I really miss living in Cali). Mog
I did these pumpkins a few years back: Was more ambitious three years ago, and made one for each family member: Hail Hydra!! Edited October 27, 2019 by Mog
tekering
Fantastic work, @jvmacross! I love your miniature Halloween Town. @Mog, how the hell do you carve pumpkins like that?
Mog
I usually find a pattern online, pin it to the pumpkin, and then use a pushpin to get the pattern onto the pumpkin. Then it’s just a matter of cutting. Usually gotta use the pumpkin carving tools you usually find at Target or Walmart.
mikeszekely
I'm way too lazy to decorate, but we did put out a projector, and I got some pumpkins to carve with my wife and daughter tomorrow evening. When Halloween rolls around my wife will take my daughter trick-or-treating as Elsa and Olaf, and I'll sit outside with my neighbor and hand out candy. This year I'm going to be Casual Vader (Black Series helmet, gloves, a t-shirt with Vader's armor screen-printed on it, black sweats, slippers, a bathrobe, and a "Best Dad Ever" mug). vladykins
A few shots from the house. We built a bunch of gravestones.

derex3592
I've never been a big Halloween guy.....however...wife is a HUGE Halloween person! Sooo yeh...this was last years setup, which this year will be rinse and repeat. Weather's gonna be a bit chilly and possibly rainy here though...which sucks for the kiddos, but hey, that's Texas for ya! EDIT......need more Spiderpumpkins!!! I want like an army of them in the yard!!! HAHAHAHA! Like something out of Starship Troopers! Edited October 27, 2019 by derex3592
nightmareB4macross
That is one cool spiderpumpkin!! we just celebrated my daughter’s birthday last week and she wanted to celebrate with the ghost with most!
Mog
So, I got inspired to carve a pumpkin this year, thanks to this thread. Thought about doing an Macross Plus one, but I don’t think most people would get it or recognize Isamu’s hand plane pose. (People would probably mistake Isamu for some zombie silhouette.) But then I found this pattern, which works as an old school callback for the new series (that wrapped up last December) and the SOC figure that was re-released this past summer:

TangledThorns
My company held a Halloween contest for best costume and best office/cubicle decoration. My team won best office decoration, I took home the prize of a $50 gift card since I did all the work. Thats me in my costume in my office. Didn't win best costume though, lol. tekering
Congratulations, @TangledThorns! I freaked out a few kids (and the landlady) with my classroom decorations...
jvmacross
Anyone started decorating for Halloween yet? Still not even sure how trick-or-treating is going to be handled in my neck of the woods...how about in your areas?
505thAirborne
Nice, love all of the Jack Skellington displays!!! Sadly it's been getting colder each year here in Kansas hence there are no kids out at night. Last year it flurried all day into night. I love Halloween with a passion but it's when the weather won't cooperate. It's there's a window of warm weather this year, I'll go for it. jvmacross
Yep....it was freezing last year in the Chicago area....but that has never stopped the kids (or their parents) around here from trick-or-treating...lol Heck....I can't recall a decent Halloween night in terms of the weather for some time.....still enjoy it though....will probably skip the Pumpkin Farms with the kids though....thinking about some othe "safer" alternatives.... TangledThorns
My wife put up the decorations already, nothing fancy but its pretty with the purple and orange lighting. Anybody plan on having their kids go Trick or Treating this year? Some neighborhoods aren't but ours will. We'll give out treats using tongs. And its Halloween so you should be wearing a mask anyways, lol.
