So what is this, some new Macross book, an actual ride, ala star tours, or something else, I am a bit confused. And I too am not loving the new take on the VF-19.

About damn time, I used to work on that program and the delays frustrated me to no end.

IIRC the webisodes were suppossed to have a pretty big gap between when he was getting ready for his first mission, and the combat op seen later. I think Moore some something like a year between those flashbacks, hence all the kill markings on his viper in the combat scenes. Also, check this model out: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=25663 Have we ever figured out how/when the viper retracts its gear in the tube yet?

I am so looking forward to watching this finally come to fruition, if I were even competent at models and didn't have the expenses I do I would be all over this.

Looks funny, and I think Portman actually looks good in this one, must have eaten a cheeseburger beforehand, normally I can't stand to look at her.

Iron Eagle is an exercise in how to get yourself court martialed in the air force for misapropriation of government equipment. In fact the Air Force was so against the story that they removed all support for the movie, and then the whole thing had to be filmed using Israeli Air Force aircaft, hence the Kfirs. I will give props for using KFirs as MIGs since they are at least a foreign airframe. But at least they didn't use F-4s like they did in Iron Eagle 2. Plus the aerials are so good because the same guy who did the aerial fight scenes in Blue THunder did the coreography.

What happened to his website, it's not up anymore.

Forgot to mention this, but the 787 and and 747-8 have been doing flight tests out here at Edwards the last few weeks, DH would lose his mind watching the flight line right now. Where else can you in an hour period watch a Global Hawk, F-35, F-22, F-16, NASA F-18s, 787, 747-8, C-17, and a plethora of others take off and land in succession?

They nee o cast Bridget Regan from Legend of the Seeker for the role, she would b perfect.
-
Seriously not impressed with the character and armor (esp) design. Pass.
-
Wow, there's something you don't see everyday, a B-2 and a 787 in the pattern around Edwards, very cool to see. *Cue DH's head exploding*

I was up in the bay area last week, Antioch, CA, to be precise and I saw these trucks for "Indy Custom Fleet Detailing." Unfortunately I did not have my camera but the badging on them was remarkably like that of a red Hikaru VF-1 including the UN Spacy Kite. The trucks I saw where numbers 4 and 5 so they must have more. It was kind of cool to see, just wish I had my camera. So, MWers in the bay-sac area if you need your care detailed call these guys and ask why they went with a Valkyrie style paint scheme with the name Indy.

The computer and electronics super geek thread

Ok, I am really getting frustrated with Dragon Naturally. I got it in the hopes that when I dictate my stories to myself in the car using my MP3 player, which has a great mike, that I could use it to transcribe what I dictate instead of me slogging through it. So far no such luck. The blasted software has a hard enough time recognizing my voice, but it won't read any of my audio files because they are 32bit 2-channel. If I can train it to recognize my voice great, but how do I change those audio files down to 1 channel 16 bit? Any ideas guys, I have about half my rewrite on audio right now and transcribing it will take forever otherwise. -
Hmm, that ankle joint makes me nervous, it will all but have to be metal to take the stress, also a rubber boot around it would be nice to hide that joint.

I have confirmation from someone I work with here who was an FTE on YF-23 that those are real pictures. The "shock cones" are actually meant more as radar blockers, but yes they had the added benefit of increasing the top speed somewhat. THere were some later drawings as well for other production variants, and they were quite sweet. Oh but if I could only share them with you guys.

Not mine, but very cool none the less http://www.joecustoms.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=24680&sid=eec137bcb768b12b8fd7fa1965c2286e

Let me run it past the money lady, she may balk at the price, but I would love to get one for my boys.
-
You evil bastig, the one project that I would actually buy too, since I am terrible at models, I would love to get my hands on that project, you just gave everyone on MW a woody and they don't know why. I bet half the people on here will want to buy it if the price is reasonable.
-
Ok, if my transfer/promotion goes throuhg I am defintiely buying this, would prefer a Blazer, but I will buy this.

You should sell the patterns so we can make our own.

JSI 1/18 Scale F-14 Tomcat Announced

I like this new scheme, too bad I don;t have the funds get one, or even attend Comicon this year. What I really want though is that SU-30, I have some funds hidden away just for that if it ever comes out. -
Must see more pictures of this stealth weapons pod, I've been doodling stealth sidewinder pods for years, some of which were "borrowed" by a friend of mine from Raytheon. Mine were strictly one and two winder pods, but still, I want to see how close this is to my ideas.
