Scyla Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Does this have renewal valk quality or the same quality of v1 valks? Hard to tell since it is a different beast. Check out JoshBs excellent review over at CollectionDX: The VB-6 has shoulder joints that are prone of developing cracks so maybe the refined the toy for this release.
Sandman Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Also is it being re-released at the same price it was originally released at?
kyekye Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I believe it's the same toy with new body color (more greenish)/ nose art (new design) and padded price tag DX Chogokin Macross Frontier VB-6 Koenig Monster list prices (Regular Version) 16,800 JPY (SP Ver.) 21,600 JPY Wings of Valkyrie Ver. 23760 JPY
SpoonieG2010 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 This is something that must be bought!!!
McFly!! Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 i'm leaning towards not getting into this, mostly because i'm saving up for other stuff but, also because it's not really 1/60-ish
Dimis Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) I have the original regular and to be honest my experience with it was not extremely fun. A lot of the transformation reminded me of Yamato's YF-21 transformation. Find the sweet spot here, push a bit those parts together for tolerance, pull that aside a bit for clearance. I wouldn't transform it again. - Also notice how many members said, "i used to have one, but..." - But it is worth buying just for the heft. It has TONS of diecast. It would be my first toy of choice against an intruder who tried to steal my collection. You can even hold it like a weapon without pricking your fingers. Edited October 21, 2014 by Dimis
Scyla Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I'm definitely gonna get it because I missed out on the first release of the toy. However I would have preferred a pink paint job.
Sandman Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 The pink monster. A name just as fun as the pink pecker. Lol.

I wonder why the price jumps as much as it does from the regular version to the other 2 versions.
Valkyrie Magnus Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 This one has to be added to my collection.
Kanedas Bike Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Is this the information for the new release? I wonder why the price jumps as much as it does from the regular version to the other 2 versions. Probably (one of) the same reasons Arcadia has shown such an increase in price - the local Japanese and global economies and cost to produce these things. -b.

IYour guess is as good as mine.. (SP Ver.) 4,800 JPY more than regular for display base + package and decal art + extra labor Wings of Valkyrie Ver. 6,960 JPY more than regular for display base (?) + new color + new package and new decal art + increased labor
Kanedas Bike Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 ^Thanks for posting those pics/scans. -b.
Saburo Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) The monster is looking good, it will be nice to add one... or maybe 2 to my collection. Edited October 22, 2014 by Saburo

kyekye Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 it's to adjust for inflation. the yen is weaker to usd. I'm only comparing original JPY, not USD. Maybe it's related to CHY (yuan) to JPY to get their price in Japan.

MacrossJunkie Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 The color looks a lot more like the ones used on Yamato's version.
wm cheng Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) I'm looking forward to this one - nicely different, really lends itself to more of a tank/armored vehicle kind of weathering. Especially with all the nicely tampoed markings that Bandai provides! Edited October 22, 2014 by wm cheng
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) I believe it's the same toy with new body color (more greenish)/ nose art (new design) and padded price tag sorry, quoted wrong post, i was saying the padded price tag is to adjust for inflation, i just compared yen to usd as reference to those living in the states. regardless whether being compared to usd or yuan, the yen globally is weaker. wm cheng Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Isn't it just greed and profiteering? I don't think foreign sales even registers on their radar (especially with the licensing issues) so comparing the yen to foreign currencies is kind of mute. Don't they just cater mostly to sales within Japan?
skullmilitia Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Bandai: ok here's a Konig Monster, less accessories than the SP, but more expensive... BUY BUY BUY. Consumer: eh Macross Fan: I'm buying 6 Transformers Fan: It's out of scale Robotech Fan: is that from Academy?

aceoftherebellion Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Prices across the entire hobby industry have been going up. It's hardly a money-grab if it's industry-wide. http://www.hobbyalerts.com/scary-fact-prices-of-figures-rose-80-from-2006-2013/ Here's an article from last year comparing prices of figures from other companies. That's pretty much just the reality of how things are right now.
Loop Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 So from the scans is the Wings of Valkyrie Ver. the lighter one? I already have the lighter color on the first run SP version I have. All I know so far is that I want the dark olive drab colored one lol.

joppewo Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Well it's a web exclusive, so no, you will be charged the tax inclusive price of 23,600 + a small extra for 'commission' if you get it from NY etc.
Raya1823 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I see the po is up at NY but since i already have the Yamato and the Bandai, I'm going to pass on this one.
CF18 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 They are showing a dark green version and a dark brown version in magazine, but only listed a dark brown version for pre-order. Is there going to be two versions?
