So is this in leiu of that awesome looking mechwarrior game we heard about last year?
-
that or her mammaries had been busy in the previous two years and she had't told shephard, should be interesting to see if its revealed that she had kids in the interim, either Sheps or that alien guys. I noticed that, quite realistically, any of the matriarch asari had larger tracks of land then the younger dancer asari, interesting...

Go for it, SC is welcome as well

Going through another major redesign kick of the ships in my Spiral War book universe while I am rewriting the book. FIrst up in the venerable Splicer-1000 Dagger light fighter/trainer. Here is the progress so far and for comparison the old version. I will retain certain key parts and elements off of the last version but will be making other significant changes to better reflect the tech level and to make texturing easier. First the Old version: Now the new girl: Showing off her awesome engines: Baby has gotten a little thicker up front, but looks sleeker IMHO: Show 'em your brakes honey:

Starship Troopers: Invasion - New SST Anime
Knight26 replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
In terms of the SST "knock offs" I've met both Steakley and Haldemann, interesting guys. Now, Armor (Steakley) was originally concieved to be a sequel or at least take place in the same universe as SST, but Heinlein, or his estate I forget it's been a long time, said no to that idea. So Steakley rewrote it into its own universe, that bares many striking similarities to the SST universe, bugs and all, and called the book an homage to SST and there was much rejoicing. Forever War on the other hand was written as a response to SST. Haldemann felt that Heinlein did not convey the true grittiness of war in SST, and being a Vietnam vet he was coming out a much different war then Heinlein would have served in had he not gotten a medical discharge from the Navy prior to WW2. But SSt was written in a WW2 mindset where soldier were regarded as heroes, and heinlein had been an officer straight away, something he admits he disagrees with, hence why in SST everyone starts as a grunt then goes to OTS. Haldemann however was coming out of 'nam where soldiers were, by and large, treated as periahs upon their return home and alot of that comes through in the book. Haldemann has said that he likes SST, but that he feels his book is more realistic in many ways, and in some ways more prescient, look at how society has changed recently and you'll see what he means. Haldemanns other works are quite good as well and I recommend them all, though I will say that Forever War is probably still his best.- 121 replies

Actually IMHO the NuBSG ending in some ways should have satisfied everyone. Think about it, they leave the colonials alll over Earth to establish human civilization bringining with them their religion culture etc... (... the mayans, the egyptians, the toltec...). Then there is left significant room and evidence that there are still survivors back in the colonies, holds outs in the mountains, caves, bunkers, etc... (...still tribes of men fighting to survive...). Add to that the cylons (red stripe) still exist, and are out there exploring the galaxy and may even return to colonial space to set up their own new homeworld. True they gave up biological form for now, but who is to say that they don't try again and maybe advance the evolution of some reptilian species that will become the biologic cylons of the original series (yes they were original concieved and described in the books as reptilian with the robots who rose us against them before taking on humans, ...this has happened before it will happen again...). Also who is to say that someone (Starbuck) didn't run off with a raptor, heavy raider, small ship whatever, and go back to the colonies, Starbuck would never have been happy on Earth so she goes back to the fight and gives the legend of Galactica back to the survivors. The legend passes down through the generations, through the endless rebuildings of society until you finally get to OBSG and the whole cycle starts again. What might make an interesting TV movie or mini-series is something bridging the gap between Nu and Original BSG, something multi-generational showing the rebuilding and early Original Cylon war and ending shortly before the original begins.

I would love to help but I have too much on my plate right now and am not familiar with sketchup
-
Looks interesting, some kinf supernatural, action thriller mystery, might be worth a watch.
-
I completely agree Graham, I think most of us do, we all just want the video. There seems to be enough there to make freaking episode at least.
-
Awesome stuff guys, but we need to figure out how to pull the video off it, so get cracking.
-
Well in terms of size they are realistic and proportional for the most part, not rediculously huge. THey just all look like their are wearing those 1940/50's cone bras, bringing them to an unnatural point, instead of a curve.
-
I find it interesting that the VF-1SOL lineart has the Yamato swing bar, cool
-
Very nice work, look forward to seeing more. One minor crit though, the women seem in many shots to be a bit too conical in certain parts of their anatomy. That or the Macross has developed some new bra tech.

Her outfit works for me until you get to the boots, then it just goes total dominatrix, no way she could do anything in heals that high.
-
WTF was that?

The 21 is my favorite so far, the rest, I dunno they looks too busy, too much clutter and not clean aerodynamically. And maybe it is just the perspective, the 88's battroid needs to do somethign about that nosecone.

Amazing minature model of the Hamburg Airport
Knight26 replied to wm cheng's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That model is freaking insane, I half expected to see working bathroom facilities. I just wonder where planes go on it after the land, just taxi around and take back off or what? -
Graham, you evil bastard, when when will we see the VF-4 from Yammie?
-
That bat wing thing looks terrible, there is no way I could see that it could fly at all, why not just have some kind of mini-helicopter not something out of the transformers movies.
