  1. Use the quote feature, it'll help make what you're trying to say clearer. Also, did you miss this? The VA-3M used by Macross Galaxy in 2059. No, and no. They are most likely VA-14 or some other VA craft, with a smattering of VA-3 (or 3M). The VB is most likely a mix of the VB-6 and VAB-2, along with other VB's that haven't been detailed. ... you're question has already been answered in the links provided above. In short, the ones that have a FB mount it on a dedicated DORSAL hard point. The ones that have a GP mount it on one of the eleven (11) VENTRAL hard-points. The VENTRAL fuselage hard-points can also mount additional frequency band jamming pods on some models. If no GB or FBJP are carried, then armaments can be carried on all VENTRAL hard points.
  2. @9A: Oh! Exciting. I was worried that they would just be reprints of the Extra Sheets. Instead, they're getting the deluxe treatment as Mechanic pages. Nuts! It's a reprint of the front half of Extra Sheet #8 in Mechanic sheet guise. Text looks unchanged, too. >.<
  3. Character: MF Cit 02A: Sheryl Nome: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/Fcit02ASherylNome.php Gubaba, thanks for the permission to use your translation. I've noted all the minor changes in the php. The one that has been sneaking under the radar is: the page number was changed from 03A to 02A. Timeline 03A: Mayan Shrine Maiden (partial): http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline03A.php Changes: - Page Number: 03 to 03A - Carrier Asuka: B&W to colourized image
  4. The changes to how Google handles images is annoying. >.< Hopefully this new one will work. Heh, I haven't had the opposite (fire := five bomber) happen, yet.
  5. Every time I see NepLeague's "five bomber" segment, I think they're saying "fire bomber".
  6. Episode M 02A & B: SDFM Eps. 2 "Count Down": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/M02ABeps2.php I found parts of this quite interesting - especially the behind the scenes stuff! I'm also going to be combining both episode sheets into one php. Otherwise that HD folder is going to get scary, right quick!
  7. That's already kinda been answered in earlier posts in this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=32805&p=1018336 Not many images have been changed (I'd guesstimate a rate of 1 to 3 per issue), and of those, they're images that were later colourized when their corresponding Mechanic sheet (or whatever) was created. The only reason I mentioned it re: #3 is that they changed the VE-1 Valkyrie to the RVF-25 in the Tech: VF sheet where it talks about EW VFs. THAT one stood out, as it changed the implication of the blurb from "one-off VE-1" to "includes all RVF type VFs".
  8. DYRL UN 05A: VF-1S Strike Valkyrie: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/DYRLun05AVF1Sstrike.php Another one of those "I'll only do the stats block and extra report. Oh, that paragraph looks interesting. That one, too (x many). Meh, already about 2/3 done, might as well finish it" sheets. Anyhow, sheet is basically unchanged from the original release. I was surprised at how informative the sheet was, especially when it came to detailing the dual beam gun. Heroine Gallery Sheet; Kuran Kuran x Macross Quarter / Ranka Lee x VF-1S: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRheroine/HeroineGalleryMF.php#KuranKuranxMacrossQuarter As the text on these sheets is... limited, I've reedited the first sheet, and slapped this page onto that one.
  9. Uhm, cylinders are part of the engine. Now, if the anti-matter storage pods are ejected at the same time, I can appreciate that. But we don't see something that can be definitively agreed upon as the core, right? All in all, it's not the clearest sequence...
  10. It IS from the "This is Animation Special Macross Plus: Variable Fighter's Aero Report". Here's the proper link from my HP to it: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/OTmiscbooks.php#M+ Incorrect. There are no custom models let alone pictures of custom models. Only the original image, which predates the VA-3's appearance in such properties as Dynamite 7 and VF-X2. You can find further information on the VA-3 and it's variants in the links on the link above, as well as the translations to the Macross Chronicles ( http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCindex.php ), and the Macross Compendium (the majority of that info comes from the TiAS:M+ VFAR). Those are the images that came with the TiAS:M+ VFAR section on the VA-3. Here's some further information (remember, Green is official setting info): http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Statistics/VA-3/VA-3.php http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Statistics/VA-3/EVA-3.php http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Statistics/VA-3/VA-3M.php http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Statistics/VA-3/VA-3CKai.php
  11. Issue 3 content breakdown: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRseriesguide/MCRseriesguide.php#3 Summary: I really like whoever they've got colour correcting at the printer. The colours are vivid compared to the original run, especially the red in the VF-19 Kai. Oddly, the episode sheets leave me with the impression that while SDF:M is colourful, MF is washed out, and Earth-tones. Might just be the due to the episode... The VF-19Kai sheet is the A sheet. Presumably the Battroid mode, Sound Booster equipped painting in the original will be moved to the B sheet, just like what has been done with the new YF-19 w/ FAST packs painting.
  12. Seconded. Sure, the new painting of the VF-19 Kai and the smattering of colourized images that replace B&W ones are nice, but... ... 2 pages per episode?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I was under the impression that only the 1st episode would be getting that deluxe treatment. It's also worrisome, as it means that the lion's share of the extra 30 issues of content is... episode sheets. >.<
  13. Answers: 1) yes 2) if I understand things, yes, and most likely 1/1000 scale 3) I believe it's the additional kit that comes with the set (like the enemy carrier that came with the first set), and it's the same, or similar scale as the Dengeki Hobby Cosmo Falcon. PS: unknown. But there were a bunch of decal templates that came with Dengeki Hobby 2013.01. Alas, they all had to be copied onto decal sheets AND increased in size. >.<
  14. I was only planning to do the extra reports on the following 2, but one thing led to another, and I've gone and translated such things as the descriptive title, personal data, character interrelation chart and character header episodes. The main thing is that the two sheets are essentially unchanged from the previous edition. Citizen: M UN 01A Ichijo Hikaru: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/MUN01AIchijoHikaru.php 7 Citizen 02A Mylene Flare Jiinasu: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/7cit02AMyleneJiinasu.php
  15. Character Zero 00A "Macross Zero" Character Interrelation Chart: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/Zero00ACharacterInterrelation.php All of the front, part of the back. As always, rendering a chart in text format results in something less than satisfying. Anyhow... There are some interesting tidbits of info on the sheet. Most especially the relationship of Sara and Shin after the end of Macross Zero!
  16. They can handle deep space; you know, a sunny side of 121℃, a dark side of -157℃, and able to shrug off micrometeorite hits. In M7, a pair of VFs continued to operate inside a volcano, directly over an active magma chamber. They also function for long periods in desert (windblown sand) conditions, without apparent negative affects, and can reenter an atmosphere without any thermal protection. I don't think we've seen a bird strike, so it's unclear how robust the fan blades are. On the other hand, I presume the canopy and other parts of the fuselage can withstand a bird strike.

Where one is in the world tends to influence one's perceptions of the world. Things that are taken for granted where one is may be utterly bizarre or completely unknown to someone from somewhere else. Hopefully us MWers will always keep that in mind when we post. I'd like to say ignorance is bliss, but I think it's the ugly side of the sense of entitlement making it's presence known... EDIT: replaced you with one - as it's intended for everyone, not just Tochiro.
  18. Episode F 01A: Macross F Eps. 1 "Close Encounter" http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/F01Aeps1.php & Episode F 01B: Macross F Eps. 1 "Close Encounter" http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/F01Beps1.php A few more interesting bits of series meta-data.
  19. Did you indicate from which issue you want to start receiving it? I haven't looked at the HP order form, but the postcard sized one in the back of #2 has a place to fill that in. There's no indication that the shipping charge applies to individual issues (I've only seen it in the fine print for the binders). The explanation is easy: mailing fees are covered by not having to pay the other middle men used when you buy from a store.

Let's all not forget the target market: Japan. The majority of the people who buy and play games, buy and play RPGs. RPGs and RPG style games are not only proven winners, they compose a large chunk of the game market. The Western (US) market is more oriented toward action and simulator games without the RPG market. There's bound to be a disconnect between what Western gamers want, and Japanese game companies are producing for their target domestic market. Reality check: we're lucky to be getting such a high quality game on the PS3. Period. The lion's share of the Japanese market is the hand-held console. I don't think it's Macross fandom per se. Western anime/gaming fandom in general has been spoiled by the internet. "Look in a dictionary to try a game/anime? Yeek!"
  21. Episode 7 01A: Macross 7 Eps. 1 "Speaker Pod" http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/701Aeps1.php & Episode 7 01B: Macross 7 Eps. 1 "Speaker Pod" http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/701Beps1.php Focused on the Commentary and Topics on both sheets. Some interesting anecdotal stuff there. I swear I could hear Basara's voice as I did the preview of the next episode... EDIT: fixing mistake on sheet number
  22. Yerm, I meant more in the sense of "not stripping down to the underwear to do stuff that any sane person would want to wear the appropriate gear for". Historical (in)accuracy kinda fits into that - as in: she's not in her loin cloth while swinging her sword, right?
  23. Nothing. You like the realistic portrayal of women.
  24. Goods 03 Plastic Model: Bandai "Macross F" 1/100 scale Fighter Mode Series: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgoods/03BandaMFfighterModeSeries.php ... not as much bang-for-the-buck as I would've liked with the page...
  25. Jar-jar isn't the problem. At best, the character was an experiment. In general, the character is a distraction, just like the fancy CG visual effects and fight choreography. Distraction from what? The bad writing.
