Whats the trick to getting these things heads to stick up properly in battroid?

Just have to keep working at it, I usually fiddle with the neck part from under the chest section while pulling it up and out. There is a double hinge inside that seems to have to be just right.

I really hope they opt to do the tornado pack for the renewal 25F and G. I plan on leaving my F sans additional accessories, the S in full armor, the G with the tornado pack, and the RVF with the super pack (assuming they decide to make the RVF and super packs to go with it). Just so I can have one of each displayed.

My 25S with both packs is here from Peaugh but it was delivered to work and i'm off today. It's all good just a few hours more and it will be mine. Also if I'm really lucky I might also have the VF25G i got from ebay, it would make for a great weekend to have both.

Correction just checked shipping status, I believe both are in. I know the 25G is in, and I believe the 25S is as well.

I have a question on the full armor that I'm hoping someone could answer for me since I couldn't find any illustrations in the manual regarding it. The full armor comes with two cover plates for the crotch area. One is thinner near the bottom with a section cut out of it compared to the other piece. What is the function of one over the other?

The one that has the cutout is useful for the stand in batteroid mode and it also allows you to use the other crotch support piece for batteroid without the stand. If you look at the stand adapter for batteroid, there is a part that fits in the cut out of the crotch cover. The other support part that comes with the armor is for standing the armored batteroid without the stand giving it added support to hold a pose. Edited by Loop

Thank you, Loop. That was extremely helpful. I looked back at the instruction sheet and saw that it was depicted after all, but I just had no idea what it was trying to tell me until after what you said.

So essentially, I shouldn't bother with the full piece and just go with the adapter compatible piece if I don't want to keep swapping. I was working on the weathering for the armor parts and wasn't sure which one I should do. Now I know :)

I think folks can figure out where I'm going with this. :D Made one of my 10 cent flight stands for armored Ozma, and I'm putting the finishing touches on some missiles for his "Fired a billion missiles and I only managed to piss it off..." attack. lol Enjoy the finished smoke burst effects in the meantime.

Ugh. My VF-25S is suffering from severely floppy hip joint syndrome. I've removed one of the legs and covered the ball joint with 2 coats of clear nail polish, and that didn't help a single bit. What should I try next?

i take some sand paper and "polish" the balls, that helps a lot but you must do it after the super glue or nail polish (i used super glue) or you will remove the "paint" or coat that colors the die cast, the point it´s to quit the mirror polished of the ball, i think that solution will last longer :)

I usually just stick with superglue (hah. stick. :p). I get the thickest and slowest drying I can find, work it into the joint, then just sit around moving it for a while while the glue dries. It does have a tendency to leave white residue, or fog plastic parts a bit, so just be careful where you use it.

And anyway, the thing I was most concerned about for my kits worked out nicely. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to try and build my Alto and Ozma armored kits so I could transform them easily, or just stick them in one position for good. Once they released the renewals, I lost any regret I might have about building the models in a permanent pose. If I ever get the urge to pose/transform one, I've got the toy, so the kits are getting glued permanently in one pose.

Just posted these in my DIY thread, but figured it'd go well in this thread too... enjoy! I'll get to the other missile pods later, but too many other projects going on for now. There aren't too many good photos for Ozma's missile launch sequence, so I did the best I could with what I had to make it accurate...

Wow, zoffy. Your missiles look fantastic. I think they look better than the launching missiles that came with the web exclusive version of the GBP-1S.

Thanks for the props everyone! It's hard to really compare them to the GBP exclusives though since my effects and Yamato's are emulating two very different art styles from two different eras of animation. I feel like the Yamato effects were great in capturing the hand drawn old school art in the original Macross, but the modern cg art in Frontier requires a very different approach in order to be accurate to what was shown on screen. I'm pretty happy with how it came together. :)
