I'm going to say most of that 36mm difference is in the Quead's top antenna, like the spire of a high rise building :)
I think its going to be LARGE

I've used them a couple times. Never for multiple pre-orders and/or combining pre-orders and in-stock, though, since IIRC they don't consolidate orders the way HLJ do. Or if they do, it's not explained in a way that I was able to comprehend and take advantage of. If you're going to order these and only these, then they're a solid legacy choice.

It’s a bit of a limited option. You have to pick the option that says monthly recombination, and then it only works for items from the same release month, but if an item gets pushed back a month, then it automatically will ship separately. It’s a little confusing and doesn’t always work out

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time the movie version has been available in any scale, and the first time any version has been available in this scale (in plastic)?

Yes, the movie version has never had a plastic model or toy, the tv version had one in 1/144 by Imai, but I got a pretty good feeling that 1/72 is coming soon for the tv version

There was an Experten kit in 1/100. The kit included a pilot figure as well.

Pic below is just for reference. This kit is going to be huge.

And found another kit. Wow.

This reaffirms my wish for a VF-11 battroid. Preferably a Hasegawa in 1/72. If PLAMAX does one, that's also cool. And a YF-21 battroid.

I've got a few of the 1/72 armored battroid VF-11's in resin. But I would definitely be into a hasegawa version.

Yeah, there’s been a few resin ones, but this will be the first plastic one. I do like the resin interpretations, but the new hasegawa one is more like the line art and supposedly has some details from original sketches

Just saw this on the HLJ description...cool some new Miytatake art (its minor, but I don't care)

"This kit was fully supervised by Kazutaka Miyatake! In particular, the mechanical details of the neck, the circular details of the arms and legs, and the shape and details of the wrists are all based on newly drawn rough sketches (the sketches are reproduced in the assembly instructions). "

I posted the full description on the previous page and really excited to see a bit of new art from a classic master as a cool bonus

I was looking at the line art again and I can't figure out how a pilot is supposed to fit in there. I know, anime magic... But it seems extremely cramped in there!

Also, what are all those squiggly bits surrounding the pilot?

It's kind of supposed to be extremely cramped.  The head, shoulders, and left arm of the pilot can be seen in the image on the right, and the mecha's view screen is ridiculously close to the face shield on the pilot's helmet!

As some of the captions are cut off, I dusted off my copy of the Macross movie Gold Book to find out what those bits are:

Right image, lower right:

肩や胸にも肉質パイプがからんでいます。(Fleshy pipes also entwine around the shoulders and chest.)

Bottom:

胸から下は肉質パイプクッションに完全にうずもれています。(From the chest down, the pilot is completely covered by a fleshy pipe cushion.)

The description (in the Gold Book) provides a bit more context to those "fleshy pipes" (= the squiggly bits):

倍力機の内部は半生体組織となっており、兵員の肉体と生体コネクターによって直接的に接合される。(The interior of the servos consists of semi-biological tissue, and is directly connected to the soldier's body via biological connectors.)

神経系による直接制御は補助的なシステムとされ、過剰フィードバックによる兵員と倍力機の神経的損傷を防ぐ設計となっている。(Direct neural control is considered to be an auxiliary system, designed to prevent neurological damage to both soldier and the servos due to excessive feedback.)

There's a lot to unpack in that description... 😮

Just like with the movie Queadluun Rau, they seem to have a biomechanical connection. Kinda similar to the squishy creepy Bodol Zer stuff is.IMG_3647.jpeg.1f8414fe62cfd037ca01c0733e250935.jpegIMG_2315.png.4a7e0854a9daef95f77ea0a991d23b63.pngthe lower is the bio mechanics for the Queadluun Rau. DYRL had some creepy technology

I don't blame you, honestly. At this point, i need to be focused on getting my stuff out of private warehouse..!

I can't bring myself to. It's one thing to pay shipping costs and tarrif cost... it is entirely another to also have to pay hlj the same cost + some in handeling fees. My breakdown is something like:

$65 fedex shipping

$44 tarrifs

$112 handeling fees

It be one think of my warehouse was older than 1-2months old where I could understand it a little better. I think my oldest item is 2.5 weeks.
