    Ok, were those Z-95s in the wondercon trailer around the 22, 23 second mark? The nose was wrong for the ARC fighters.

    You've set yourself up for a daunting task wanting to try and justify bringing back the F-14. If you want a ton of stuff on the F-14, go here: http://www.anft.net/ They are F-14 fanatics there. As for how to bring back the F-14, Tomcat 2000 was a good proposal and incorporated a lot of what DH mentioned. Unfortunately as DH mentioned the F-14 was a maintenance hog, and it just got harder the older she got. Turning her into an FSW, epic fail, the design just doesn't work for it, you can't just slap new wings on a plane and expect it to fly. Now, does this paper have to be on a combat aircraft? Taking on that subject alone increases the complexity of your paper. I'm confused a little by some of your earlier comments, is this an engineering class or what? What is the degree program, what school? Also go look over on www.up-ship.com and search the blog, he has a lot of data on various planes, modificiations, what ifs, etc... Some of the APR back catalog might have some data you could use as well. Also how technical is this paper suppossed to get?

    Nice idea, but a bit overdone, I don't think there should be that many windows. I do like the glowing landing strips on the ARMDs though, it is a nice touch and I could see those lighting up for landing operations.

    Quick question, in the scene where Rush is looking for his ten volunteers to stay behind, it sounds like he said they were only a year away from the signal, is that correct or did I hear it wrong?

    While the teaser leaves me feeling uncertain about this movie, the info coming from Mike Stackpole (who is writing the novelization) makes me hopeful. This movie will be much more faithful to the source material than the Arnold movies or the comics, which, to be fair, took a great many liberties. Stackpole even comments that Momoa was a more accurate Conan and played the part well, so crossing my fingers on this.

    True story back in 1999 or 2000, I was driving by Holloman and the germans were there with their MiG-29s. I was very cool to see them flying about, and escorting the F-117 in for landing while it was doing touch and goes.
